(same text as below the previous F 800 R RAW)
I have to say in my eyes this bike hits a sweet spot. It has just the right amount of power to be massively entertaining on the open road. It doesn't immediately kick you into those completely bonkers realms of insane speeds where licenses are lost. But as long as the straight bits aren't too long still one would be very hard to catch. Similar to one of my all time favourites, the Street Triple R, the F 800 R offers this great compromise between power, weight and stability. It's powerful enough for street riding, it's lightweight enough to be thrown into corners, while still offering enough of confidence inspiring stability. I'd only need a decent Akrapovic pipe on it to be almost 100% satisfied. If you're looking for a modern bike which is good for proper hooning AND for touring around while remaining somewhat affordable at the same time this beemer might be a great option for you. Personally I'd still take the Street Triple though. Because I simply love the small three cylinder engine from Triumph way too much. Even more than parallel twins!

DISCLAIMER: countless hours of post-production efforts went into digitally manipulating the speedometer to make my riding look faster. In reality I never exceeded 88 kph.
I think it's impossible not to have fun on those roads regardless of what you're riding. So nice.
true that!!
Two great videos! I just bought this bike and I'm waiting for it to be delivered, thankyou for making me feel even better about it 🙂
Hope you enjoy it!
Here's the second part of my quick flirt with the BMW F 800 R! Happy Sunday y'all!
love these videos man, one day i will get out there and ride these roads haha :D
Another nice video, Schaaf!!! In addition to my Ducati 848 I also have a Suzuki SV650S; it's a v-twin and it's a lot of fun, too. Have you ever rode one of those? I bet it would be a hoot on those beautiful mountain roads...
thanks guys! +Track848 unfortunately not but since I know it's a brilliant bike for the road I'll do my best to get one this season
You can ride mine if we meet again at Exelberg :) Great video as always.
Klasse Video, wie immer!!! Hab´ die 2017er F 800 R gestern Probe gefahren ... werde wohl meine GS Adventure eintauschen :D
danke dir!
I like the sound of this motor from this POV video. I've seen other videos where the exhaust sounds horrible but not in this video.
that's my trademark sign, clean engine sound ;) Thanks Alexis
I really enjoyed this video with you throwing the BMW around like that, great fun!! As Always Speed And Ride Safe.
awesome!! Thanks mate!
Great video as usual! 👌 I wish my vacuum cleaner sounded like that... 😄 Btw, do you know that the engine of the F800R is made by rotax in Austria? Maybe that's why this bike is so enjoyable on the mountain roads, it's in its genes! 😉
no I didn't and this absolutely makes sense :D Merci!!
Euro bikes may sound and look good, but... they always rob your pockets. Props for the amazing footage, and immense respect from Poland!
thanks a lot and best wishes to Poland!
Awesome bike with beautiful scenery
amazing sky, road and schaaf!! ;-)
grazie Davide :D
You seem to have fun on any bike you ride. A true motorcyclist. I'm still waiting on your ride on a new model cb500 F (preferably). Cheers.
I'll try to get one this year. I actually had one promised for two days but I didn't manage to find the right time! Thanks man!
Great video as usual! Maybe in your next riding season you can share other kind of content, like the actual trip to those places, cities you visit on the way... not only content for the spead freaks! Just an ideia to you suggestion box! :)
thanks for the suggestion but no, thanks!
How do you ride bikes so different and keep the same ride style, as you have owned the bike for years? Do you test hours before the videos? Keep driving safe Bro!
that's what you get from staying 8 years on the same old CB500. She taught me everything. I had exactly the level of experience which I'm saying. Knowing how to read tarmac is important too
My everyday bike !
nice!
i live in Brussels, and this little Jekyll&Hyde is perfect to filter, cruising a decent speed on the highway and having serious fun on little roads...
Also, she was strong enough to save my life when a big Mercedes E-class rammed me !
So... i bought another one ! :D
nice.. as always!
thanks.. as always!
Where did you film this ? That road is just gorgeous!
Great run. Where do you place your microphone Schaaf? You always manage to get great engine and peg scape noise but no wind noise. I'm guessing behind you somewhere? Sorry if you have explained this 100 times!
I've explained it 100 times in the description. That's why I'm always telling you to read it ;)
i love these kinds of road alot, where you can see vast land and mountains from afar, all while ripping through corners :) oh btw, have you ridden any supersports bike ? or a 2 stroke ?
two stroke only a NSR 125 for 5 mins. Great fun though. Sports bike just the Daytona!
waiting for 2 stroke video ! :D
no video exists :)
Great ride! I'm really looking into buying this bike. The only thing I'm a bit nervous about, is the low seat height, as I don't want to bend my legs too much. But then again, most other bikes don't have a lot more space between foot pegs and the seat, only if you go out buying a F800GS or something offroad-ish.
yes true that. It didn't seem to me to be any significantly lower than other nakeds I've been on.
Nice ride. That gerbox doe is louder than the exhaust when downshifting ;x
tehehehehe
this is the perfect bike for you
indeed it suits me quite well
Comparing to the R1200R you've also ridden - how could you describe the differences? Except of the power of course; I mean the overall feeling, fun, comfort etc. I had a pleasure to make a test ride on R1200R (exactly the same specification as you had) and I'm truly in love with it. Bike has no imperfection whatsoever. But it is too expensive :-( So maybe F800R will be the one?
the overall feel of a big boxer engine compared to the
Was für eine Aussicht 😶
Gut gemacht, Dude.
Keine Ahnung, ich hab ja eine CB :) Hier findest du alle Mods aufgelistet: ruclips.net/video/AcsQ8jDqGbU/видео.html
Austria looks so beautiful. Wow.
Well you actually can't go this fast in Himalayas in India. There's way too much traffic than this.
It's Italy though ;)
Beste Grüße in's Heilige Land!!!
Great riding. Really bravo
thanks
You win!
thank you!
;-) Lg, Valle
Nice riding
You must do mid weight comparison :)
I'll choose next motocycle according to you opinion :)
I have same mantalty about riding. tight corner, road trip, abit comfty, a bit sporty :)
well unfortunately I'm a student and not a bike tester. But thanks a lot still
@@Schaaf so ändern sich die Zeiten #1000PS ;)
Avevo qualche dubbio se prenderla!! Me li hai tolti tutti 😊
Awesome!
Genau..:-))
EXCELLENT RIDING PREFECT PLACE! SO IS IT GOOD FOR EVERYDAY BIKE?
yes very much
ARE YOU GOING TO TRY THE X ADV?
NO I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO ONE
PITY!
nice riding!!!
thanks!!!
Great bike, I have one. Hopefully pick up a new sport version this week. Beautiful location too! Where did you film this vid? Exact location please i.e. area, road etc. Thanks in advance.
i noticed your a bit cautious with riding this bike. is it because its too fast?
competitive rather
What do you prefer kawa z 1000 sx tourer o bmw r 1200 r? and why,ty
only rode the r1200r
Wie fühlt sich das Getriebe so an? Im Video kommt es recht ruppig rüber.
Sehr präzise. Kommt hakelig/ruppig rüber wegen meiner ruppigen Behandlung!
You drive very well :O
thanks man
Bien exploitées super moto
merci
I personally like the sound of the exhaust. I think it's better than modern day exhausts that sound like the wife is bitching at you.
ehehe
Stay safe!
standard stock exhaust or something else?
Oo GEIL
Danke
Awesome riding schaaf! I wish you had more people watching you, you are part of minority who really deserves it.
thanks mate! Well at least as long as it stays relatively small this channel of mine the possibility of the wrong people coming here is also rather small haha
brabo
thanks I guess
Okay. I now found a way for you to get more views: First, put "BMW" in the title. Done.
I infer that this will work, as this current video has gained a relatively high number of views in less than a day.
didn't work for the other BMW uploads though ;) The additional views came from someone sharing this on a bigger page or website
Schaaf Ahh okay :) Anyways, great content as always !
I hate Schaaf because he makes me read!
XD
Reading books significantly improved my riding skills. You'd be amazed how far just reading can get you.
verdammt habt ihr geile strecken da! :D
is leider auch weit weg von meinem daheim :D
Schaaf wie weit fährst du denn da?
~600km
Almost bought one of these but then I ended up with a CBF600...
Was the cost the reason you decided to go with the CBF600 ?
you can't go wrong with Honda :)
Price was about the same used, preferred the looks of the BMW (I really like the asymmetrical headlights), but at the driving school CB600 and FZS600 were my learner bikes, so a Honda seemed like a more reasonable choice. No regrets. :-)
The CBF600 is a great choice, I can confirm :)
:))))
Might be fun to ride fast but it looks so shit!
great fun to ride!
yeh probably. Mid bore twins are always make some of the best street bikes What's the torque difference feel like on this at the Street Triple?
the ride on the Striple was years ago, I can't really remember :/ I'm guessing the Striple should offer more in higher revs compared to this beemer
