I love Bristol. They are a real team and also seem very likable. I wish, though, that people would hold off on their judgement of Clarke. She seems fully committed to the show and also manages her teammates brilliantly. As for her demeanour: being in front of TV cameras and knowing that everything you say and do will be watched by millions is not only intimidating but also extremely frightening. If anything, Clarke seems a little flustered at times. But I do not at all think that she is aloof or arrogant. You only need to observe her interact with her team to know that she is actually a very friendly and enthusiastic person (the Netherlands geographic segment is particularly revealing).
slightlygrouchy I don't have any problem with Clarke, but my word are Bristol irritating to watch. They're brilliant on the starters, but they waste so much time on the bonuses regardless of whether they know the answer. I shared Paxman's frustration.
An attractive female who isn't always smiling and vivacious will invariably be perceived as 'arrogant' or 'aloof'. A comparable male is 'serious' or 'stoic'. My perception of her is that she's introverted and, as a result, a bit shy.
@@fossrampant5826 Very sorry, a comparable male is in the comments to UC invariably said to be smug, arrogant, or aloof, in which case, sex has nowt to do with it, which is hardly suprising, since such comments are invariably by people who are themselves smug in their own sense of superiority.
Bristol is one of the first teams I've seen really use the optimal (but unsportsmanlike) strategy of stalling significantly with a lead to try and shorten the game.
That was a brilliant score for such a slow team. If they want to win, they're going to have to speed up a bit. I know I'm seven years late but I haven't seen the outcome yet.
@@tafferski I thought Tomsett was beguiling Clarke by his brains. But then I thought Clarke, although very attractive physically, had a perpetual lack of energy which would be very boring after a while. so I hope Tomsett found himself someone he deserves!
@ psimanjuntak -- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE UPLOADS, from Canada. Also, I believe there is an error in your title -- should read: "BRISTOL VS ORIEL - OXFORD" -- (not ORIEL- CAMBRIDGE). Thanks so much!! 🌞
Shanil Misra Having been to one of the two Universities in New Zealand that do medical training, I've gotta say it's not so much they don't need sleep as much as it is they just don't have time to sleep. Any time I thought my BA workload was tough, I just looked at those guys and thought "Nah bro, you've got it easy".

And thanks for the upload :)

I like Clarke. At times she looks like she wants to smack someone upside the head :-) she also has a slight ASMR thing going on. (imo anyway)
Thomas Shaddox Its Paxman's job to keep them to time!

Bristol look to have assembled a real TEAM there.
As always, thanks for the upload.
My brother is Thornes on Oriel! Shame he didnt get more physics questions he gets all of them when we watch at home lol
"lol"???
That explains everything.
@@MichaelKingsfordGray are you insinuating that my family members and I are of a lower intelligence than you, based on my usage of a slang term?
@@MichaelKingsfordGray imagine being so stupid that you think someone writing lol on the internet makes them less intelligent or educated in some way
Bristol is so calm Clarke is about to fall asleep 🥱🥱😴😴😴
I would never have guessed Siantonas studied Philosophy.
😅😅
I really liked both teams. Thanks for the upload!
Lots of easy questions on this one, but love Bristol - good team! Thanks for the upload psimanjuntak!
Thanks for this. Hope you enjoyed the holiday.
Thanks for sharing! Happy new year!
Thank you for uploading! Hope your holidays were great!
I think Clarke might be the quizfu of the year this time
She's my quizfu
Big up dr Thornes
It's nerve wracking when Paxman barks 'come on, I need an answer.'
Ha ha, I find it more nerve-wracking when a team dithers.
Gods, I love paxy, but his Brazilian/Portuguese pronunciation throws me every time (and I live here! Lol)
Bristol is one of the first teams I've seen really use the optimal (but unsportsmanlike) strategy of stalling significantly with a lead to try and shorten the game.
I don't think they're deliberately trying to stall - it's just that they can't make up their minds...
Wonder what made you think that after even Paxman said Bristol's 265 was a 'very impressive score'. They all did very well throughout.
That was a brilliant score for such a slow team. If they want to win, they're going to have to speed up a bit. I know I'm seven years late but I haven't seen the outcome yet.
I used to like the winning team, but they stalled so much!
Eoin Monaghan the series 63 runner up from Countdown, I still remember him as a 14 year old on the show.
Me having studied at Bristol and then gone to Oriel college for postgrad- "hmm interesting..."
Clarke and Jackson of Bristol are gorgeous and very smart !
Is it just me or is there a palpable chemistry between Clarke and Tomsett?
Nope, not just you. They need to get a room.
Yeah i thought so too.

@@funtimeslondon You should not infer someone's real personality by watching them on a tv show.
@@tafferski I agree. It's difficult to see the real person, esp since we are all so many people...
Dollars to donuts that Siantonas is clean shaven with short hair right about now working for some sleazy politician
Oriel is Oxford, not Cambridge. Is this a joke?
raptokvortex stfu
"Yakihm", Paxman? That is not how to pronounce Joachim. The hardest part of Paxman's questions is sometimes understanding his pronunciation.

It's Oriel College, Oxford, not Cambridge. :)
Did you mean Oriel Oxford?
I love it when these other universities kick Oxbridge ass 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't give a tinker's dam what university a team's from. That's not why I watch the programme.
@@castelodeossos3947well a thousand apologies your excellency 😅😅😅
would love to see bristol vs st andrews, with clarke and parker competing to outdo each other in their "this whole show is stupid anyway" tone.
il capitano yeah, it gets a bit tiring. Sometimes it seems like she's too cool for this show
No way! I love Clarke's attitude :D

Well you can't because St Andrews went out five episodes ago.
Women are actresses, men are actors.
Dude, there is no Oriel College in Cambridge, it is Oriel-Oxford!
Thanks for the video anyway.
Clarke is an angel
big up helms mai bro

Say bud, is Clarke depressed?
Shocking music round... those are violin basics.
Clarke has a great voice!
Clarke should check her own pulse pressure a few times a day, I reckon. Good God, imagine what she might achieve were she alive.
Helms, Oriel is a right miserable teat!
How old is thornes
I'm 4 years late but he's my physics teacher. He's probably in his 20s - late 20s
Can somebody explain me the system? What does "oriel" mean? Why not just "oxford"?
oxford is made up of many different colleges and oriel is one of them
7:20 cheeky writers
I would never say sperm in public.
Alice,,,,,,, omg,,,, gorgeous.
9:30 oof shutdown
Helms is such a bellend.

Clarke should get more sleep
I'm sure she doesn't need your input.
