+tommykl Nah, they'd always have the best two teams sure, but every team can have an off day. When you give them 10 teams each you're eliminating that statistical flux
@ferzy09 I get 80-90 percent if they are from geography of India and Asia. And about Science and Maths. I not interested in politicians, actors, musicians of UK/Europe.
justlikeitsounds I am rooting for Bristol. But you are absolutely right, from the first minute on they looked listless, lifeless and strangely drowsy. As if they did not care at all. I am certain that they are actually a much better team.
You forgot about Bristol's previous performances - even the best teams can have a bad day, as we saw in the final last year. I don't mind CC, they don't waste time unlike other teams but about time for a different university to win I think. PS - Paxman not allowing 'macaroni' must have been a factor, made worse by him allowing 'elephantitis' to CC later on!
Do you not have a similar television series in The United States ? Upon reflection, I think such a series would be well worth watching. I would love to see a pitch between the best of our Universities and yours. To wit, a competition between what many over here so often dismiss as a `dumbed down` Educational system and those Universities which are often placed amongst the very best in the world.
Steve DL I don’t know what you mean? Are you calling the US dumb? We have some of if not the smartest over here. MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, CalTech, Brown, UChicago, Northwestern, Cornell, Rice, etc.......
Yup. I'm a new watcher of these quizzes...but it seems to me like he favors Oxbridge colleges and gives them a lot more license and leeway and WAY less scorn when they cock up. At 12:06 Ventakesh is told "Varicella" but he says clearly, "FAricella", and blithely Paxman says, "Yes, Varicella is correct." How often has he scorned contestants saying, "You were correctly told [xyz] but you didn't say that"? Often. But not here. He pisses me off.
When they asked them to identify the composer of some lesser known classical music I was thinking "Oh man thats the calibre of student they're looking for on this show? Someone who listens to classical music in their free time?" but then later when the avengers and studio ghibli questions were asked, I got so excited that I was able to answer them! Even though I only answered two and they answered some 50 questions, I still felt like I was rubbing shoulders with amazing people
Thank you so much for the upload, Psi. You rock! Bristol have turned in a real stinker this time. Hope they can turn things around in their next match. Or are they really not all that good and merely had bad opponents in the previous two rounds?
27:18 Lol, Bristol decided to wake up after an eleven minute nap (last point gained around 16:00). I'm afraid, they chose a little late into the game to pick up the ball again but at least there was an effort, eh?
theres a UC video ive been trying to find where a picture round is the lineups for a sporting event. the starter is the 1999 champions league final. if anyone knows this vid, please put the link in the replies. im desperate ngl

The CC team are exceptionally charming but the Bristol team are in no way opposite, merely not as charming. The Bristol captain's sullenness does not reflect a sour woman for she smiles very sweetly a number of times in this contest.

love watching Corpus Christi - not taking it dead serious but putting up solid points and having fun in the mean time!
cheers for the upload!
I can now see why Oxbridge colleges compete separately, the pool of talent they would be able to draw on otherwise would be unbelievable.
Indeed. People complain that they almost always win, but if they had just one team for the entire university, they would *always* win.

+tommykl Nah, they'd always have the best two teams sure, but every team can have an off day. When you give them 10 teams each you're eliminating that statistical flux
i think there should only be one team from Cambridge and one from Oxford actually
I don't think that is true
what is this magical show ... and where has it been all my life
Corpus Christi are very entertaining, especially Emma Johnson and Nikhil Venkatesh
I love how Venkatesh just goes with his gut half the time.
@@terrystickland5770 And doesn't allow himself to be distracted.
Can't wait for Venkatesh v Monkman
gjcauilan if Monkman (slightly) won Goldman, Venkatesh will be no problem for him.
If we were in the old format (straight knockouts for the quarter finals), then we would have had Venkatesh vs. Monkman.

Why am I now addicted to binge watching UC? This is the 7th episode I've seen in 2 days and only got ONE answer right 😩
But you'll learn so much from watching these. Don't worry about it dude and keep nerding😎
@@thomasjenkins2555 😂😂😂👍 that's true! Might watch a couple now, it's been a few weeks

i hope things have changed in the 4 years
My first time watching this and whooo boy this is so genuinely entertaining all the way through!
Good to see Joy Division represented.
Great game, thanks Psi for uploading!! Looking forward to watching Corpus Christi hopefully go all the way!
I'd love to see Corpus go all the way. They work well together as a team, all contributing. Bristol looked like they feel asleep at the halfway mark.

Towards the end there, Clarke seemed to spend several minutes texting, e.g. 23:18 ;-)
Id love to see Johnson go all the way..
This is the most fun I've seen Paxman/the audience have..normally it's so tense
I only came for Emma Johnson tbh XD Plus she is increadibly intelligent which makes her attractiveness level go off the charts!
I came as well

I think Corpus Christi are one of my favourites this season :) Love watching them!

Lucas M Do you realise how ironic your comment is?
The thirstiness of people in the comments section for UC will never cease to amaze me.
It's RUclips algorithm's fault for pushing the episodes with cute girls in the thumbnail
You look quite thirsty yourself with that picture
@@cdsbz3314 I think she looks more moist than thirsty.
Amirite?
Paxman should have accepted macaroni. He has accepted much less accurate answers.

I tend to agree his decisions do come across a little arbitrary at times but to be fair for this question he specifically asks for the adjective
...stuck a feather up his bum and called it macaroni ....i agree ....
No. The correct adjective would be macaronic.
No, for God's sake! He's doing God's work by insisting that the kids know their Goddamned grammar. God! We can't give up on the grammar
God Johnson is such a qt π
DonSwami totally, she's a knockout
DonSwami i was thinking the exact same
She's a stunner.
Same goes for Clarke. Both stunning.
I always thought Peterhouse Powell was the cute one
Corpus Christi team very well balanced, good bet to win all the way!

The questions get harder don't they? So they are only so good up to a certain level of difficulty, perhaps.
Yeah it's at the point now where I don't even understand some of the questions.
Trivia. Let's all get excited.
Bristol was completely out of depth :-(
I'm struck by the fact the medical students missed three obvious enough medical questions- right atrium, elephantiasis and ringworm

Who dresses Paxman ???!!?? That tie hurts my eyes....
3 roses in a bed of weeds😂. Sorry boys.
6:13 it’s not macaroni, it’s ‘macaronic’!!
Clarke is so fit
Bit of a miseryguts, though.
That's what makes her so fit. ;-)
You're absolutely correct - her expression is sexual dynamite.
She looks tired
Johnson's got better front though
I only got one answer right. This game is hard!
Two medstud and cant even answer right atrium fast enough, lol
Nope. You lose five points.

Not surprisingly the best looking gets chosen as the thumbnail.
How did I guess that Fleets name would be Tom lmfao
I thought he swore that they won @ 1:42
Exactly
21:44 finally a question that I could actually answer 😌😌😌
Could also add 24:20 to that 😅
Good game.
Odds on Venkatesh getting the first question right?
I'm Indian and i didn't know it either
All fatigue in the world is on her shoulder.
Cool teams
Goodbye Emma Johnson
NICE TO SEE U
25:27 220 points, but 25:31 215 points. How does that work?
Kazi Siddiqui Someone messed up with the graphics. After their 1st bonus question they had 225 points which is correct. @25:55
My guess is it's just editing. Paxman's voice over a separate camera shot of the team.
Tomsett sounds like David Mitchell
Joe Lycett actually

BRISTOL THRASH OXFORD IN ROUND 2, AND THEY PLAY LIKE THIS?!
It surprises me every time Paxman makes a joke.

I love you Emma Hunt Johnson
Clarke has a very strange manner to her...very off hand and avoiding eye contact. Maybe it's shyness...
Could be nerves but could just be autism, at least 50% of the contestants on this show have gotta be autistic or adhd

Why do they always play opera and classical music? Surely this isn't they only music uni students listen too
