What part was that? The USSR was starting to fail long before this concert was taking place so...this was however a sign that they started to open up to the rest of the world.
The USSR was already crumbling by this time, but you are correct in that Metal (and music in general) helped in changing the culture of the Soviet youth. For me, however, Iron Maiden (who actually played behind the Iron Curtain years earlier) was a greater accomplishment.
Metallica has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, they have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they're considered to be one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, including all genres, and they've had the Master of Puppets album, from 1987, preserved in the U.S. Library of Congress' National Recording Registry as being considered Culturally and Historically significant. Oh, and they're also in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the only band to have ever played a concert on all 7 continents, including for scientists in Antarctica, within 1 year.
The song is about the plagues of Egypt in the bible, hence the "die" stuff. Also none of the bands performing that day had any idea about the deaths till after. The number of people was unplanned for and so the medical and security were woefully inadequate, even tho there was military in hand they eventually just gave up and watched the show. Pantera and other big bands were there too but Metallica was the biggest. Great reaction, hope you do more.
Metallica is my all time absolutely favourite band and I don’t care what some people say. I love them, I’ve loved them since I was 8 in 1988. You wanna see some more great and entertaining Metallica? I suggest you check out Battery and Whiplash from live in Seattle 1989.
That style of guitar James is playing has been around since the late 60's First company to come out with it wad Gibson I believe its called the Explorer or Destroy series
After Metallica's Metallica entered the billboard charts at #1 in 1991 the band performed in Moscow in front of 1.6 million people which is still a classic show from Metallica today.
Please react to their 1989 concert of the songs Welcome Home Sanitarium and Fade to Black. They are both A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! You're definitely missing out if you don't see this! They are hard songs but very melodic and beautiful too!! Being female as well I think you'll will like these better than the non stop thrashing. Although I definitely love those too!
Another good live show Is 1985 Day on the Green For whom the bell tolls With the late Cliff Burton on bass And they were all in their early 20's The best part is Cliff's opening bass solo
This song is the story of the "Passover", in the book of Exodus, the story about Moses and the Pharaoh(I think spelled it right). Might I suggest some Iron Maiden, live or studio, but live is always more exciting! Great reaction!🤘🤓🤘
🔥🔥🔥🔥Reaction 💯🤘🏼 and one question do y’all both do music? And If y’all do what’re can I listen. Please and Thank y’all for reactin to one of My favorite Bands of all time
Hey, Thank you💖 yes we both have music! You can get/sample Keri's album here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B You can listen to me sing here: ruclips.net/p/PLJTCPzYTa3mLjOSP9vTlWfyrSNmy7JM2n
Awesome reaction!! Check out the epic Metallica (Seattle 1989) concert!! Some songs to watch include Master of Puppets; Blackened; Battery; The Thing That Should Not Be; Fade To Black 🎸🎵
Metallica is my favorite band, but I’d say that Slayer from the 1980s to the early 2000s are the real ultimate headbangers. The guitar is an ESP LTD made to look like an Explorer, but was later changed to his current Snakebyte model which can be purchased, but are quite expensive
4:39 "F" is because he was just trying to get the crowd to sing and didn't realize until a few moments... they're Russian, they don't know the words :)
Also if you would let me suggest to you another band that is amazing life and you’ll have a great time watching them perform, even beyond the music, check Rammstein.
The second guy to sing to song is Jason Newsted, their second bassist, and best backup vocalist ever in metal 😀
Jason the fucking beast
He's actually 3rd
The fact Metallica had a part in the fall of the USSR is an accomplishment not many other bands can beat lol.

4:09 Greatest rhythm guitarist of all time deserves a great guitar too :)

The wall had come down in East Germany in 1989 (which led to the reunification of Germany) and communism was beginning to fall when this happened.
Jason Newstead was Metallica's 3rd bassist
1st was Ron McGovey
2nd was the late Cliff Burton
Who you need to see his bass solo
Harvester of sorrow live Moscow 1991 and Welcome home Sanitarium live Seattle 1989
this show was not just a concert but was part of the Monster of Rock festival shows and they were not the main band that day
Nice

"There's only one God, ma'am(or sir), and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."
-Steve Rogers/Captain America

From the same concert my favourite song is Harvester of Sorrow. By Metallica.
The guitar is an ESP James Hetfield Signature Snakebyte
No it isn’t. It’s an ESP Explorer. The Snakebyte was released in 2011

Briefly, in 40's Germans tried to destroy communist Russia and failed. In between 50's and 90's US tried it. Finally god sent Metallica.
If you want to react to a song you might not have heard of, I recommend the artist Aesthetic Perfection with their song Bark at the Moon
Great reaction 💕 You guys are adorable 💕
Thank you so much🥰🥰
4:39 "F" is because he was just trying to get the crowd to sing and didn't realize until a few moments... they're Russian, they don't know the words :)
Its because of the wrong chord at 4:34
@@Jez3134 maybe but i believe its the lyrics
