The musicians are called the "Kami Band". "Kami" means god in Japanese, and these guys are like gods of music. They are all men and are Japan's best musicians. They are wearing burial gowns and corpse face paint because in the BABYMETAL legend/fantasy/storyline, the "Fox God" raises the musicians from the dead and calls on them to play the music for the girls for each concert. The 3 girls have been chosen by the "Fox God" to unite the world through metal.
Good reaction. Best metal song about playing hide & seek ... but they are playing with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre). The growling vocals on the backing track are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready" - and the only correct response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance. The Kami Band face paint is because they are kami - spirits summoned to support BABYMETAL in the Metal Resistance, so they are spirits or gods of guitar, bass and drums ... as they were demonstrating at the start (although as it was a compilation video you didn't see them actually playing what you were hearing since the clips were from so many different shows and the audio was from just one show). The mix of brutal metal with kawaii vocals and choreo in this song is outrageous, but it works so well. Keep the BABYMETAL coming, lots more to see yet :-)
@@iravvivero1047 You are most welcome, I hope it helps for your future BABYMETAL reactions (and I hope there are many of them to come, I'm enjoying watching you discover and experience them).
Another reactor brought an uninitiated friend on once, to show him Babymetal. The friend asked "what genre is this?" It's... pretty much its own genre. Babymetal is truly unique. Good job, guys!
Japanese metal musicians are on a whole other level when it comes to technical skills (even kids doing covers on RUclips). Unfortunately, the songs that they play within often fall a bit short. Thankfully, Babymetal and their 'Kami Band' (the dudes behind the girls) never fail to impress.
619 represent ! I live on both side of the border ... Otay in San Diego and Otay in Tijuana .... I be bumpin' BABYMEAT when I go for walk on my blue tooth speaker .... HIGH VOULUME !
I remember back then people always said that there is no way anyone can dance to that kind of music, but when I first saw Baby Metal 4 years ago these beautiful young ladies proved a point and has done such an amazing job on the choreography that every time I see them dancing and having so much fun I get very impressed over and over. I am still a huge fan of Baby Metal but my aims are with another Japanese rock band called "Lovebites". ruclips.net/video/j5xVI7bBl2E/видео.html
Hello 🙋 🐙 🍜 🍙 🐥 Thank you very much for your taking an interest in Baby Metal 🙏 🐥 🐕 🎊 Please enjoy listening to another Baby Metal song 🙏 🎶🎤🍢🍤🎇 See you 🙋 👍🙆✌️🍛🎴
Nice reaction. :) In the performance used as the audio for that video, I love the way that Su really leans into the cuteness in the way she sings "kuru kuru" (around and around) sounding more like "guru guru". They reference different hide-and-seek, and tag games in the song, for some of which it's customary to call the person who is "it" the "oni". If you know about oni, it's very understandable why that might add some extra motivation to run away. :D
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏃♀️👹 So this cute song is about playing a game that is like hide-and-go-seek, tag or blind-mans-bluff. Pursued by an "Oni"" which is a kind of Japanese Ogre (Demon monster). While Megitsune is still my favorite, I think this is one of their their cutest choreographies. If much of their charm is in the blending of the cute and the brutal, this song is a great example. The recurring "Maada da yo." part that Yui and Moa sing means "Not ready yet."
The first time I saw this video I was at my computer for work around 1:30 in the morning. I took a little break and clicked on this suggested video. About 2 minutes later I honestly didn't know if I had fallen asleep at my desk and was just dreaming!
