Thank you so much.. I haf been having. Problems for days trying to install this fluid master kit. I realized I never adjusted it for to fill water at a certain level. I was too scared to flush because water would go into my other bathroom from the toiler being to full of water. I folkowed step bt step and now the water cuts off at proper level and no more water leakage in the other bathroom. Thank you so much..
For me, the top of fluidmaster was not atleaat 3 inches from the top of overflow pipe and caused water to leak in the pan. I was scratching my head all day trying to work it out having changed all rubber seals, new button, new intake flow... yup was just that which fixed. Hope this comment helps others.
If really lucky and a 400a valve stops filling . The top half can be removed where you adjust the height of the big tube. Spiral. With locking collar.. just pull the old one off and put a new one in.. replace the little rubber hose and set the full height....
I know that your comment is a year old but I just changed it and it wasn’t that difficult. Look at the video again and you will see that you don’t have to remove the tank. Good luck!
Hello There! The shank washer which is now being pre-installed on our retail valves is the washer that seals the valve inside the tank. This washer stops water from leaking from the bottom of the fill valve and onto your floor. If you have a product and the shank washer is not pre-installed then simply take the washer and slip it onto the threaded shank at the bottom of the fill valve and push it all the way up until it stops against the fill valve shank stop. The shank washer is installed with the “flat” side facing up so it meets the flat side of the shank stop. Hopefully that helps. The valve noise you are experiencing is alerting you to water loss inside the tank. When the toilet makes a "Ghost Flush" it is turning on and off very quickly to refill water into the tank. The # 1 cause for a ghost flush is a worn flapper valve. We recommend cleaning the drain seat (the area the flapper is covering) and the flapper. If that does not stop the ghost flush then replacing the flapper should stop the leak.

Is the fill tube really supposed to go down the overflow drain? Seems like a waste of water.
This is EXTREMELY different than the printed instructions that come with the kit. I was not planning on taking the tank off the toilet bowl!!!!
You shouldn't have to remove the tank just to replace the fill valve, right? Only if you are replacing the flush valve, too.

There is zero mention of what you do with the shank washer. It’s not clear on the box and it’s not clear in this video.

At almost the beginning he states to put the shank washer on the threaded pipe and make sure the flat side is up when you puy it on.
Video over here shows the guy punching the middle of the shank washer out at 4:21, which makes it clear. ruclips.net/video/CmvjFYt8cNU/видео.html
I did not need any music. I was hoping a licensed plumber would talk slow on HOW TO
I replaced it but every 5 mins I hear my toilet running. How can I stop that or what so I need to adjust?
