Respect for these guys for having the foresight to start this business. Very cool.
They missed the biggest thing this company has to offer! They actually offer a Gen 2 Prius battery with all new cells, not refurbished/rebalanced cells, but a battery with truly new cells.
Nice! Worked! Saved me a ton of time and money! 🥵😊
I worked for them, when they run out of "New Cells" they replace your "New Cells" that you're paying extra for, with refurbished old module cell racks. They'll also try and sell you a battery without even diagnosing the car when it could easily be your 12V battery not having enough continuous charge of its own. Great concept of a new business industry, just terrible people to work for.
I was just about to order from them before I read your comment. Do you recommend any other company? Just doing my research
@@kimberlys4075 depends on the battery cells you want, I know their competitor is Green Bean, but for actual new cells I would honestly recommend the dealer as they know their product better than most aftermarket companies, but if you're looking for aftermarket, Green Bean or Cardone
@@kimberlys4075 that guy could have been a disgruntled employee for them. Don't just take his word for it. Id check the warranty from each company. Id go with Geentech if they have the best warranty. Motor week wouldn't put up a janky battery repair company just willy nilly.
@@itsmarkwtfor that guy could straight up be telling the truth and even recommended other places
My brain shuts off when someone suggest the dealer
Very nice and best wishes
I have a question on my red seal exam: Which battery do you connect first? The Hybrid battery? Or the 12v Battery, if for whatever reason both are unplugged.
I have rav4 prime Can you change out onboard charger from 3.3 to 6.6
Nice😯😯😯I've only done one😎
ICE ICE Baby!
How many kilowatt battery it is?
Hope that shop has a great sprinkler system!
That better be with ‘foam’ and not water.
Why?
How many battries are there in hybrid cars
Hi, I have a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid and I need a new battery pack to install in my car, I like to know if your shop have one, please let me know.
Thanks.
Hi mica
My 2008 Altima Hybrid looses Voltage while in Idle with AC or without in Twn drives good on Hwy but seeing loss mpg..too...
Wow
What kind of "Price" are we talking?
The whole point of this video, and why I watched it, was the comparable prices of dealers and them.
Storing heavy battery packs, on the top shelf ? I think I'll pass thanks. @1:41
How would it ‘leave you stranded’ if the main gasoline ‘engine’ is still onboard, still alive and well. ?!
No alternator so once car 12v battery is dead car dies.
"nothing ends up in a landfill, and if it's a higher-capacity battery that won't work in a car"
won't work in a car? if that's the case, where is this EV battery pack repair place getting these too-large cells from then?
"Loses serious muscle"
Lady, no prius has ever had "muscle".
👍
Na chrisfix got me
Received a battery from Greentec Auto that wasn't working properly and they would not replace it. Would not recommend purchasing from this company.
What was their reasoning for not standing by their warranty?
Bad part is limited warranty with a replacement battery could turn your decision into a deadly self-inflicted financial disaster. Unknown what you're getting in terms of cell quality. Had so many bad experiences with poor quality replacement battery cells on laptop, cell phone, and other small electronics, I'd be very afraid with a huge price of a replacement battery this costly.
gee i hate 'UNEXPENSIVE' battery issues
Ok, but isn't the whole point of a hybrid to avoid this issue? Just put on the gas engine if the battery dies, it'll get you to a garage or gas station to charge.
It depends on which kind of hybrid. I saw a video by Scotty Kilmer where he mentioned that Honda's hybrids can work fine even if the battery goes, but Toyotas cannot. He's a big Toyota fan as well as a very experienced mechanic, so I guess he knows what he is saying.
It depends. IIRC, the chevy volt has no 12V car batt to run its starter, so if the hybrid battery goes dead, you're screwed.
@@albertowachsman7878 Scotty is a fraud., he hates domestic auto manufacturers and is a paid lackey to the off shore mfg’s like the Japanese!
@@elimogenson3316yup bring a screwdriver and 12volt baterry
YEESS. 1ST 💖
Batteries are like $5,000..
No they're not sweetie
@@triple_gem_shining yea ur rite more like $9000.
I literally yesterday (6/22/22) priced a battery for a 2013 Chevy Eco (which I am not sure that the consumer even knows is a hybrid) and the Chevy dealership quoted $2959.00 plus install labor. One shop told me they couldn’t even order one if I wanted them to.
Consumers get your education on this stuff before you purchase! I did and decided to pass on the 2013 Malibu Eco.
@@robshaw2990 Yea, it's like Totalling the car dammm near!
@@javee-th5no they are also not covered by any type of extended service contract you can purchase because the hybrid battery is considered a “wear item”. I am so glad I spent the time to figure out what I was looking at. The car was/is nice but with that elephant in the room it is not for me.
...replace battery with some V8 engine!
:)
Yes, and stay reliant on fossil fuels from the Middle East and Russia forever and ever!
Pay an arm and a leg to try to look cool in front of ppl while you're in debt 😂😂😂😘
@@triple_gem_shining
You just dont know, how good they pay for arms and legs :P
Lot of BS in this video. No, the hybrid battery pack will not leave you stranded on the side of the road, your hybrid just will not get as good of MPGs. And no, they last well over 150k miles, Toyota even warranties them for 10 years or 150k miles. This shop uses a scare tactic to get to you wallet....that's just terrible tactic in 2021
ONLY toyota's hybrid is worth a damn
I know that a second generation Prius will leave you stranded if the hybrid battery fails. If the hybrid battery is dead or non-functional there is no way to start the car because the electric drive motor is what starts the gasoline engine. They do have a 12volt car battery in them but that is only to operate a small portion of the electronics, such the computers, radio and lights.
@@813yaz correct. If you have a completely dead cell and ECU your done.
@@813yaz Agreed, they will leave you stranded, it happened to me. You can usually get away driving a mile or two after the red triangle of death comes up on a Prius, but if you push it, the car will go into self-preservation mode and will not drive .
Mine drove 50 miles home
Batteries are now, 20yrs later, are just starting to wear out??? That's a f-ing joke!! Where does she live?
I have friends with 15 -17 year old Prius's with the original battery pack.
It’s true tho
Y'all can keep your hybrids. I'm not dealing with that bs and causing that kind of damage to the environment
Pick your poison.
I have gasoline cars that are still running , looking great , performing well that are over 50 years old ! Screw electric cars
