@Ricky Corona You are correct that the music itself can only be judged on how well it suits the project it is composed for, but that does not mean we can't evaluate the composers on their body of work as a whole. Zimmer is a pioneer. Beginning at his work on Inception, he almost singlehandedly ushered in an era of melodically simplistic yet tonally complex, multilayered, ambient-style scoring that we have only in recent years begun to emerge from. He has also pushed the boundaries of synthesizers and electronic components of an orchestra to previously unfathomable extents. His talent is staggering and his clout in the industry is matched, perhaps, by John Williams alone (though Williams is receding from the spotlight as his age progresses). His style of composition is all his own, and may well define the film-scoring world for decades. But compare his work to some of the older greats, like Williams, Elfman, Goldsmith, even Horner to a certain extent. Even Zimmer's best work can't hold a candle to their mastery of the much more complex and challenging classical style of composition. Their respective styles have their uses, yes, but I don't think it's unreasonable to say that these men are objectively BETTER composers than Zimmer, simply because they write more memorable and iconic music than he does, in a far more demanding compositional discipline.

Lance Yemeli Venom was pointless, he had very little screen time and had no place in the storyline about forgiveness, which was between Sandman, Peter and Harry. If they had to include Venom, they should've made the whole movie about him.
This music piece shows that Sandman wasn't necessarily a bad guy. What he did was so that he could see his daughter again, and doing something because you care for your kid means you do care for people in general. It's just your intentions are not so great. This has to be the best track from Spider-Man 3 for reasons I cannot explain without all the feels. I give it a Flint/10. (That means it's godly)
They did sooo goood with sandman that scene of him being turned into nothing barely even being able to hold himself together. Until he sees his daughters photo and becomes whole again gaining enough strength to carry on
That scene of him first rising out of the sand pit is my favorite scene in the entire raimi trilogy. No words are spoken, no fast paced action, just a man waking up to his horrible curse. And the way he finally gains enough determination to form a whole body just by looking at the locket of his daughter is so powerful. Music plays a crucial role in film, and sandman proves it.
This movie came out when I was a kid and even then I always felt touched by Sandman's story in this movie. I'm now in my late 20's with a 7 year old daughter and love this character even more now. I'd do anything to protect and save my princess even if it costed me my own life.
what if you had a daughter , she became ill and you knew someone who was good at robbing places , he said , do this one job and you can save your daughters life , you would do it , there isn't another way , its like the end of your world at this point . the job goes wrong and this kind old man tells you to go home , you realise what you done and in anger of your partner , you shoot him , get put in prison for a crime you didn't want to commit , you break free as all you want to do is save her life . then there is that one man that stops you , this is sandmans story , hes not a bad person , he has just had bad luck, you would too if in his position admit it
Absolutely if i were a father I'd do whatever i could to save her from a near ending death i would immediately do whatever i had to,to save my little girl If i was in his situation.
I agree. They could have still used the symbiote for Peter but teased the coming of Venom for the next film. If only the studio didn't force Venom's inclusion in the third movie.
Plus, Sandman's death in the sewer should''ve been permanent and after that, Peter does more research on Marko's past and realizes he has a sick daughter and connected two and two together, and made Peter regret his actions which would further motivate him to remove the costume.

Sandman, the best character and part of spider man 3. His story even though it wasn't focused on much. Was still breathtaking. The emotions were the only thing what made the film great. Spider-Mans fake swag wrecked it.
+Keyda SoulReader if you think about it, if venom and everything to do with him wasnt in the movie and it was just sandman and spiderman, it wouldve been fantastic. easily as good as the first two.
Sandman really should've been the main villain of Spider-Man 3, with Harry transforming into more of an anti-hero version of the Hobgoblin, who is willing to kill criminals in vicious ways using his father's equivalent, with his thirst for vengeance for his father being his driving point. IMO, Harry as Hobgoblin should have the personality and sense of justice similar to that of Red Hood.
The Jamester I was thinking that Harry should've gotten the symbiote after Peter discarded it. The symbiote then would have made Harry turn into a Venom-Goblin hybrid. While Sandman was the main villain, though he wasn't that much of a villain in full nature.
This actually seems like the theme for when you've faced nothing but hurt, pain and betrayal over the course of many years in your life and you reflect back to when times were more happy and at least somewhat optimistic.
His theme has marked me since childhood, it alone transmits so many emotions. If only the character had been more developed instead of Venom, we certainly could have had one of the best Spider-Man villains.
If sandman successfully robbed those banks and then saved his sick daughter I think he would've payed back the city by either turning himself in or better yet use his powers to help people
I want to hear 2:50 in No Way Home so badly. Just, imagine the nostalgia. If you're born at 2000 or earlier, you must've watched this somewhere in your elementary age. Now we're gonna experience it in our 20s
I only ask NWH for one thing: That the themes of the previous films are respected. Seriously, if you give Sandman some generic ass music instead of this absolute masterpiece, I will riot.
I was born in 2005 and I tell you what this soundtrack has stayed with me for as long as I can remember, never has a piece of music affected me so deeply
Without going into too much detail, the same kind of horns are used in a scene or two with Sandman in No Way Home. Not quite this theme but reminiscent of it. Hope that helps 😁
THEORY: Sandman in No Way Home is pulled into the MCU at the the point in time where he is “killed” by Black Suit Spidey in the subway. This explains why he’s hostile because he hadn’t been redeemed yet and believes he was mercilessly murdered by Spider-Man. EDIT: Welp, it was a good guess based on the trailers, but I’m actually glad I was wrong and he wasn’t evil in the movie.
I never understood the hate Spiderman 3 gets, sure the part where venoms in seem rushed. But the scores the feelings one gets with these themes is astounding. Sandman to me when I was little was never a villain but a father wanting to do right...he in the matter was human, sand or not. Our reasons to do bad are our own...sometimes we're pushed to those limits...but never take a father's love as evil and this sandman truly will forever stay in my heart
“I told your Uncle, all I wanted was the car. He said to me...why won’t you just put down the gun, and go home? I realized now, he was just trying to help me...then I saw my partner running over with the cash...the gun was in my hand. I did a terrible thing to you...I spend a lot of nights wishing I could take it back. I’m not asking you to forgive me, I just want you to understand”
As I listen to this, I picture what I would've done at the end of the end of Spider-Man 3 if I were the director. I would have Sandman reform as a human on the doorstep of his former home as he knocks on the door. His wife answers the door and they have an aggressive talk, but Sandman says he's planning on starting over and changing his ways. His daughter catches a glimpse of him as she walks out of her room. She runs over to him excitedly and the two hug and cry in each other's arms out of joy as the films screen goes to black and the credits roll.
@@virgogaming6488 He said he found Sandman visually interesting, and I agree he certainly is. The way he approached it was pretty good, someone who’s “falling apart” but “trying to keep himself together” physically and mentally. But good to see a not so popular villain for a change.
How can people say Tom Holland's spider man is better? Sam Raimi's Spiderman had integrity. It was a whole movie by itself and it didn't need to be part of some big Marvel/Avenger franchise.
@Nathan Maluenda kinda annoyed at the high school thing tbh. For most of his run Spider-Man was in college. He’s a grown ass man now. The high school stuff is from the ultimate universe. They keep going to the ultimate universe stories while using the 616 aesthetic
What is the reason ? The addition of Venom, too much of a bad storyline problem??This Venom is certainly not faithful to the comics but it is very good and since I was little it has been my favorite Venom Even now he is favorite Venom Each opinion and subjective there is some he likes there is no
This isn't the theme of a villain. This is the theme of someone who doesn't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

2020, and this is very good, and sad
Sandman is the reason I love Spider-Man 3. He's not a bad guy just had bad luck.
Well Said
I am so in love with this music... It has balls, and a great melody, and the piano parts give me goosebumps. My childhood seems so far away...
Sandman's theme actually make me cry 😭
I realise his pain, how much sacrifice he makes for his little daughter.
We reunite here again after another No Way Home trailer. And Sandman is CONFIRMED!
I’m born 2008 but I still love sandman and his daughter. He isn’t a villain he just someone who does whatever it takes to help someone
This movie came out when I was a kid and even then I always felt touched by Sandman's story in this movie. I'm now in my late 20's with a 7 year old daughter and love this character even more now. I'd do anything to protect and save my princess even if it costed me my own life.
This is enough to make the most hardened men cry... c':
True.
You true trust me I takes a lot to make me cry this dug deep
True :(
what if you had a daughter , she became ill and you knew someone who was good at robbing places , he said , do this one job and you can save your daughters life , you would do it , there isn't another way , its like the end of your world at this point .
the job goes wrong and this kind old man tells you to go home , you realise what you done and in anger of your partner , you shoot him , get put in prison for a crime you didn't want to commit , you break free as all you want to do is save her life .
then there is that one man that stops you , this is sandmans story , hes not a bad person , he has just had bad luck, you would too if in his position
admit it
That's true
I agree with you I’d think anyone would do the same for their child because nothing is as painful as loosing a loved one
Absolutely if i were a father I'd do whatever i could to save her from a near ending death i would immediately do whatever i had to,to save my little girl If i was in his situation.
I refuse to admit I'd kill someone over that, but I would probably try to steal for my daughter
@@jacksonroy8720 he didn't shoot ben on purpose. His finger was on the trigger and the robber startled him.
spiderman 3 would've been great just with sandman alone, & this kick-ass theme.
The Jamester yes but near the end of the film
I agree with you
The symbiote was amazing
2:28. I remember having chills all over when I saw this in the theater as a kid. It was so awesome seeing him rise up with this soundtrack. I love movies
I'm here after no way home, and I'm here listening to this song remembering who sandman was in spiderman 3 and I almost got a tear in the sad part of the music, the villain who did not choose to be, the villain who did not deserve his destiny , the villain whom we carry in our memories and hearts
He is cured don't worry he will have a better life in alternate universe
@@royalboy850 umm he doesn't come from alternate universe sinces him and tobey have forgiven each other and it's likely that he's in the same reality as tobey
@@RagingBlazeBloodBaka I meant he will go to alternate universe where his fate changed that's what happened to all the villains in no way home because they got cured so they never become bad guy
i love this, probably the best soundtrack ever for any villain.
Electro's>
Sandman for the win. His theme is heartbreaking like davy jones. Electro's theme is also cool though
Am I the only one who thinks this would make a great theme for Mr. Freeze?
i can see that
You're not alone. This music connects the villain with those he loves, particularly Victor and Nora Fries.
Same
Yeh melting hahah
definetly
Sandman, the best character and part of spider man 3. His story even though it wasn't focused on much. Was still breathtaking. The emotions were the only thing what made the film great.
Spider-Mans fake swag wrecked it.
Ha you could be right.
+Keyda SoulReader if you think about it, if venom and everything to do with him wasnt in the movie and it was just sandman and spiderman, it wouldve been fantastic. easily as good as the first two.
Keyda SoulReader debatable
Here after watching new NWH trailer i hope the theme is played in the movie
Sandman was done right in SM3 they have to put that godly theme
This actually seems like the theme for when you've faced nothing but hurt, pain and betrayal over the course of many years in your life and you reflect back to when times were more happy and at least somewhat optimistic.
The Birth of Sandman is the best scene in Spider-Man 3. So artistically done and this music is amazing! Absolutely beautiful!
He's back! Thomas Haden Church returns!!!
YES!!
😢 😭 YESS
when he makes human form and grabs the locket
I cry. all the time
Same here
That's why he is the best spiderman's villain... cause he have an good purpose but only a bad way to reach this
His theme has marked me since childhood, it alone transmits so many emotions. If only the character had been more developed instead of Venom, we certainly could have had one of the best Spider-Man villains.
"I'm not a bad man, just a man with bad luck." Those hurt the most since he was trying to get money for his daughter
How dare you say R.I.P. this Spiderman series was a big part of my childhood and always will be!!! For me it will always live on in my heart
Imagine if Spider-Man 3 had JUST Sandman and Vulture as villains. Like Raimi wanted.
Still would have been overcrowded with a Harry Osborn Subplot

Perfect cast,
@@JakobIsOkay whats the news
There's rumors he might return in No Way Home
Here after No Way Home trailer, and possible sandman appearance!
I really wish we could have seen a movie with just sandman and no venom it could have been the perfect movie.
I want to hear 2:50 in No Way Home so badly. Just, imagine the nostalgia. If you're born at 2000 or earlier, you must've watched this somewhere in your elementary age. Now we're gonna experience it in our 20s
Maybe that part will be where sandman teams with the sinister 5
I only ask NWH for one thing: That the themes of the previous films are respected. Seriously, if you give Sandman some generic ass music instead of this absolute masterpiece, I will riot.
I was born in 2005 and I tell you what this soundtrack has stayed with me for as long as I can remember, never has a piece of music affected me so deeply
Without going into too much detail, the same kind of horns are used in a scene or two with Sandman in No Way Home.
Not quite this theme but reminiscent of it.
Hope that helps 😁
@@DrKnockers05 yea but imagine if it did make it like damn the instruments were there and it only played 4 notes
the whole soundtrack gets me nostalgic. this one though, this one hits home man

THEORY: Sandman in No Way Home is pulled into the MCU at the the point in time where he is “killed” by Black Suit Spidey in the subway. This explains why he’s hostile because he hadn’t been redeemed yet and believes he was mercilessly murdered by Spider-Man.
EDIT: Welp, it was a good guess based on the trailers, but I’m actually glad I was wrong and he wasn’t evil in the movie.
that is a very good theory
That a very credible theory
Yeah that could be
But at that time sandman doesn't even know spiderman's face yet, moreover his name

Every time I hear this it makes me want to cry.
Childhood memories are coming back to me ❤
I’m not the bad guy...I just had bad luck
-Sandman
“My daughter was dying. I needed money. I was scared.”

This is the most beautiful score in film
I've felt so emotional in the cinema as a kid
This theme, man. Few have ever made me cry like this one (and it's from one of my least favourite films of all time). Masterpiece 👏
Coming back after almost 15 years 😢 😭
As I listen to this, I picture what I would've done at the end of the end of Spider-Man 3 if I were the director.
I can imagine it dude...
Someone get this person a medal
"I'm not asking you for forgiveness...I just wanted you to understand.."
I legit cried at that part. An moment of understanding between both Peter and Flint Marko.
I forgive you, that line is always the best medicine for anyone.
He returns!!
It was pretty clear to see which villain the director wanted and which villain was forced to be included for the sake of it.
Makes you wonder what Sam Raimi saw in Sandman.
@@virgogaming6488 He said he found Sandman visually interesting, and I agree he certainly is. The way he approached it was pretty good, someone who’s “falling apart” but “trying to keep himself together” physically and mentally.
But good to see a not so popular villain for a change.

What a piece of music.
There’s a main reason why Sandman is the most relatable villain…
_He’s basically a dad who wants to be with his daughter. I mean, who wouldn’t?_
"Let me get this straight. You think Spider-Man 3 is good?"
I do. And I'm tired of pretending it's not.
