In college I switched to 3 subject spiral notebooks with plastic pocket dividers so I'd just bring one notebook for the classes I had that day. All notes in one place, handouts from teachers in the pockets. Done.
For my schedule in the beginning of the year, I take a picture on my phone of my schedule then set it as my background for my lock screen on my phone that way I can look at my lock screen and see my schedule and my phone is always in my pocket so I don't have to pull out a bunch of papers or binders

I know what you mean about the left-handed writing and smearing. I'm left-handed and I get stuff all over my hands too. Although, I find it happens more often with pens instead of pencils.
How I use my highlighters: This worked especially well for a course that contained progress checks in the text. 1. UNDERLINE section check material in BLUE highlighter 2. UNDERLINE volume check material in GREEN highlighter 3. HIGHLIGHT anything that was underlined twice with YELLOW highlighter This way, I could easily see the things that the course writer felt were most important. I could count on yellow being a test question and the blue or green maybe being a test question.

I used to write with mechanical pencils but recently switched to wooden pencils but the only thing I don't like about them is they can hurt my fingers so I need to use grippers.
The mechanical pencils I used had an eraser that could be twisted up so I wouldn't need an extra one but I recommend the white erasers that can be bought at staples because they erase completey

If I have a one inch binder for each class I use dividers with the tabs "notes" "class work" "homework" "tests/quizzes" and anything else I think is applicable

1.basically pay attention and DO NOT throw away everything, cause you've got finals! at my school(and I'm not sure what your school will do) you have finals for every subject and I threw away a bunch of papers that would've had me more prepared for the finals. 2. do ALL your homework! it will catch up to you at some point 3.enjoy high school, there's lots of fun things to do like: sports or be in clubs. but make sure your academic priorities are set.(:

Stay organized (like this binder method)! Take good notes! Thoroughly study for all your tests and quizzes! Review your notes that your teachers make your write down ('cause you may have a pop quiz)! And make sure your grades are your priorities, because grades do matter in high school! And do some extra curricular activities like volunteering, sports (optional), and joining clubs. Oh, and don't procrastinate. And basically enjoy these next 4 years, because it's one heck of a roller coaster ride!
1. First and above all: Give it all you got and try your very best. Don't put yourself down and try to compare yourselves to others, you are different from everyone else just like they are from you. 2. Try and do ALL of your homework. I know sometimes we may forget and that's okay, just talk to your teachers and see if they will let you make it up. Some is not that friendly. It's either make it or break it to them. (Me personally I don't like those kinds of teachers, sometimes problems occur in the life of teenagers. I had plenty of them my freshman year during 2nd semester. 3. Join clubs: They help relieve some stress. 4. Take some time off when it's necessary: Go watch a movie, take a hot bath, go to the mall. Don't procrastinate though if you have homework. What I do is as soon as I get an assignment or a project/paper I go and work as much as I can on it for one whole night until your bed time. Take breaks for bathroom and dinner and a breather too lol. That way you have knocked out say 6 hours of work. 5. Don't be afraid to talk to teachers: Teachers are there to help you, and they want to see you do well ( some of them anyway ). If you have questions about work, or problems in class talk to them, counselors, or adults. If you are confused on something and don't do it right like on projects/papers it could hurt your grade. Pay close attention to ALL instructions because each is worth points :) 6. Last just give it your best: We are all going to fail on something in life, and we learn lessons. It shapes us to the person we are. I will be a senior in high school next year plus a part-time college student in health science. Enjoy your high school experience and I hope it is a FANTASTIC one full of memories :)

That's right! Although, I do sometimes have trouble using them. Because the lead pushes back, which kind of upsets me especially sometimes when the eraser runs out. So, having lead refills does not hurt, in that case which some stores offers lead refills without re buying on pencils. However, I find myself writing with pen more, but not fan of pre filling with more ink. Usually but them in bulk, only when they are on sale or has lowest price. Writing in pen is so much better than in pencil...!
In Australia we only have 4 periods and in school wise we only have kindergarten, primary school, high school and university. I'm in year 9 this year so these videos for back to school organization are really help full.

Don't be nervous! I know it's scary but just be calm get your schedule find your classes and if you need help finding your way around, make yourself a map! It helps a lot! Find a friend or maybe if there is anyone else new there you two just find ur way around together! Most important just don't be scared! You will do fine!

The teachers in high school think they are being tough because college teachers are also tough. but that's not the case. most of my college teachers are chill and cool, especially since you can usually pick your teachers makes it easier
I watched this vid before I started 6th grade about a year ago. I told myself, I would get high grades and be organized at the same time. Yet everytime I look at my bag during 6th grade I can see pens, pencils, paper sketches and some crumbled paper in it. I just achieved high grades and Im thinking to myself now that Im coming to 7th grade is to stay organized again xD
Yes, yes, yes!Color code!!! In 5th grade my teachers assigned what color folders and notebooks we needed to get for each subject. Now 3 years later I still use the same colors because I don't need to think about it.

Dont worry, you will be fine. You just have to be confident when you go to middle school. When i started middle school 2 years ago, i was very nervous becuase i thought i wouldn't find my classes on time or make new friends and alot of things. But all u have to do is get to your class on time, make new friends, and be kind. But you will do great☺ and you know that. Just don't over think about it. Good luck
Don't be scared! Middle school isn't bad at all. I started middle school 3 years ago, and I was scared to death. But, when the first day was over, I was like, that wasn't bad at all! My tips would be, try to be open and make new friends. Because, if you make friends throughout middle school, then you might have them for high school, which is a plus. My other tip would be to not neglect your grades. I do know that grades don't really count until high school. But if you get into that habit of doing your homework and studying, then it will be much easier in high school to do those things. I wish you luck and have fun! Btw, I'm going into high school this year, and to be honest, I'm really scared! ;(

Use sheet protectors. No need for hole punching and your papers don't get destroyed from shuffling. I don't use a binder without them.

Oh, and don't procrastinate. And basically enjoy these next 4 years, because it's one heck of a roller coaster ride!
1. First and above all: Give it all you got and try your very best. Don't put yourself down and try to compare yourselves to others, you are different from everyone else just like they are from you.
2. Try and do ALL of your homework. I know sometimes we may forget and that's okay, just talk to your teachers and see if they will let you make it up. Some is not that friendly. It's either make it or break it to them. (Me personally I don't like those kinds of teachers, sometimes problems occur in the life of teenagers. I had plenty of them my freshman year during 2nd semester.
3. Join clubs: They help relieve some stress.
4. Take some time off when it's necessary: Go watch a movie, take a hot bath, go to the mall. Don't procrastinate though if you have homework. What I do is as soon as I get an assignment or a project/paper I go and work as much as I can on it for one whole night until your bed time. Take breaks for bathroom and dinner and a breather too lol. That way you have knocked out say 6 hours of work.
5. Don't be afraid to talk to teachers: Teachers are there to help you, and they want to see you do well ( some of them anyway ). If you have questions about work, or problems in class talk to them, counselors, or adults. If you are confused on something and don't do it right like on projects/papers it could hurt your grade. Pay close attention to ALL instructions because each is worth points :)
6. Last just give it your best: We are all going to fail on something in life, and we learn lessons. It shapes us to the person we are.
I will be a senior in high school next year plus a part-time college student in health science. Enjoy your high school experience and I hope it is a FANTASTIC one full of memories :)

That's right! Although, I do sometimes have trouble using them. Because the lead pushes back, which kind of upsets me especially sometimes when the eraser runs out. So, having lead refills does not hurt, in that case which some stores offers lead refills without re buying on pencils. However, I find myself writing with pen more, but not fan of pre filling with more ink. Usually but them in bulk, only when they are on sale or has lowest price. Writing in pen is so much better than in pencil...!

In Australia we only have 4 periods and in school wise we only have kindergarten, primary school, high school and university. I'm in year 9 this year so these videos for back to school organization are really help full.

Don't be nervous! I know it's scary but just be calm get your schedule find your classes and if you need help finding your way around, make yourself a map! It helps a lot! Find a friend or maybe if there is anyone else new there you two just find ur way around together! Most important just don't be scared! You will do fine!
Don't be nervous, I used to move schools every 2 years for god knows what reason but I don't think I'm moving this time, but the point is I was so nervous but last year was the best year of my entire life so be excited

well it depends what grade k-3 i used work book things our teacher gave us in 4-5 i used mainly notebooks and those flexible binder and in 6th and 7th grade i used like 4-6 binders for each subject
last year(6) i used 4 and i used 5 first semester and 6 for the 2nd semester

people say "wow middle school was the worst".... but... i think when i go into highschool it will be way way way worse :/ nothing that bad about middle school. The teachers in high school think they are being tough because college teachers are also tough. but that's not the case. most of my college teachers are chill and cool, especially since you can usually pick your teachers makes it easier

I watched this vid before I started 6th grade about a year ago. I told myself, I would get high grades and be organized at the same time. Yet everytime I look at my bag during 6th grade I can see pens, pencils, paper sketches and some crumbled paper in it. I just achieved high grades and Im thinking to myself now that Im coming to 7th grade is to stay organized again xD

Yes, yes, yes!Color code!!! In 5th grade my teachers assigned what color folders and notebooks we needed to get for each subject. Now 3 years later I still use the same colors because I don't need to think about it.

Don't worry about it last year was my first year just be nice to people but not to nice and get used to cussing it's not hard at all I was scared to but as soon as I sat down on the first day I felt fine 😄
Dont worry, you will be fine. You just have to be confident when you go to middle school. When i started middle school 2 years ago, i was very nervous becuase i thought i wouldn't find my classes on time or make new friends and alot of things. But all u have to do is get to your class on time, make new friends, and be kind. But you will do great☺ and you know that. Just don't over think about it. Good luck

Don't be scared! Middle school isn't bad at all. I started middle school 3 years ago, and I was scared to death. But, when the first day was over, I was like, that wasn't bad at all! My tips would be, try to be open and make new friends. Because, if you make friends throughout middle school, then you might have them for high school, which is a plus. My other tip would be to not neglect your grades. I do know that grades don't really count until high school. But if you get into that habit of doing your homework and studying, then it will be much easier in high school to do those things. I wish you luck and have fun! Btw, I'm going into high school this year, and to be honest, I'm really scared! ;(
