I think, when she confessed that she had no friends to be with, maybe that's why she wanted to be with the boy forever and to get her own baby so that she had 'someone' to be happily with. She's hurt inside and the only way to feel better is to have her 'own' family and be happy. I agree that Tyra said change her willingness to a different path. In a good way of course, which is to find new good friends and enjoy a teenage life before it ends.
I didn't have a dad, and I've gone through the same thing. Here's why: The love for family is so deep, especially if it is your child. Many children/adults who were abandoned at a young age want to create the deep love of a family member by having a child. We think that love will cure us. To be honest, she seems pretty mature in her mind for being 15--I didn't get "baby fever" until I was around 21 and I have Major abandonment issues.
I think she should finish school first. Her and her fiancee should stay together but if he loves her as much as he says he dose he would encourage her to finish school and even do everything he can to help her with her schooling then once she graduates and is working then get married so the two of you can support each other in your goals. I remember being Young and wanting to get married I got married 3 years after high school I was 21 it was a year after I had my son and because my boyfriend the baby's dad didn't want responsibility he forced me to give him up. I was young and scared of what might happen I was scared of being a single mom. I am 30 and in my 2nd marriage. I regret giving up my son every day of my life. I was young. And even at 21 I still was not mature enough. I think if I wouldn't have been in such a hurry to get married I think my life might have been a lot different I would listen more to my mom I and I might have been a lot happier and i would have my son and not gone though that heart ache that i now have to live with. please wait at least until she finishs school and the two of you can better support yourselves I wish you both the very best
I can actually relate to her situation a litle bit. She's such an innocent, good-natured girl, but she's got her heart in the wrong place. I hope everything turns out okay for her.
coming from a guy who spent his summer nights watching dr phil AND tyra clips such as these on youtube unti 4 a.m. i realize that tyra banks is actually really good at what she does, is funny about it and usually doesnt try getting too serious to the point of bore! tyra is talented and she deserves a show....i might need her help so she can tell me if im a homesexual now for getting way too into these shows.....>.>
"It doesn't make me write off every single girl, It makes me say those are bad girls and I'm gonna find some good ones." Tyra Banks, you make me have faith in our society again.
Tyra was explaining that the girl didn't feel loved or needed and so instead of working to fix her issues overtime, like a wound healing slowly, she wants to have a baby and get married as a quick fix so that she feels secure and loved. But Tyra was saying that's only temporary solution/distraction to her issues, like sticking a bandaid on a wound and that in the long term marriage and babies won't be the bandaid she was hoping for, she won''t be able to cope and all her problems will resurface.
I just got married at 22. I spent 5 years with my husband before we got married. We live life together, and grew up together. They need to just enjoy life and grow together. Babies can come later.
I'm eighteen. I'm living with my boyfriend, I'm going to college, he's working, and we are extremely happy the way things are right now. We both agree that we are nowhere near ready to get married and when it comes to babies... Puh-lease!!! We don't even THINK about that right now! Right now we're focusing on school and work, and we're the happiest we've ever been.
I feel sad for her now. So many people are judging her, but the truth comes out: she wants someone who needs her, someone who is tied to her and has to love her. She's sick of people leaving her lonely and confused. I think we all want stability and support in our life, she's just going about it the wrong way.
This little girl reminds me of me. When I was 17 I got into a serious relationship and ended up with the guy for almost 7 years because I just wanted someone to escape the life that I had. I wanted children straight away at 17. I wanted someone to dote on. I wanted someone to love. And I wanted to be a good mum and a good wife. I wanted to prove to everyone I could do these things without others. This little girl needs help. Therapy is making a huge difference for me and it would for her.
I'm 20 years old. I don't care if I'm in a relationship or not. If you have amazing friends, that's all you really need anyway. I never want children (and I've always had this view, since I was 7 years old). The way I see it, go out and have fun. Explore the world. Once you have children, doing that becomes a lot harder to do. Raising kids is a lot harder than this girl could ever imagine. TRULY RAISING them..
WOW, I'm 20 and have been married for almost 2 years and my husband, he has a job that he is guaranteed not to lose, we both have medical benefits from it, it pays for our housing, but I still don't think we're ready to be parents. She seems like a sweet girl, but I don't think the grasps how difficult it will be. GO TYRA for hopefully helping her to realize what she is doing, and that she isn't ready to be married or be a mom.
I don't know why people diss Tyra's show so much. I think she's great. She may be 'bias' but she is allowed her opinions and allowed to give her own advice, it is her show.
im 16 and i dont want to get married even in 20 years! i want to complete my education and get a job..i want to travel the world and live my dreams..i wanna have fun..i want to make a change in this world to prove to ppl that i can do anything! this is what she has to do! she has to grow up in the right way.
Tyra even worked towards making her emotional (which worked) in the previous part just to get the audience hooked. While that move was beneficial in getting the audience to understand the frailty of the situation, I'm thinking it was probably a tactic to get more views, but I could be wrong.
It's nice to hear those words, Tyra's advice. I'm 18, and I've had some of the same urgings as this kid. It's my life's dream to be a mommy and have a family.. and it's hard for me to postpone, but I do, because I know it's the right thing. I'm going through college, and the man I'm with is so supportive and so mature, he always tells me that we must wait to get married until we have a steady stream of income and are out of college. I feel so bad for this girl who doesn't get those privileges :(
My thoughts to this show is that they both are not ready. And here's why, they both talk like little kids and the way they answer doesn't seem adult like. I'm sorry and feel bad for her for not having a father. I myself look younger than my age range so people treat me like a kid and I'm proud of it. I love it. I hope that they both realize something now they are adults.
I understand how she feels. Not feeling that you are loved or wanted can make you do crazy things. a baby is something that a women can give all the love she has inside to. and in return that baby will love her unconditionally (or until puberty). And for a girl who has no friends, feels ugly, and comes from a dysfunctional home, that idea is very appealing. We can't just write this girl off as a freak. She's hurting. I hope the Tyra show offered some counseling to her and her loved ones.
i think the best thing for them to do is stay together and just wait until shes 18 to get married and have a kid. she'll have a driver's license and be old enough to get a job so they can both support a child and eachother by that time. and it will also give them plenty of time to decide if its still what they want because lets be real, when you're a teenager you dont have your whole life figured out and you may even change your mind like night and day.
I am 20, almost 21, and i want to live my life for me right now. I am a junior in college. i can't and don't want to have a baby now. i got my whole life to life for that, and i don't want that because i don't have the resources like money or education to properly care for and financially support a kid. so i applaud all the girls who don't want to have a baby and get married so young. live your life. before you know it its gone.
Life is about living in the moment. Enjoying yourself. Don't grow up to fast. Cause you can only grow up never down. If you try to go to fast you will pass by all the good things in life.
I don't have friends, I don't have a boyfriend, I don't really do much but work. I've been bullied, I've had my Dad to bad things. Etc etc, I have delt with a lot of crap. But at 19, I am not ready to have babies! I want to get my life sorted before I even think about getting in to a relationship. Young girls need to stop worrying about growing up so fast.
Completely agree. I'm 14 and I've only had 1 boyfriend and that didn't work out so I'm waiting for the right guy and not looking for anyone at all right now,
i'm 13 and my father died when i was 4 years old, i don't even have a boyfriend or want a kid. Really... I can bearly keep track of myself and school work... i have to look after myself and handel myself before others.
the awkward moment when your scroll down, ready to read comments scolding the poor love-deprived girl, but you see people talking about which animal suits her most... .___."
Age doesn't decide maturity. If these two were really mature, they would have thought everything out first. How would they support themselves, how would they support their baby, where they're gonna live, ect. ect. They just think it'll be easy because right now their situation is easy. Plus, I think school is very important so they really should focus on that, especially the girl, being so young and not even out of high school yet. (idk if they guy is out or not.) I love Tyra! She's gorgeous lol
the emotional scars of bullying and seclusion. And where's his mother and father? I'm the same age as him and I still want my mam most days! He is NOT a mature adult! some one needs to support both of these kids and ensure that they grow up healthy with proper morals! this shit is cray!
i'm 15, i don't want a baby or marriage i mean from all the jerks at my school i barely want a boyfriend. sure i have crushes but when i spend time with the guys i just notice how much trouble they are and i know i wanna wait till i'm 23 to get married and 25 to have babies, those are pretty much the perfect ages
If you cannot love yourself first for who you are, even with the history of hurts and emptiness, then you cannot give good love to others, even if you become a parent at a young age. You cannot love yourself through others; you first love yourself correctly so that you can love others.
I feel for her that her dad isn't a part of her life, I can't imagine how hard that must be for her. I just see so many girls and guy these days who come from broken families that rush into relationships and sex because they need to feel loved. if you rush into relationships because of your own insecurity how will you be able to love someone else fully or even take a care of a baby when you don't love yourself. you know im 13 and i DO NOT want to have kids until maybe im in my late late 20s or in my 30s, i DO NOT want to have a bf until AFTER college or like last years of college, i dont know what goes through these kids heads... this is a really strange world we live in.. :/
You do have a point in your last sentence. However, most faithfuls, who actually care about faith, wait until marriage. Plus, if these teens were ACTUALLY hyper-religious, or faithful, they wouldn't even be having sex. What most likely happens is they are raised in their faiths, but don't really care about it, and because they don't care for it, they end up doing things like sex or drugs BECAUSE they have been raised/forced into their faiths and have not experienced the world as it is today.
Seriously, I 100% agree that getting a puppy would be a great idea for anyone who young who wants a baby! I got pregnant at 15 and had an abortion(horrible mistake in my past) but then afterward I had a want to get pregnant again to raise a baby(maternal instinct i guess)...So I got a puppy! I been raising him ever since & it's even better than a baby! Im 18 right now, but jeez I can barley afford a dog! let a lone a baby! really teaches a good lesson!
when she was like "You took a pregnancy test before the show, and you were wondering if you were pregnant. Want me to tell you if you are or not?" I was getting ready for her to be like you are pregnant and I was gonna be like "OHHH GET PWNED! HA!"
sad thing is that lot of girl these days are like that wanting to get married or to have babies loneliness strike the hearts of many girls and they only try to find a way out
I think, when she confessed that she had no friends to be with, maybe that's why she wanted to be with the boy forever and to get her own baby so that she had 'someone' to be happily with. Tyra would make an amazing mother.
100% parents fault
Nick Ayers parents can't control everything, they are human too and can make mistakes.
Her mom is indulgent
If it was my mom, she would call the police and suit him and his parents
Exactly! Finally someone who just gets it.
Aww. I'd be friends with her :( I don't really have any either. Lol.
i love tyra even more!!!
good positive words frm Tyra...
I understand how she feels, about not having friends. It's so hard to find genuine friendships
When the blonde audience member gives advice: Tyra:did u hear anything different in her voice?
Girl: yeah, I heard a British accent!
I didn't have a dad, and I've gone through the same thing. Here's why: The love for family is so deep, especially if it is your child. I love Tyra. She is so smart, sensitive and polite.

At moments, yes (:
IM 15 and i cant even take care of my room and keep it organized!!!! my god!!!
She looks really relieved when Tyra says she's not pregnant. Like it's finally starting to dawn on her that this might not be a good plan...
"It doesn't make me write off every single girl,
It makes me say those are bad girls and I'm gonna find some good ones."
Tyra Banks, you make me have faith in our society again.

tyra is so smart omg i love her. even though this video is old it still totally applies to everyone,
I wonder what we'll be their reaction if they see this video in 10 years time!
I just got married at 22. I spent 5 years with my husband before we got married. We live life together, and grew up together. They need to just enjoy life and grow together. Babies can come later.

you're absolutely right. I am very happy that you found someone who respects you so much. I wish I had someone like that. You are a very lucky woman.
Tyra is so sweet, wish i had a mom like her
my dad died when i was five so pull your self together and be happy for what you have.

Tyra is such an inspiration.
i agree Tyra would be an amazing mother and a great role model

That is so sweet! :) Keep the relationship the way it is until both of you are ready and you'll be golden.

Tyra is an amazing person
Ah i love tyra! she is so kind but also extremely honest and frank. i really hope that Kaitlyn has found her way and chosen to do the right thing...
I love Tyra! She is the best! :D

Tyra give Awesome hands to them, fantastic show
i think the best thing for them to do is stay together and just wait until shes 18 to get married and have a kid. she'll have a driver's license and be old enough to get a job so they can both support a child and eachother by that time. and it will also give them plenty of time to decide if its still what they want because lets be real, when you're a teenager you dont have your whole life figured out and you may even change your mind like night and day.

I think this girl just needed someone to show her the way, which Tyra did. Tyra would clearly make an awesome mom or older sister (:
Tyra would make an AMAZING mom
LMFAO...that australian girl killed me. I just bursted out laughing and couldnt stop laughing.
Heartbreaking story. She came on the show confident, but left with new ideas.
Completely agree. I'm 14 and I've only had 1 boyfriend and that didn't work out so I'm waiting for the right guy and not looking for anyone at all right now,
LOL, I love your picture!
Just so all of you know, if she doesn't make a case out of it, he'll never go to jail.
YEAAH AUSSIE ACCENT!! :) was not expecting that
I can't even take care of pou: the little virtual alien on my phone! x
Tyra is too awesome X)
i'm 13 and my father died when i was 4 years old, i don't even have a boyfriend or want a kid. Really... I can bearly keep track of myself and school work... i have to look after myself and handel myself before others.
I feel Tyra is counsellor than a host :D she is great!
....Yet so many are eager to get on Teen mom or atleast watch it every day!!!!
Tyra's hair is fabulous
the awkward moment when your scroll down, ready to read comments scolding the poor love-deprived girl, but you see people talking about which animal suits her most... .___."
Tyra is completely right!
tyra is going to be such a good mother
Age doesn't decide maturity. If these two were really mature, they would have thought everything out first. Hi im from australia and im so happy *grin*. Makes me feel sick lol
Tyra is so much smarter than I thought she was.
If you cannot love yourself first for who you are, even with the history of hurts and emptiness, then you cannot give good love to others, even if you become a parent at a young age. You cannot love yourself through others; you first love yourself correctly so that you can love others.
Tyra saved de day!!!
i just love tyra xxxxx :)
Seriously, couldn't agree more.
In the US, its very young getting married at 23, 24 like that. My sis got married at 28. But in other countries its very different. My great grandma, my grandma, and my mom grew up in India most of thier lives. Great-grandma was engadged at 9, Gradma was married at 13 and my mom was married at 18. But that is India. This is the US and it has a very different economy, you can't live off of minimum wage while supporting a child.
Pain makes you strong! Some pain makes people crazy
So true...and people are deceived and don't realize it.
I'm saying respect those who wait, and I will respect those who don't. And it is all about a matter of opinion. I applaud those who wait because not waiting has become expected. If you were ready at 17, good for you.
TOTALLY, she's awesome !
Touche! They're cuter, and like you said, they give people love even though they never deserved any.
you know im 13 and i DO NOT want to have kids until maybe im in my late late 20s or in my 30s, i DO NOT want to have a bf until AFTER college or like last years of college, i dont know what goes through these kids heads... this is a really strange world we live in.. :/
WOHOOOO AUSSIE ON TYRA SHOW!!!!!
lmfao! love the look on the moms face when they announced she wasnt prego LMFAO
It's so cute when Tyra thinks she's a psychologist.
haha. I love her, though. :)
A. Her mom already tried to tell her.
B. Teenagers listen to everybody BUT their parents. It's just what they do.
