Hardman always had phenomenal chops but a sound that was more "crisp" than full. But about this time he began to develop a more open, Clifford-like sound to go with his lightning fast articulations and endless store of melodic ideas. His eventual meeting up with Charlie Rouse was a near-perfect match of two underrated giants. David Schnitter had excellent control of his top tones in the altissimo register, frequently alternating between the lowest and highest notes in rapid succession. Listening to him from the uppermost balcony at Carnegie Hall, we were all on our feet cheering and applauding. He made 4 albums under his own name for Muse, but last I looked (3 decades later) none had been reissued on CD.

Think IN a sentimental moods on their too. Mr. cohen sounds reminescent, would love to track that lp down. And Mark you are brillant, THANK u
