Mark Martin should not only be immediately removed as a judge, but he should be charged with felonies as he support felons (assaulting someone is a felon).

Let me get this straight, the defense atty thinks that the "ruling" was valid. Well, then I guess if he offends me then I can physically attack him, and since the judge thinks so too, then if he offends me I can physically attack him too. What is going on here? This judge is a wonderful example of judicial activism. He does not make the law, it is his job to follow it regardless of his personal beliefs. If he can't do that then he needs to resign as a judge. Also, this isn't about who was offended. This isn't about how to respond to being offended. This is about assault and battery. This is about breaking the law and not being punished. Period. This judge also talked about anti-blasphemy laws in Islamic countries that he lived in and told the person who was assaulted that if this was a Muslim country that he would have been put to death. I would love a statement from this judge explaining how any of this is relevant, and where in our law any of this is applicable, and what his justification for his dismissal was.
You have 'learned' incorrectly. The audio was not altered. He indeed said he was a muslim, but he was just rambling and probably didn't mean to.
In any event, he's no longer a judge, so it all worked out in the end.
Here is a question if a Cathloc had done this to the zombie Pope would the judge have dismissed this.
I find it hard to side with Atheistic who are almost as intolerant as islmaists but in this case I am forced to.

I have learned that Judge Mark Martin is a Lutheran, not a Muslim. The audio recording showing Martin was a Muslim was altered.
Conservatives pick Judge Martin to be a whipping boy for their phantom encroaching Sharia law. That is a joke. I do have a problem with Judge Martin chastising Perce for offending Islamic sensitivities, that is it. I have no opinion whether dismissing charges was wrong.
