It's a free 20x or more on bug breaches. It's in one of my recurring "loadouts" when I play against terminids, I love to pair it with another low cooldown orbital and spam combine them Using it with the blitzer is also incredible, often gets me 800+ kills per games (considering I mostly play duo in lvl 8)
I wish the DSS allowed us to have unlimited stratagems usage. Like when we donated orbital option, it should have our orbital stratagems to have no cooldown whatsoever. Can you imagine, to constantly throw a naplam barrage every time it ends.
Gas is absolutely NOT useless on bots. It's actually quite effective for anything up to tanks. I've even confused a gun tower with it, and if it lands just right it can destroy fabs.

arrowhead put in constant, random, unavoidable, instant, no telegraph, 1hit death. if it was like meteor strike at least you could try to avoid it. right now you just explode w no warning. you're forced to use the Explosion Resist % armor if you dont want to constantly die.
if you pay in to unlock planetary bombardment maybe it should give you an extra stratagem with it and it works as a much more powerful and slightly less concentrated version of the next best artillery, 380. Not so wide a range that it hits the entire map, but is still a bit wider than 380. Make it so it's so powerfully dense that it does more than the 380 by a respectable amount so people feel they got what they paid for, and by having it as an extra slot from the dss it is nice just for that. This works as a hilarious meme for the first few days of gameplay but it's gonna suck fast after that so I hope they fix it in time so that it isn't horrible for everyone before they make it good. There's a sweet spot that they're probably already missing the window of where it was funny and then is good, while mostly skipping the part where people are annoyed by it without any bright side.

They should of released it day 1 of freedom of escalation and all this time they could of used it buffing and adding new content like new types of planets, stratagems, enemies, vehicles and weapons
Games getting stale. More warbonds won’t help. We need actual new content, stratagems, enemies, missions, new points of interest on the maps to spice things up.
I have no idea how this got past any internal design review at the studio. We have made it clear that we don't like random events we can't control and here we have a station we had to spend two months grinding mindless missions for, which does nothing but fire down random death upon players. Mind boggling for Arrowhead.
I suspect that we are simply super testing the station and once they have super calibrated it we will be able to better liberate relenless expansionists, such as the terminids.
I would love for AH to come out and said just what exactly mind-controlled them to do so. "We think it would've been fun, because XYZ" If they cannot defend a near-perpetual 380 on player's head, then why did it pass the design documents? The worst case scenario (minus self-sabotage, which is a route I won't go, because I could hardly believe it) is that the play testing consisted of the following: - Devs boot up a mission - things explode around them blowing them up in the process - devs go "haha, so funny. People will love randomly being blown to bits" - Ship it! Must be a success, because players love "lol, memes!1!
I don't mind it if they added a laser where it's going to drop or something! Like the meteors and the glow indicator, it's great.. nonstop raining death with no indicators is annoying.
I think if they just had "we have been approved for orbital bombardments and are giving you more redeploys" it would work. Of course worded more in democratic/helldiver fashion
I think it should give you an extra stratagem available when you’re on that planet like 240mm or just 380mm orbital or eagle strike with the other ability.
Pro tip: take the shield generator pack, it will save your ass from everything other than a direct impact (or landmines) I havent died once to the planetary bombardment, but I did die to a fucking landmine so theres that.
I feel like the only change needed is " make helldivers invulnerable to bombardment " and people would be okay with that, it's unrealistic, but it's better then RNG death

It's hilarious to watch helldivers get blown to smithereens by it. It sucks if you're the one playing it. I get that HD2 is built around the whole premise of "everything will kill you", but this is like a planet modifier that picks a random helldiver every five minutes and simply kills them. I like the concept of it, but this needs some kind of telegraphing or something. Not getting killed by it has to be a skill you can somehow learn, but pure randomness. As you said, the loss of control is the issue here.
Now it feels like a real war Except it's homing and follows you...like the random homing patrols that feel like they're back. The DSS is okay, could be better

Time to go back to 20k divers. This absolutely kills all momentum and desire to play. When you put in thousands of combined diver hours to get a reward and get a punishment instead, you can't help but to be pissed.

Feels like it needs at the minimum a perimeter of safety around the player. the "helldivers are expendable" thing is funny until you die one too many times to it and have to wait 2 minutes per spawn. I like the idea of the players not controlling when it shoots, but I don't care for it killing me over and over. This will not make me stop playing, but I'll just play on other planets lmao I also like the idea of a giant laser, could be a mission where you activate the spot and have like 5 minutes to get to the other side of the map before half of it gets blown up by the laser or something The "team enabled stratagem" idea is the type of thing that sounds good on paper but will be terrible in actual gameplay. What if you don't want to play at 4 players? what if you have that one person who's not paying attention or all the way at the other side of the map? what if the team is split up? what if 1 person disagrees with the target and refuses to launch their strategem? There's way too many factors for this to become annoying, and I think adding features that can cause friction between players in a PvE is not the best idea

The bombardmens are not random ! It actually aims at one player and strike in a cercle around him at roughtly 100m. But if you move too fast or not together there's good chance someone will get hit. So for now, you have to travel in group and no running allowed... Good luck divers. You'll need it 'till they fix it
We shouldn't have saved the children and the refugees. The DSS got staffed with all those untrained people and they got the kids replaying the AC-130 Gunship mission from COD. Got killed more by the DSS in one mission than the bots over the course of a week. It is a troll device, hopefully no one wastes resources on it next time around and only goes for helpful bonuses.
Honestly the whole thing was very lazy. The just reused the orbital barrage and eagle airstrike with no modification. Its like theyre running out of ideas or initiative. If you really think about it all they did was create a 3d model of a space station and an interface for donating resources and voting. Otherwise in game nothing changed, the same assets are being used. If they wanted to be lazy they couldve atleast given us the weapon choice like napalm orbitals or other eagle strikes since theyre doing nothing but reusing assets. That way we atleast have some control over the madness, but now its just random explosions that blow you up. Devs need to pick up development pace

I got upset I died 6 times to it in a mission last night, but thinking about it today I think it's just a skill issue. Need to adjust my play style to compensate. Going to have to adapt my loadout for it.

More than that it straight up kills all the weaker enemies, and over halves the health of most of the medium ones with just a touch.

ive been saying for month that the DSS was a joke of "content" i also got banned off the DC for saying "L woke take" the game and the community has a toxic positivity problem and AH sucks are content flow for a LIVE SERVICE
I got upset I died 6 times to it in a mission last night, but thinking about it today I think it's just a skill issue. Need to adjust my play style to compensate. Going to have to adapt my loadout for it.
