The difference is that we can apply to postgraduate program as long as is it approved by the College. We're also encourage to work in public setting, of course in the government and undeserving areas but we can practice privately naman in the long run...
I saw you are from WVSU po, may I ask about the RSA for DDM there? I'm quite confused whether it has salary or it is a volunteer service, and how many years it will take. My sister passed DDM this year but still unsure whether to pursue it or choose nursing.
@@princessalejaga1943 Oh, so state university too! How cool. 😊 Your return of service seems like a really long time but I guess it helps that you’re allowed to take a masters or residency.
what if there's a scenario that I'm in a 2nd,3rd, 4th year dentistry in up then suddenly need to migrate abroad? agad agad hmmm it's that prohibited and need to pay to up? 🥺 and also what if wala pang 5 years service sa philippines after grumaduate but need to go abroad na to migrate? its that still prohibited and need to pay for up? 🥺
If your school’s contract is similar to mine then yes, you would need to pay to leave school after 60 units. As for completing all the years of your return service, I think we would also need to pay for the time we don’t fulfill.
hello doc, nice to meet you🤗 im general dentist from iran, i want to enroll postgraduate course(oral and maxillofacial surgery) in UP. could you guide me ,how can i apply and what are the steps that should i follow? thanks🙏
Hello! Unfortunately, UP does not have an oral and maxillofacial surgery program. I’m not familiar with the surgery programs in the Philippines so you’ll have to do your research online there.
hii, I'm an incoming UP student but in Diliman campus po, and I passed on a different course. If in case I really want to pursue the dentistry program in UPM, is it possible to shift within less than 2 years, or need po na magstay muna ko sa course ko in UPD for 2 years po muna? Thank you so much
I heard that you can only shift after 2 years. But if you want to be sure, I suggest you visit the Office of the College Secretary at the UP College of Dentistry and talk to them directly about the process :)
Hi! What bachelor degree did u choose in UP manila? Also, what career in dentistry u choose po?? If after po ba magtake ng bachelor degree need pa ba magtake ng master degree? Actually my dream is to be an orthodontist so im watching here for future purposes. Thank u so much for helping me a lot. Godbless!❤
Hello! So dentistry is my undergrad in UP manila. After you graduate and pass the board exam, you’ll be a licensed dentist so a master’s degree is not necessary to practice as a general dentist. However, if you want to become a specialist like an orthodontist, you do need to take a post-graduate degree program to become one; and these programs are typically 2-4 years long, depending on the specialty. There are specific programs for each specialty (orthodontics, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, etc.). I think I want to specialize in periodontology so I’ll eventually go back to school for that. 😊
@@joabmalibiran210 I guess my question to you is, what kind of education do you want? And how much do you want to be a dentist? I’m not going to lie and say that you can become a dentist if hindi ka matalino because dentistry is hard and becoming any type of doctor requires lifelong learning. You will be studying a lot. I guess you should also ask yourself if you like or are willing to spend your days studying a lot. Dentists are doctors. Would you ask this question of somebody who is in medical school? As for the mental health aspect, students from other schools also suffer from mental health issues. And not all students in UPM have mental health issues. Dental school will stress you out and you will have good days and hard days. Whether or not you go to UP or take up dentistry, you still need to equip yourself with the tools you will need to care for your mental health. There are so many factors that go into the question of mental health. I’m sorry na ang haba ng sagot ko but your questions are very complex. @@joabmalibiran210 ahh I understand. Well, I can only speak for myself and I haven’t lost my soul. Hahaha If I’m being completely honest with myself, I’m happy that I’m in UP and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My main considerations in choosing UP are the training and education. I’ve definitely had to toughen up during my stay but I’m hoping that I get a good career out of it. I could go on and on about UP’s problems (and life would’ve been better without them) but I’m not going to fix them so I focus on myself nalang. 😊
It feels true for some people but everyone graduates eventually! 😅 I don’t know what the official statistics are for number of students who get delayed and how long they are delayed but it is common (like me for example). But my personal mindset is: a lot of students are able to graduate maybe one year delayed and this also happens commonly in other schools. So I have to focus and work toward graduating asap. As much as I wish UP could solve its own problems, I have to be realistic. I want the education that UP gives me so I endure.
No need to apologize, Doc!! Glad to have another video! 💕
Just needed a short break ☺️
