That Pulse Ox bit killed me 😂 A less embarrassing one: when I first got my watch I thought the pace was decimalised, so I was running at 6 min/km, then it jumped to 5:55 min/km and I thought I'd sped up massively without realising. That happened for a couple of months before I realised 😅
I am not surprised that you already have one million on your podcasts. You guys are such fun to listen or watch. As for the gym, try with a group, I do CrossFit a couple of times a week and it’s fantastic. Because jumping on a box alone is not gratifying but when you or someone else in 5he group goes to a higher box, it’s noticeably more fun. 🎉
Everyone has a sin that is ice bath worthy. Andy for being cheeky and sneaking his way to the front of park runs Sarah for missing all her strength and conditioning days And Rick for all his dang hilarious jokes Can't wait to see it!
Guys definitely come to the Bressay Parkrun in Shetland!!! We’ll see you there. We’ll discuss the politics of the start time as well on the ferry back to the mainland 😂
Suggestion for a longer term challenge for this year to target weaknesses: sarah starts a strength training plan with regular gym workouts, andy takes on a trail marathon or spartan/obstacle course race with elevation gain, and rick has to learn and then teach us about running metrics and how to personalise our garmin watches 😂 the one who tackles their weaknesses best wins the challenge
Congratulations on the 1M. I love watching on RUclips to see all of your reactions. That episode was so funny. Ox 😂😂 Come to Royal Tunbridge Wells for a hilly but scenic Parkrun 😀 Sarah with S&C you could try turning it into either something fun or something functional. So either go with others and make it an outing to look forward to, or do it at home and combine with chores or things you need to do each week like cleaning or laundry, possibly equally as hateful but you’re getting 2 things done at the same time, bonus 🎉 I like balancing on one leg at a time while cleaning my teeth in the morning 😀 For the ice-bath. I think Rick and Andy should do it. I feel the need to stand up for my fellow Sarah 😘 Sarah J x
Ice bath: easy, the three of you at the start and end of the programme. Thanks for bringing some laughter to the end of the year. Instead of beer mile, it could be gavi mile. just saying
Congratulations on the million milestone, love to listen to the podcast, always has me laughing 😆. It would be awesome to do some parkrun meet ups, perhaps in a few different locations around the country to give subscribers a chance to get to them. Well done to all involved.
Congrats on the 1 million downloads - love the podcast (watching and listening). Come to Guernsey parkrun - it's a 9am start! Anna went to Jersey parkrun a few years ago, so I feel it's only fair you come to Guernsey. Sarah to do the ice bath - it's not personal Sarah, just that I'm sure Andy would have done them 'back in the day' and I recall Rick doing one in a previous video 🥶
Thank you for all you guys do! Once I started focusing on strength a lot of my pain went away, especially focusing on hip strength. Runna has great strength workouts. I do all of my strength workouts at home with limited equipment. Also, yoga is helpful.
Congratulations on 1 million downloads! So well deserved. I watched all the episodes on RUclips and then went and listened to the rest on Spotify. The banter is top notch and I learn something every week. Thank you for making such a wonderful podcast and bringing so much joy to my long runs and gym sessions.
Great work, amazing podcast! You should come to Philips Park parkrun in Manchester next year, fairly new parkrun (40 events to date) and quite nice one.
If you're doing a Parkrun together next year, I'd suggest Phillips Park, Manchester. It's got some horribly steep hills! (quite a new, quieter Parkrun too!)
Thank you for what you all do. It’s been helpful and motivating for me on my running journey. As for who I think should take an ice bath…. That would have to be Rick 🎉
Hopefully you come up to the north east sometime next year for some events Maybe even the Great North Run Sarah, you should go for a PB here or all run it together
If you want to do Melbourne it starts at 8am and is round albert park, dead flat. Brisbane might be a better challange starting at SIX am!!! I would like Sarah do 5 minutes in an ice bath. Together with Andy. Also with Rick! Fabulous podcast again guys. Thanks for brightening my evening. Have a Happy Year all at TRC. Hope to see you at The Running Show🙃😅❤❤❤
We've got 2 beautiful parkruns around Loughborough, one nice and flat but can be muddy at Dishley and the other more challenging Beacon hill (also muddy). Both have breakfast rolls available afterwards.
Hope to see episode 102 at the end of next year! As someone who is shifting back to running after 10 years of cycling I find your videos really motivating. Thanks and have a good '24!
If you guys do come to Australia for a Parkrun, be mindful that most of them start earlier here. 7am in Queensland and the NT, 8am in Victoria, NSW, WA, SA and 9am in Tasmania.
I do really hate running strength programs. I love powerlifting though, I think doing some more general strength training is beneficial. Chase some numbers on the big 3, then after 12 weeks start adding in more running specific exercises like split squats, rdl, etc. Then it becomes it's own thing that gives you satisfaction and has it's own goals than something you feel you have to do. Your running will suffer for a month or so but being strong is awesome and getting strong is a lot of fun.
You guys need to go for Durlston parkrun, one of the UK’s hilliest parkruns around Durlston Castle and the caves on the Jurassic coast with stunning sea views
I always thought parkruns in Scotland started at 9:30 because the Burrell cafe in Pollock Park, which was the first Scottish parkrun, opens at 10 and nobody wants to hang about waiting for their post run coffee and cake.
This is a brilliant podcast as always. My question for intervals alternatives are (1/4 mile) hills repeats at v02 max as good as flat 800s eg . I know they don't achieve say 5k target times but can these be as affective ? Happy New year runming channel love you all.
I hate strength workouts too. But I haven’t had any strain-based injuries all year and they’ve presumably had something to do with that, so I’d better carry on.
I think you should run Littlehampton Park Run in Sussex. Jake Whiteman, had his course record broken this year! that could be achallengee for Andy to beat.
Come to Arrow Valley Park ..in Worcestershire center of England.....around a beautiful lake and a quick course and without doubt the friendliest and most encouraging group of volunteers better than anywhere else🤣 out of the three of you obviously i would like to see Sarah in a bath.. apologies i just had a moment 😂great podcast 🙂
Strange seeing Rick so light hearted , I watched some of the more serious topics he has had to cover this last week or two (possibly his bread and butter work). It is not fun being a viewer of News at present, must be doubly tough being a journalist. it is good that he gets to also post on fun stuff though TRC.
Give the ice bath to Rick for bad scoring, and I would love to see you do a video showing workouts you can do at the gym and workouts you can do at home with bands or dumbells.
Squat bench dead for 3 sets of 5 reps with two sets of warmups. One exercise per workout session. Ten minutes per workout and you will gain more strength than any other workout out there.
For strength work look up Hybrid Calisthenics. He's a cool guy with a great quick bodyweight routine. I bet he'd even be willing to do a Zoom appearance.
Purely in the interest of scientific study and that it would be quite funny, Andy and Rick should both sit in an ice bath and see who lets out the highest Mariah Carey screech.
Would love to see more gym sessions/strength and conditioning from y'all. Make Sarah do some powerlifting ; ) And you should definitely throw Rick in the icebath since you both apparently tied.
Get Sarah into the gym with a specialist guiding her through use of machines, free weights and body weight exercises. Make sure she has music she likes.
That Pulse Ox bit killed me 😂
A less embarrassing one: when I first got my watch I thought the pace was decimalised, so I was running at 6 min/km, then it jumped to 5:55 min/km and I thought I'd sped up massively without realising. That happened for a couple of months before I realised 😅

Everyone has a sin that is ice bath worthy.
Andy for being cheeky and sneaking his way to the front of park runs
Sarah for missing all her strength and conditioning days
And Rick for all his dang hilarious jokes
Can't wait to see it!
Hahaha great argument!
I've got to admit that during our run clubs group runs I pull a Sarah and just won't stop talking about your podcast and the TRC channel! 😅
Guys definitely come to the Bressay Parkrun in Shetland!!! We’ll see you there. We’ll discuss the politics of the start time as well on the ferry back to the mainland 😂
😂😂😂
Rick, you will be amazed to know that here in Australia our ParkRuns start at 7am - it's too bloody hot otherwise!
These podcasts are actually the best. I look forward to listening to it when one comes out . Keep up the great work 👍
Thank you glad you like them!
👏
Scottish parkruns are at 0930 because the 1st parkrun in Scotland was at Pollok Park and the cafe didn't open until 1000.
Knowledge!
Is that the reason?!
@@runningchannelI can confirm this!
@@runningchannelabsolutely is the right reason.
Would be great if you could have Anna McNuff on the podcast. She has run the equivalent of 90 marathons across the British Isles without shoes.
New Year New Goals!!!
Brilliant podcast! Always perfect chemistry between presenters.
Congratulations on the 1M. I love watching on RUclips to see all of your reactions. That episode was so funny. Ox 😂😂
Come to Royal Tunbridge Wells for a hilly but scenic Parkrun 😀

Sarah J x
Thank you that's so kind of you!
Best running podcast on the planet. Thank you for making 2023 so much fun! All of you should do the ice bath!
Ice bath: easy, the three of you at the start and end of the programme. Thanks for bringing some laughter to the end of the year. Instead of beer mile, it could be gavi mile. just saying
oh and the good NA alternative is a non-alcoholic prosecco, nice and fizzy and bleurgh
Congratulations on the million milestone, love to listen to the podcast, always has me laughing 😆. It would be awesome to do some parkrun meet ups, perhaps in a few different locations around the country to give subscribers a chance to get to them. Well done to all involved.
Congrats on 1M listens! You are the highlight of my week, please don't ever stop releasing episodes!
Park runs in QLD Australia start at 7am and is 🥵
Love the channel Guys 😊🏃♀️
Congrats on the 1 million downloads - love the podcast (watching and listening). Come to Guernsey parkrun - it's a 9am start! Anna went to Jersey parkrun a few years ago, so I feel it's only fair you come to Guernsey. Sarah to do the ice bath - it's not personal Sarah, just that I'm sure Andy would have done them 'back in the day' and I recall Rick doing one in a previous video 🥶
Cannot wait for Saturdays to roll around so I can listen to the Podcast! There hasn’t been one that I haven’t loved. Keep it going guys ❤❤❤❤
Irish parkruns start at 9:30 too.
18:10 naughty slip by Sarah there 😂😂😂
Thank you for all you guys do! Once I started focusing on strength a lot of my pain went away, especially focusing on hip strength. Runna has great strength workouts. I do all of my strength workouts at home with limited equipment. Also, yoga is helpful.

So glad you enjoy it!
Melbourne for your Park Run for sure! My local is pretty scenic. Do it!😊
Feel free to come to Irchester country park parkrun - it’s a fun undulating course which is beautiful in the summer
Rosliston parkrun is a fab scenic route round a forestry centre. Near burton on trent
Never been this early before😳 looking forward to another year of challenges and PRs!
Loved this episode!
Should all come to Southampton Common Parkrun! It's big (normally 900+) and its fast :)
Please please please have andy do the donut mile
Hahaha if this comment gets 100 likes we will….
Come and do the Parkrun in Guernsey, and while you’re here get some trail running in on the cliffs. They’re amazing 👍🏼
Come to New Zealand and do the Barry Curtis park run, we'dnlove to see you all 😊 Happy New Year to the whole team 🚶♂️🏃♂️🚶♀️🏃🏾♀️🚶🏼♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏼♀️
Thank you for what you all do. It’s been helpful and motivating for me on my running journey. As for who I think should take an ice bath…. That would have to be Rick 🎉
Congrats on your 1M listens! Happy 2024!!
We start parkrun at 8am here in Perth, Western Australia. Can be pretty warm by that time in summer.
That was so much fun 😊
Well done 1 million downloads no wonder very entertaining podcast . Think Andy should do the ice bath challenge . 🎄🎅☃️❄️🍻
Hopefully you come up to the north east sometime next year for some events
Maybe even the Great North Run
Sarah, you should go for a PB here or all run it together

Big up Aber! Went there too 🎉
Was that Sarah dropping the f bomb at 18mins 12 seconds (turn the volume up, it’s quite quiet)? 😂😂😂 Ice bath for you!😂😂😂
We've got 2 beautiful parkruns around Loughborough, one nice and flat but can be muddy at Dishley and the other more challenging Beacon hill (also muddy). Both have breakfast rolls available afterwards.
I think Sarah for the ice bath it will be a funny watch. 😂 x
Also, come to Pontefract Parkrun 😁
Maybe we should do a poll to see who everyone thinks should…
@@runningchannel sounds like a good idea to me does that.
I second this 😄
Hope to see episode 102 at the end of next year! As someone who is shifting back to running after 10 years of cycling I find your videos really motivating. Thanks and have a good '24!
That's the plan! Thanks for listening!!
If you guys do come to Australia for a Parkrun, be mindful that most of them start earlier here. 7am in Queensland and the NT, 8am in Victoria, NSW, WA, SA and 9am in Tasmania.

Come to the Maxima parkrun in the Netherlands. There are small bridges everybody seems to love and logistically excellent
Hermanus, South Africa 🇿🇦 ♥️
Come to Milton Keynes and I will do my first Parkrun at the same time !
We were there earlier this year but we might have to come back!
I always thought parkruns in Scotland started at 9:30 because the Burrell cafe in Pollock Park, which was the first Scottish parkrun, opens at 10 and nobody wants to hang about waiting for their post run coffee and cake.
Yet another brilliant show. I love you all, but there can be only one....Sarah for the ice bath...😂
The Eglinton Country Parkrun in Kilwinning/Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland would be a good one for you guys to try 🏴🤔
Come to the Kirkwall parkrun in Orkney. 🎉
Come to Endcliffe Park parkrun in Sheffield! Pretty central for lots of people to get to!
I do my S & C at home following along a little RUclips video. It’s not perfect, but it helps. I’d never go to a gym.
This is a brilliant podcast as always. My question for intervals alternatives are (1/4 mile) hills repeats at v02 max as good as flat 800s eg . I know they don't achieve say 5k target times but can these be as affective ? Happy New year runming channel love you all.

Great podcasts. Congratulations.
Who will win the national running show awards?
☀️🌄🐆🐬🐺🌌🌕
A few parkruns in South Africa start at 07h00 due to heat, check Upington, South Africa.
I think you should run Littlehampton Park Run in Sussex. Jake Whiteman, had his course record broken this year! that could be achallengee for Andy to beat.
Sounds like a good idea…what time was it?
@@runningchannel current male record is 15 min dead
From Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to the beer mile, you should consider the Krispy Kreme Challenge.
What’s the rules??
Come to Westpark parkrun in Munich!
All 3 have to the ice bath together. Think of the team bonding potential 😂
I think Andy won the quiz so Sarah has to take the plunge. Maybe Rick also if the scores were dodgy :)
Haha we think Rick didn’t score correctly so deserves a plunge 😂
I wish the Parkruns started at 9.30am here in Australia....they're 8.00am here! 😴😴😴 But still you should come do one here 😂😂😂
Please go to Aberystwyth my mum and sisters live there.

The podcast is a lot of fun for us to do 😁
Give the ice bath to Rick for bad scoring, and I would love to see you do a video showing workouts you can do at the gym and workouts you can do at home with bands or dumbells.
I'm not sure Rick was keeping the scores correctly.
We don’t think so either 😂😂
All the parkruns near me start at 7am… I wish they started at 9!
Come over to the other side of the channel: Reeuwijkse Hout Parkrun is beautiful, and the one in Rotterdam is in a huge city park!
Squat bench dead for 3 sets of 5 reps with two sets of warmups. One exercise per workout session. Ten minutes per workout and you will gain more strength than any other workout out there.
Since you guys tied the quiz, clearly the answer is ice bath challenge.
One minute in ice bath, one minute in hot tub. Person that does the most wins.
Mo takes the 20 min plunge
Mo could do that in his sleep 😂
UCAST = Universities and Colleges Admissions Service; but Sarah is always right... :D
For strength work look up Hybrid Calisthenics. He's a cool guy with a great quick bodyweight routine. I bet he'd even be willing to do a Zoom appearance.
All 3 in ice tub 😂
😂😂
Why not do a volunteer takeover at a parkrun? With all the presenters doing a different role.
We’d love to do that!
Have 3 ice baths but only one of them is properly cold and none of them know until they all go in at the same time.
Rick's challenge- How many laps of a track can he do before Andy has another kid.
Purely in the interest of scientific study and that it would be quite funny, Andy and Rick should both sit in an ice bath and see who lets out the highest Mariah Carey screech.
I thought a heavy metal door would sound like a power chord
😂😂😂
All three of you should do the ice bath challenge, The winner is the one who can stay in the longest 🥶🥶
Would love to see more gym sessions/strength and conditioning from y'all. Make Sarah do some powerlifting ; )
And you should definitely throw Rick in the icebath since you both apparently tied.
You could tackle each others closest-to-home parkrun?
Seeing as Sarah hates the gym she really should have a go at a Hyrox to see why some of us love the mix of strength and running
UCAS = Universities and Colleges Admissions Service 🙂
knowledge!
Andy how did you hurt your head?🤔
Shara should be doing the ice bath 😄
First
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
6 exercisers 40 minutes?? 15 would be enough to get them done :-)
Dont let rick get away with losing his 5000 follower bet. He must be cleansed!
Ox😂😂😂😂
Just for fun I think all three of you should do a ice bath
Agreed 😂😂
Longest to stay in wins.
Turn it into a competition and it won't hurt as much (or it will be more torture, so more fun to watch 😅)
Get Sarah into the gym with a specialist guiding her through use of machines, free weights and body weight exercises. Make sure she has music she likes.
