one of the reasons I LOVE you, your method and this video IS, you use heat. All the videos that I have seen on Natural Hair (until your video) says heat is bad.... One size/style/method DOES NOT fit all. Heat IS good, the amount of heat, is dependant on various factors.... I say, each of us have got to be courageous enough to try what's best for our individual hair... Learn and watch others YES!!! but adapt a method for you! If its heat Yes! If its products that's not all natural yet it works then YES!!! I think many of us are struggling to have healthy hair because we are not enjoying the process of natural hair health, fussing too much over our hair, duplicating methods from others that isn't right for us and comparing other Sisters hair to ours.... Authenticity is KEY! Be blessed my beloved Hair Health Sisters in your Life Journey!!! Love Camille
In your shingling video I noticed that you only used the MissJessie Multicultural gel, but my question is did you put any leave-in in your hair or do you find it lasts longer without it??
Have you ever tried the shingling method? Do you plan on trying it? If so be sure to tag me on Instagram and use the hashtag #YNShingle so that I can see your results. I cant wait to see! :)
+yoursNaturally11 I have a problem doing this hair style I use coco butter to morsterize and olive organics gel and every time I do it I comes out stiff my hair is short it is down to my neck. how do you do that to your hair I have watched the video like 10 times and I just don't know what to do. Can you help a sister out
Your hair is beautiful! My daughter has 4a/3c hair- do you think the diffusing part is necessary for a child? How would not blowing dry with a diffuser impact the look?
+Olivia Phillips Awesome! i wasn't sure how my viewers would like the fact that I specified my hair type but Im glad to know that you found it helpful and that we are hair twinsies :) Let me know what else you'd like to see! ❤︎
Shngling takes forever, but I can get a well defined 7 day wash n go with it...when I have the patience to do it, that is! Love your curls. The older video you did, where you have red hair, is actually the one that originally made me try shingling. :)
+inquisitive bibliophile It does take longer on longer hair but on mine, it takes no time, of course. You're right though, it lasts forever. I love it for that. Don't remind me of the red hair video...Im missing that hair as I type lol
the shingling method absolutely works for me , i love it . especially when i do it w. coconut oil and eco styler gel :) . i plan on making natural hair vids soon as well
Nice, I want to try this product. You are a very beautiful young lady. Thank you for sharing your beauty tips with us. I love RUclips and people that share great ideas to help other people's lives.
Hello Ms. Naturally. I have been on a natural hair journey for about 2 years now and I'm very inspired by your videos! I am black but have Mexican and Indian in my blood from my grandparents! I have been very unhappy with my hair for awhile. I grew up always on perms due to my mother and I've stopped perming 5 years ago sometime after starting my Freshman year in college. My hair was very damaged so I had to desperately cut it and it went from 2 inches past shoulder length to mid chin. Since I've cut my hair it has been growing yes and my natural curls came back, but my hair still seems brittle and always super dry no matter what moisturizing product I use! I've cut it 3 times and I have no idea where I'm going wrong! My hair has great potential but I can't seem to find the right product to get my hair healthy! I ask that you please give me advice and product recommendations if there are any!
+Pretti Mimi Hey Mimi, Im sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with your natural hair. It can become challenging sometimes, especially when you're still new to it. I highly recommend that you stop using sulfates if you are doing so and that you only co-wash when you cleanse it. After cleansing, use a moisturizing conditioner and leave it in for at least 5-10 mins. Rinse with cold water but don't rinse all of the conditioner out. To style, always start with a leave-in conditioner (something light, but moisturizing) and proceed with your styling. Using a light oil such as coconut oil(while your hair is wet) to seal in the moisture is always a great way to keep your hair moisturized as well. Extra tips: stay away from direct heat (flat irons, curling irons etc) until your hair is properly balanced. Deep condition every week as well. As far a specific product recommendations, I cant really suggest without knowing your hair type. Let me know how things progress if you do try this. Hope this helps. :)
+YoursNaturally11 Thank you soo much for responding to my comment and giving me advice!!! I just looked at my shampoo bottle and it does contain sulfate, I'm gonna start switching out my shampoo for one. I will be following your suggestions and see how it turns out for my hair. Now here comes another question, how do I figure out my hair type accurately???
I will try this and hope it looks cute as yours does. I've tried wash and go's but fail due to my thick kinky texture and the fact I have like 3 textures and it looks a mess. This method seems like I may could actually pull it off thanks for sharing
+cookie212005 If you don't like the result of a wash and go, I'm sure you'd love this method. Let me know when you try it. Im anxious to hear your thoughts. :)
How do you put your hair up at night? My hair is very soft and gets smashed so the next morning it’s very tangled and then what do you do the next day?
Imma have to try this ..thanks for posting ♡ ....but Wow...this takes Detailed PATIENCE Lol ( I have patience with other people's hair...yet with mine not so much. I will have to work on that haha )
Love your wash n go results using the shingling method!! We have similar hair textures as well. I've used this method as well. I love it, great long lasting curls with so much definition too. I have a video on it as well. I would love if you check it out if you have some time. Thanks so much for sharing! =)
i have hair like yours 3c/4a but by bangs are like damaged it may be heat damage or breakage im not sure but its just coarse their are barely any curls and its dry and frizzy from the roots to the end so i cant cut them off and it doesn't seem to be growing, any idea what that is and how i could fix it and bring the curls back like the rest of my hair is fine its just that part of my hair
+SShlizzle It seems like it may be some sort of damage. I cant diagnose the damage without a visual but it sounds like it may be heat damage. The only way to get rid of it is to cut it or let it grow out. Usually damage cannot be reversed, only prevented. I saw until its completely grown out, set the ends or the entire section thats damaged and roll it on a very small perm rod to mimic your natural curl pattern.
New Subbie here! Love your hair ❤️ I think we have the same texture. Does that gel have protein? My hair hates protein...also, what leave in do you use? Thx
msmishLA Los Angeles She is my hair twin as well. I have low porosity hair and it hates protein. I use shea moistures Shea butter conditioner(yellow line) as my leave in. That or Giovanni leave in. Ive tried others that were pretty good, but I noticed that because of my porosity and aversion to protein, I should stay away from silicones. Best of luck
+donna ellis You can use anything to shingle. For more hold, any gel (eco styler or Miss Jessies Quick Curls, Multi Cultural Curls, Pillow Soft Curls etc) or for a softer less defined and fluffier result use a leave-in or cream. :0
Girl I just big chopped two days ago and I've been on the struggle bus! I'm so glad I found you! Same hair texture! Thank God!

Any curl cream or gel. Eco styler is a good one.

Como você é linda!
Can I see this with somebody who has like thick kinky hair
Look up 4b or 4c shingling videos!
It's so much work lol. I just wear my Afro kinky-curly wig to get the same look 😛
+Pondu11 Its really not a lot of work. It doesn't take any longer than a twist out does :) and it lasts a week. Worth the work lol
