I remember my father didn't care for Ol' DY at the start of his career, then i told Pop "you know who does care for DY, Buck Owens, he friggin love's the kid!" Pop absolutely loved Buck & promptly changed his view on young Dwight Yoakum. RIP Dad & Ol' Buck too,, i sure do miss ya both 🙏 ✝️
Great everyone celebrating Willies birthday, Dwight got the best version of Me and Paul. Dwight never disappoints. Love that song. 7 years since Merle passed. Great to see Kristofferson there.
Frances I pretty much agree with your comments about Willie's Birthday celebration and I think that his music will live on for a long time with Country performers and performers in the other genres of music that his music was always popular so we may not have Willie Nelson around any more, I'm thinking his music will live on for quite some time and I'm thinking that he will be remembered throughout the music world with tribute albums and some of his latest albums enjoying sales surges
hey Robert I have been a Willie Nelson fan for a little more than 50years and I'm thinking Willie's legacy will last for quite a few years through people still singing his songs and newer songwriter performers like, Chris Stapleton, and others who are saying they believe in the style Willie's music and won't mind hearing that their music is being compared to Willie's, and I for one 1⃣ truly will miss hearing Willie's voice and guitar playing on any one 1⃣ of his bigger hits and I for one think he would be a candidate for the Country music bubuHall of Fame(posthumously, and I'm thinking that some of his albums will have a surge in sales ,now that he's gone and im thinking any tribute music and albums for Willie's legacy will be big sellers
Hey Robert C like I said elsewhere I'm thinking that Willie's music and legacy will be with us for quite a while and I'm thinking that there will be a new popularly of Willie's music in the various genres that his songs were popular in
Dwight is keeping the Bakersfield sound alive now that we've lost Buck Owens and he's helping bring back the popularity of old school style country music again 😅😊😮😊❤are at 73years old (on July 15th of this year, 2023) I being a pretty much life long Country music fan, couldn't be happier 😊😅😂❤
[Love how Dwight goes over to Uncle Larry and says something, does a couple moves, and the look of genuine joy on Larry's face. It's like we're up there with him, he took us all with him and we get to experience it thru his joy. Awesome.]
Sure was good to see Dwight doing some of his signature moves while playing one of Willie's signature tunes. Willie & Paul were the dynamic duo back in the day. I'm proud to say I saw those two in Willie's concert in the very early 70s. Dwight did it up well.
Damn! That was good. I remember the first time I heard that song, was working on building the trans Alaska pipeline. Paul was s.o.l.i.d. Willie needed a drummer on short notice and although Paul wasn't a drummer, he sat down on the kit, and by God!, he was a drummer!
I was there for the sat tribute and celebration of Willie's 90 th birthday it was awesome and amazing to here all those country singers in one amazing show
You go Dwight! I can vety well imagine the feeling of that invite and the Fun! Always adored Willie and Dwight as well. Excellent music talent and actor, Dwight absolutely is.
Love you Dwight 🎶🎶💞🤗💞 HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIE🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉PRAYING FOR MANY MORE🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉THANKS FOR SHARING THIS GREAT MUSIC AND AMAZING ARTIST/ ENTERTAINER 🎶🎶🎶🎶💞🤗💞
Love me some Dwight!!!! He made ripped jeans cool when nobody else did and duck taping boots!! Thus making me understand that just because I wasn’t like everyone else I was damn cool because of it!! See I already was duck taping my boots and wearing torn jeans! That is the artist way!!
Glad i saw Willie in his prime . Hard to watch this . He can barely catch his breath . I just watched a few artists who are in their 80’s and it’s painful to watch . Yes they are legends but they should bow out with grace . I think Willie is now 91 . I remember when i was a kid seeing him open for Merle Haggard . Then again in the 80’s at one of his family picnic shows
If you do not think DY in talented, just listen to him cover a song and make it his own. He always shows respect to the many stars that came before him.
Dwight's got the moves alright..........egads we'll miss that leg thing when he's gone....better keep goin' a bit longer please, like another 30 at least
Typical of the younger generation who just listen to fly by night people with one per cent of Willies talent. All they do is look at there modern comfort blanket (mobile phones) with little idea of communicating with people.
@@raymondoakford8357 I'm technically younger generation, and I love Willie Nelson, as well as other classic country artists, as opposed to this new pop country they put out today. Dwight must be deaf and can only hear his acoustic if it’s screeching. I saw him in concert a year ago and his acoustic guitar was godawful. When he played electric it was not nearly as bad.
Thanks for the video. But the camera is not your eyes. Stop thinking the camera needs to constantly pan and zoom all over the place like your visual curiosity. Makes for a horrible video
Does Dwight Yoakum only have the same pair of faded jeans, shirt, jean jacket, and hat that he's been wearing for the last 25 years? Might be time for an upgrade.
I love this, thank you amazing Dwight Yoakum for this tribute to my husband!
You must be so proud, best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪
Well deserved, as your late husband is a Legend ma'am, Respect & God bless 🙏
Well, bless your heart, you clearly put up with a lot😂 lotta shenanigans in that song
So nice to see such kind condolences both ways.

Dwight Yoakam is underappreciated…
Dwight is so smooth, and never hits a sour note.

Dwight is my favorite, he so cool! I love it
Check out Jamie Wyatt. She’s a Bakersfield gal too.
Trout's Tavern in Oildale Ca. Where the Bakersfield sound began!
Willie had a great lineup here but Dwight was my favorite. Merl and Buck would be smiling..
Dwight is the absolute best!!👏 Sounds the same as back in 92.
Saw an interview with Dwight where he disclosed that he's a voracious reader - makes sense that he would talk about the book.

Coolest guy in North America -no contest -Dwight.
I so agree 💯👍
I love Dwight. His voice never fails to amaze me! ❤️
I love this song with Waylon Jennings singing it. Happy Birthday Willie. Wish Ole Waylon could have been here in person. RIP Waylon!❤

Uncle Larry up there providing the rhythm. So awesome. Dwight still sounds great.
Gotta Love some 023 Dwight. Happy 90! Willie. 💚
It is impossible for Dwight to keep that left leg still, he just has the music in him all the way to his boots
Top three best country music voices ever ! That’s hank, cash, and yoakam baby!
Can't argue with that top three.🤟
Dwight's still got the moves!!

Great singing and great playing by Dwight Yoakam. His voice is like fine wine, it gets better with age. Never mind the lousy sound system.
Yeah, such a confident singer, relaxed yet passionate

Somebody EQ and turn up the volume on Dwight's guitar!
This is excellent. My only comment is the band did not arrange the solo changes like the original, which is a cool part they missed.
❤️🤠🙏

Dear Soundman,Dwight's guitar sounds bad.
That must be how he wants it to sound cause it's sounded like that for years.
yeah - not the sound guy's doing. That's how Dwight likes it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The audio is recorded through the guy's camera (Dan Dore), not the state of the art audio system.
This is someones cellphone video your not going to get the real sound from it.

This is some inside baseball. They cut it from the broadcast.
Yeah - there were so many cut! Theres more on my account here, more videos.
Too bad they didn't invite Micheal Murphey....
Looks like it’s been a while since ole Dwight tried to move like that. It’s ok. We all gonna get there, live life until the end.
Well, he still moves pretty good for being 66.

A lot of performers are guilty of that. Their "look" becomes a uniform.
