And they started joking there could not have been bigger difference than her stage self and real self. Diana answered: it was my twin. It's amazing how she transforms, and the ability to have such a strong seductive presence with just a few looks. It's interesting that this version by Diana has been changed from the minor key of the original to the major key, the exact opposite of what they did with Can't help falling in love! Personally I think this is the finest cover that I have heard Diana do, there is just something about the tone that is so pleasing to hear!

The lyrics may seem a bit cryptic, so I went to an interview with Tanita, in which she explains the song's message. Her words: "Actually 'Twist in My Sobriety' is NOT about love. I think it's quite a political song. I was probably saying all this culture and all this education - is it a way to distance yourself from what is really awful and dark in our world and our society? And actually even though that seems a bit of an exaggerated position, when I think about today, and I think about the refugee crisis, and how unable we are in Europe to actually react, it seems quite relevant, it seems like NOT such an exaggerated position. Funny, that a kid thinks that". That's how I always understood the song, which is why I thought the interpretation we saw on the show was a train wreck. Not vocally, obviously, as Diana sings beautifully, but for the first time ever I saw her sing without a clue as to what the song is about. And I was hugely disappointed, because getting the meaning across is Diana's forte. What we got instead was an awkward attempt to use the song as a vehicle for sexiness.

It's interesting to see how different people reacted to this new emploi, so uncharacteristic of Diana. Some were outright angry, that Diana was put in an situation she wasn't comfortable in or ready for; others seemed awkwardly surprised by the sexual overtones and even more so by the fact, that Diana has grown up; still others enjoyed the sensuality, but in many fans their protective instincts kicked in: Who dares touch our little girl?! It's interesting to see how different people reacted to this new emploi, so uncharacteristic of Diana. Some were outright angry, that Diana was put in an situation she wasn't comfortable in or ready for; others seemed awkwardly surprised by the sexual overtones and even more so by the fact, that Diana has grown up; still others enjoyed the sensuality, but in many fans their protective instincts kicked in: Who dares touch our little girl?! The audacity! Not only is our beloved baby pure as the driven snow, but also she is not, after all, a mere mortal, so keep your hands to yourself! :)) I find it quite entertaining. :))
Yes it is,and one just must realize, that this is show,acting and rehearsed. There's nothing here like a subway molestation, neither do we witness the sexual coming of age from a teenager.

The problem for me is I picture a swarmy individual rubbing his hands together as he and his henchmen determine to give good songs to those with lower scores and bad songs to others with high scores. Admittedly the scorin is based on who is friends with who and who got stabbed in the back the time before.
