You can see in the video that she does not pull her tongue back at all it is always flat in her mouth witch is a relaxed position, of course she does lower her larynx to achieve the extreme low notes but her natural voice is low by it self because her vocal type is Dramatic Contralto which is the female equivalent to a male Bass singer, in other words it is the deepest, darkest and most powerful female vocal type and it is also the rarest vocal type there is including males (Most females are Sopranos, Contraltos are only 2% of the female population and not all of them become singers). Diana of course is something special because even though she is a Contralto naturally she did train like possessed to be able to achieve extreme high range too. you can hear a part of it in this clip but this much is nothing she can go way way higher and of course you have to add her absolutely unique timbre and her over tone manipulation since she is also polyphonic and you end up with the most powerful/beautiful/unique voice on Earth like ever. And she is still so young, you have a whole new universe of music to discover with her, she is one of those individuals that moves the medium forward by doing things that humanity never even heard of before in their existence.

Diana is not only a dramatic and polyphonic contralto but also a virtuoso. She obviously has a very good ear and an exceptional sound capacity but her virtuosity also comes from an early learning of singing techniques during her early childhood in absolutely dramatic conditions. Beaten by her mother then abandoned by an aunt then lost in an orphanage she was miraculously adopted by a wonderful woman. The terrible ordeals she had undergone had caused a delay in learning language and had caused her abandonment by her aunt. To treat this handicap her adoptive mother had her take singing lessons from the age of 4. Usually we learn to sing for fun but this little 4 year old girl certainly put the energy of despair into this learning to convince her new mother to love her and not abandon her (there was probably no risk but after so many horrors little Diana was terrified of returning to her biological mother). Today she sings prodigiously and is a beautiful woman, but it is the result of extreme suffering that upsets those who think about it.

Yes, there are backing tracks in some places, I think this is the cause of "hearing two tones at the same time" and also this is a music show, not a particular academic musical talent contest and as it is not aired live on TV as almost 100% of music shows, the recording is taken live but before it is aired it is edited in many ways. So, we can easily expect pitch correction, layering, filtering in some extent. Regardless of these facts, as all producers in the world have these tools, what they don't have is Diana Ankudinova. She can sing this cover live very well, too.

She is a dramatic contralto which is the deepest darkest lowest voice chat for a female with the ability to seem with polyphonic overtones which is what makes her sound like there’s two voices. She is able to enhance her overtones especially the lower ones which can make it sound like she’s singing lower than what she really is. if you go back and look at the video at the end you can actually see her tongue visitation which is she has a flat with And touching the back of her teeth perfect technique.

Diana Ankudinova 21, (18 here) has a unique deep dramatic contralto voice (female contralto same as male tenor (C3 with quality)).
She got the nickname Queen of Goosebumps. :)
She is singing since little child, auditioned for Voice Kids at age of 13 but got no votes (20M+ views on her Jodel time attempt making it the most viewed audition of any non chosen performer, original video was deleted).
Then at age of 14 her "You are Super!" (Ты супер) era started: they made a show for kids with tormented background* (orphans, etc.), where they made funny, beautiful performances, like sailors dancing around them, etc.
Then the little Diana entered, with voice of an Earth Goddess. Not only the rarest contralto singing voice, her one of a generation timbre and using huge variety of
singing techniques including yodeling, poliphonic singing, straight tones and vibratos, use of dynamics, everything free and effortless like a feather, and without any error, not to mention her stage presence, her unqiue ability to set the mood, the atmosphere, and she always transforms herself into the character the song needs immdediately when on stage, since age of 14.

This perfomance was from the ShowMaskGoon, episode one, a TV show on Russian NTV channel where the best/winners of 3 earlier music shows (The Mask, You are Super, Superstar), 9 singers perform 9 songs of 9 categories over the 9 Episodes, and vote/judge each other at every episode's end. So 8 of them (+ the guest) are watching while one of them perfoms on the stage (which not only got interactive background, dancers,
etc. etc. but also 2 performance in every show is supported with VR technology, giving full virtual surrounding to the performer), singing live. So Diana was sitting with them when others performed.
In each round, the participants will be offered nine topics: for example, one will perform a folk song, the second - a song by a Grammy award winner, the third - a rock hit , etc. "
The nine categories are: "People's Hit", "Song of the End of the 20th Century", "Soviet Song", "Hit from Every Iron", "Song of Your Choice", "New Music", "Song from a Movie or Cartoon",
"Rock Hit" and "Songs of the Grammy Award Winners and Laureates". So by the 9th show everonye will sing a Folk song, etc.
This gave the young (18) singer excellent opportunity to try herself in 9 different styles during the 9 episodes, and to experience such a professional show as an adult for the first time.

You can see in the video that she does not pull her tongue back at all it is always flat in her mouth witch is a relaxed position, of course she does lower her larynx to achieve the extreme low notes but her natural voice is low by it self because her vocal type is Dramatic Contralto which is the female equivalent to a male Bass singer, in other words it is the deepest, darkest and most powerful female vocal type and it is also the rarest vocal type there is including males (Most females are Sopranos, Contraltos are only 2% of the female population and not all of them become singers).
Diana of course is something special because even though she is a Contralto naturally she did train like possessed to be able to achieve extreme high range too. you can hear a part of it in this clip but this much is nothing she can go way way higher and of course you have to add her absolutely unique timbre and her over tone manipulation since she is also polyphonic and you end up with the most powerful/beautiful/unique voice on Earth like ever.
And she is still so young, you have a whole new universe of music to discover with her, she is one of those individuals that moves the medium forward by doing things that humanity never even heard of before in their existence.

Since singing a cover can be very expensive, Diana often sang very old songs. This secured her the love and gratitude of older listeners and revived the old songs. Today she sings more and more songs of her own or written for her in a wide variety of genres. She also wins the hearts of young people with her versatility.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically. She only speaks Russian, so far. She plays the piano and ukulele. In 2022 Diana released her first self-written and composed song:

But Diana is not only a great singer and excellent storyteller. She lives her songs and touches our hearts and souls. She is a humble, smart and hardworking young woman and she looks very beautiful. Diana is not rich but she gives what she can: charity concerts.
She loves her family and her fans. We are Diana's 'friends' and support her. Diana really appreciates that her friends helped to improve her home studio and also sponsored her first album. The Russian friends have chosen Diana as their 'national treasure'. I think she is our 'welt treasure'.
Dimash Qudaibergen is the universe, but Diana is the earth, our home... And when you hear her voice, you feel like she has wrapped you in a warm velvet blanket and served you a mug of hot, dark chocolate. Every song is a unique experience, it captivates you, you feel bound by magic. Diana doesn't just sing, she creates worlds... and goosebumps. We also call her goosebumps queen or shaman princess.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
In 2012, Irina's family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who bore her would kidnap her.
In 2017 Diana went to Moscow, to 'The Voice Kids'. The next day, a huge scandal erupted on social media. A door had closed, but a new door opened...
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered a competition 'You are Super and won twice. That project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition especially for adopted and orphaned children.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon Diana had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists to start their studies and promote their creativity. Diana won a scholarship and Igor Krutoy (Russian music titan, billionaire, juror and sponsor) gave her a small apartment (37m²/ 398.26 ft²) in Moscow. There she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020). Her Russian fans helped her and found a new voice coach: Alexandra Pismennaya (Sasha), who was a student of Prof. Donskoy. She and Diana are on the same wavelength and even became friends.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier as “normal”, applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is normal and healthy. Now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts (Juilliard similar to GITIS).
In October 2021 Diana was invited to her first adult contest on Russian television 'The ShowMaskGoOn'. She won!!!
In December 2021, Dianas released her first CD with great success. Maestro Krutoy had introduced Diana to the excellent singer, songwriter and producer Brandon Stone. With Maria Tarasenko (songwriter), the trio created the 9 songs of the album and received gold in June 2022.

Diana is not only a dramatic and polyphonic contralto but also a virtuoso. She obviously has a very good ear and an exceptional sound capacity but her virtuosity also comes from an early learning of singing techniques during her early childhood in absolutely dramatic conditions. Beaten by her mother then abandoned by an aunt then lost in an orphanage she was miraculously adopted by a wonderful woman. The terrible ordeals she had undergone had caused a delay in learning language and had caused her abandonment by her aunt. To treat this handicap her adoptive mother had her take singing lessons from the age of 4. Usually we learn to sing for fun but this little 4 year old girl certainly put the energy of despair into this learning to convince her new mother to love her and not abandon her (there was probably no risk but after so many horrors little Diana was terrified of returning to her biological mother). Today she sings prodigiously and is a beautiful woman, but it is the result of extreme suffering that upsets those who think about it.

This jury, extremely uncomfortable in the face of the evidence that this elimination was revolting, is extremely disturbed and Diana remains smiling and superb until the end. A 13-year-old girl who accepts such extreme injustice without flinching is both magnificent and upsetting. At the very end she cries in her mother's arms moved by the rave applause from the audience (much of this applause was censored because poor Diana literally had to ask to stop so that the corrupt jury could speak.) Paradoxically, this scandalous elimination which shocked the Russians, forged the beginning of his legend. Diana has such a unique and rare talent you are right.
She has such a unique and amazing voice, and I believe she transports us each time somewhere... I think also due to her very traumatic childhood up until she got adopted, that experience in a way made her soul stronger and she always transfers those dark emotions that she lived in a way in her serious songs... I personally feel that each time, but she does it beautifully and powerfully.

Yes, there are backing tracks in some places, I think this is the cause of "hearing two tones at the same time" and also this is a music show, not a particular academic musical talent contest and as it is not aired live on TV as almost 100% of music shows, the recording is taken live but before it is aired it is edited in many ways. So, we can easily expect pitch correction, layering, filtering in some extent. Regardless of these facts, as all producers in the world have these tools, what they don't have is Diana Ankudinova. She can sing this cover live very well, too.

She is a dramatic contralto which is the deepest darkest lowest voice chat for a female with the ability to seem with polyphonic overtones which is what makes her sound like there’s two voices. She is able to enhance her overtones especially the lower ones which can make it sound like she’s singing lower than what she really is. if you go back and look at the video at the end you can actually see her tongue visitation which is she has a flat with And touching the back of her teeth perfect technique.

Yes, that is Diana's natural contralto (with years of vocal training of course)! She may have an unusually spacious vocal tract but she isn't lowering her pharanx to achieve those rich low tones-when she belts (around 12:45-12:50) you can see her tongue is flat & forward, not pulled back. The contralto vocal range has been virtually ignored in pop music for almost a century; imagine how many amazing performances we've missed....

The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard and successful to bring back the lost high notes and even expanded her vocal range, currently from C3-D7 (4,1 octaves!). Aquí hay tres razones por las que Diana (la reina de la piel de gallina) no suena humana. Primero, es una contralto, que es el tipo de voz femenina más raro. Le permite cantar de manera muy dramática/poderosa, muy (quiero decir MUY) profunda, muy oscura, muy rica. Segundo, tiene una laringe espectacular. La han llamado la Octava Maravilla del Mundo vocal. Tercero, es polifónica, lo que significa que puede producir múltiples armónicos dentro de su voz al mismo tiempo. Esto es lo que le permite sonar como dos personas a la vez. (más abajo) Cuando sumas todo eso, básicamente obtienes una persona que crea su propio auto-tune. No necesita auto-tune electrónico. Ella ES su propio auto-tune. Y el efecto cuando la escuchas es totalmente alucinante. Es como si estuviera cantando a través de ti, como una espada directamente en tu alma. Literalmente, NADIE más en el planeta tiene una voz como la de ella. No es una entre un millón, es una entre ocho mil millones. Después de haber visto más de 100 reacciones iniciales sobre ella, solo una NO dijo que fuera "única".
