    Incredibly amazing GN. It's like you're buying it brand new from the dealership. No words can describe the beauty and integrity of this finely manufactured automobile. American standard at its best.

    My GN I bought in 11/87 new. It has 18,600 mi. All original including the tires ( believe it- no dry rot). Only one repair, under warranty, and still to this day, was the glove box lock. I stored it for about 10 years in my friends heated garage and bought it home about 8, 9 years ago. New batt and oil change and she started right up. The full tank of stabilized gas stored with evaporated to half at that time. It ran real well but did not like the new gas after refueling. My son posted a video back then, “1987 Buick Grand Nation first start in ten years” under Phil nyer. The hood struts didn’t work after closed so long that’s why it’s propped. I still have it, and my son who was born the same year, will have it some day. He loves cars and is very capable mechanically of preserving and maintaining it.

      I'm also an 87 gn owner. I purchased mine from the original owner here in California 7 yrs ago, he drove it but preserved it well totally unmolested car , with tons of provenance ,including window sticker and built sheet etc . My 7 yr really enjoys when we take it out for a drive around town . I hope to see my son as a teenager enjoying this car . He loves when we get the tires to bark. Enjoyed your son's video on the first start in 10 yrs . I can even imagine the feeling of seeing your own son having the love, passion for the GN as well.

    I ordered one BRAND NEW and kept it for seven years. I'm sorry to this day for selling it. It sat in my garage for most of its life. It had 14,000 miles on it when I let it go in 1994.

    I'm guessing $65 - $70K easy. This is a time capsule Grand National. This is beyond rare, practically unheard of in this condition.

    There are a few American car models I truly love and this is definitely one of them. Beautifully designed and well made. Someone got the grandest Grand National on the planet and is the lowest mileage I've ever seen for this model. My "brand new" car had more miles than this when I bought it!

      Couldn't agree more. I know some people's enjoyment is derived from displaying cars like this but if I had the kind of money needed to own these kinds of cars there's NO WAY I would be able to park it indoors and simply *LOOK* at it every day without occasionally getting behind the wheel because for me that's part of the enjoyment of owning a car like this, but that's ME.

  • @BlacKnightRising
    @BlacKnightRising 6 лет назад +2

    that all good etc...but to NOT enjoy driving this awesome machine isn't something to brag about...these cars need to be driven and enjoyed...not run into the ground, just enjoyed, because when we're gone somebody sure as fck will be driving and enjoying them!

      I bought one recently with 74000 miles and t tops. the thing that's funny is the car drives so tame then if you put your foot down boom it yanks you back. I also have a 442 cutlass and the difference in how each car puts down power is crazy. 442 with a 455 is like holding a beast back. grand national is like a regular driver then if someone challenges you boom launched like a rocket.

    I did notice a ding on the driver side Opera window at 2:47 on video that little section that’s about 2 inches wide. I wonder how that got there?

      It’s not a ding it’s a factory defect because these doors about 4 feet long same with all the panels you might see some waves

    In the right auction, this car could set records. Unreal! I'd love to buy this and sit on it for a bit. The seller must have a wicked collection.
    Ummmmm. Why didn't you pop the hood?

  • @ComputerLearning0

    Only flaw I see with the interior is around was the headliner cover. It's hard to see in this video because he never really shows it, and if you didn't know this was a pre-existing issue in GM vehicles of this period then you wouldn't catch it at all, but around 11:15 you can see the soft velour cover has come loose from the headliner and as he backs away you can very briefly see the velour is draped down flopping in the breeze. Fortunately, this can be repaired but it affects pretty much every GM ever made during this period.

    My car was about $16,000 in 1986. By 2001 General Motors paid out more than $20,000 in warranty repairs! Loved the look and the power, but service was pathetic. The car was on its 3rd engine when it got a new owner!

    • @kevinw3030
      @kevinw3030 5 лет назад

      On the second engine the dealer was trying to put me on the hook, but every bit of oil that had been in the engine somehow got lost before testing could be done, even the oil in the oil cooler that was in the radiator. They wouldn't let me have the roached motor. the replacement had a slight rod knock. When it blew I had to go to arbitration with G.M. to get a 3rd motor.
