While there's no denying this show isn't what it was, and though certain modern episodes are great, the early seasons were absolutely outstanding TV. A game changing world affecting phenomenon, a marvel in semi-adult animation. The Simpsons plays a huge role in my childhood, shaping much of my humour and interests today. Watching this made me study hard to be fluent in English and then made me curious to expand my horizons to get the pop culture references

I just think because they've built this show around stereotypes - the dumb, lazy husband, the disapproving housewife, the bookworm girl and the rebellious boy - it'd be hard coming up with fresh ideas that make sense with these characters. I feel like I've seen a dozen episodes about Lisa not fitting in, Marge trying a career, Homer fighting with a celebrity. It was fun for a while, but has become repetitive to me.
But also, I'm thinking of all my favourite shows, and I can't imagine any of them still being good if they ran this long.
