Looks and sounds amazing. Great video. Thanks to you guys. You are a good part of what made me a homebrewer. Once did a barley wine at 13% abv with a similar technique. And cbc-1 did not help cut it with bottle conditioning. Next time I'll try WLP099. Cheers and I wish you two some happy holidays.
A friend just measured some big stouts from side project and read 1.055+ FG! Delicious to be sure, but that’s got to be the definition of gloppy. Love the videos as always. I’ll miss them if you find less time next year!
3:36 I used yours and Chris’ reiterated mashing technique for my Russian Imperial Stout and fermented on a Dry Irish Stout yeast cake that I had racked to a keg that morning. It took off like crazy and was bubbling before bedtime-in fact within three hours! I’m planning on bottling it this weekend. Keep up the great work and happy brewing!🍻
ABV that high can taste "sweet", even though it's not really. Gotta always factor that in. FG of 1.012 typically won't taste sweet that much. Just my 2 cents.
Happy New Year, gents !

Great video. Where else can you hear "Whack a Mole' ", "Gird your loins" and "Tighten your truss" all in the same video.

@@johng4503 Very cool! That sounds like a fun pair to compare and contrast. 🍻
Sounds good. I made a strong mexican lager over the summer, 8% I use agave syrup. I want to try this one
“Whack a mole” is top tier, I long to be so witty
