- So the new album arrived this morning and I'd been told by people that Chocolate Jackalope is the one to cover... They weren't wrong!
I set myself the challenge of working it out and doing a video before I left for work so, here it is!
Any suggestions for the next one to do? I'll try and get another one done tonight =)

I've seen like 8 covers (that's all there was Tbh) and you're the only one that's had accurate notes, chords, and stayed on time. Not to say the others were bad, just some slight imperfections. But you.....PERFECT.

Mikerisms I got a question, have you ever used a schecter research c-7? That's the guitar I'm wanting but I don't know much about how well it plays and such.
Personally I'm not a big fan of Schecter, they always seem too chunky and feel a bit dead to play. Although that's my opinion as they are well built and generally sound good, just not my taste. I'd much rather go for an Ibanez RG or maybe even a Dean Vendetta (although they look a bit shit they are actually pretty good!) Best way is to find somewhere to go and play with one, I never buy a guitar I haven't physically checked out thoroughly first =)

No worries =) Not trying to put you off or anything! Ibanez are always so sleek and slender whereas Schecters are a bit fat and heavy for my taste!

zac, as a musician who can play this song, you should know that your doubt is probably the biggest roadblock in your way to being this good. Self limiting views like that are what stops a really important factor that allows you to be this good; motivation. We all get mad when we’re learning guitar and punch our guitars. Trust me I’ve been there so many times but don’t be so hard on yourself. Just keep practicing everyday and you will notice that you are just magically better one day. That’s really how it happens lol. Try using a metronome, and starting off real slow with a riff. When you can play comfortably enough to the point where you aren’t missing any notes and you can play it effortlessly, up the tempo.. this is the best way for your brain to solidify neural pathways. This method of getting better definitely takes a lot of patience. But hey like I said, if there’s a will, there’s a way! Good luck! You can always message me if you have any questions.

That's because Cort is Korean ad they mostly make guitars for other brands.

So I don't wanna be that guy, but I'm really looking to work on a better tone for playing DGD. I run a thinline 72 tele with humbuckers in the bridge and neck through my 50 watt Orange Rockerverb head and 4x12 Orange cab. Any advice or an outline on getting a good DGD tone?

Derek Brosnan personally some songs stick to me even after years of not playing them. Mike is way more advanced than me so I suppose he does. If not, a brief look at the song is all it takes to play the song again.

So i noticed you tap with your index finger like me. I kinda wedge the pick in my middle finger but I feel like it really slows down the time between picking and tapping. I tried tapping with my middle finger but feels really awkward. You ever think of switching to your middle finger?
My index finger is much stronger for tapping so I use it when i can, but I do use my middle finger too if I need to switch back to picking quicker. This song has plenty of time to get my pick back in my fingers so that's why I use my 1st finger for it. Working on one at the moment I have to use my middle finger for and it's taking a lot more practice to get it nailed.
Yeah same here. Trying to build up strength in my middle finger so I essentially don't need to use my index anymore but it's a slow go. I'm so used to kinda bracing my hand against the neck with my thumb and middle finger for leverage. But using your middle finger your hand is just floating there.
Ditto, the floaty handedness of middle finger tapping is just not comfortable or precise enough, I need stability!
