Enjoyed the video! Back in the day guys were picking up those old Remington knives no matter what kind of shape they were in. Some old farmer-rancher carried and cherished that knife for many years. The stories and feed sacks opened, those knives have.

That Frontier is a standard stockman. Sharpen those blades up for wood carving and you have 3 different tips for different carving situations.
    Excellent for whittling.

Got an idea for you George. The knife hunt is fun for sure and maybe more so than the buy. In order to keep from buying so many knives on the spur of the moment. List 6 of your favorite style of knife from 1 to 6; like sod buster, barlow, etc. Use your dice and row your dice two times. Then compare the number to the knife on the list. So maybe you row barlow and sod buster; those would be the knives you look for on that day. Or use manufacturer's name on list from 1 to 6. So today's hunt would be for Imperial knives or Camillus. Keep on keeping on. Rog

I just recently picked up a frontier as well from a pawn shop did some research and I believe it is basically an imperial! I believe the Bear MGC USA tang stamp implies 1999! The USA knife does match the Colonial you have but it could be any USA manufactured! I have faith in you George that you can clean those knives up a lot faster now with the new equipment!

Those scissors on the gentleman's knife, you might be able to use a Victorinox spring on the scissors on this knife. The Imperial Ireland "Mini Sodbuster" might just need a good cleaning to help bring the "snap" back to the blade. That Old TYimer Stockman is a good knife and was the working mans EDC for everything from opening boses and envelopes to cutting strings and ropes and peeling his apple or orange for lunch and maybe even cleaning his fish on his days off work, they were easy to maintain ad sharpen , I see you and The Knife Doctor using your Work Sharp sharpeners so I broke down and boght me one and that really works well, I had picked up a pair of Moore Maker knives and one was a Stockman, it was very dull but great shape, the Work Sharp had just come in and I went to work on it and it took me about an hour to get all three blades sharpened but it sure did a good job, I really like it, I only wish it was a little bigger as the one I got has sharpening sides about an inch by about 4-5 inches so you haver to be careful as your working pretty close to your hand holding it , I need to make me a base that is slotted the right size to hold it rather than my hand being the anchor for it but for $35 it works very well

Looks like the manicure knife is COLT.CEM MANIAGO. Made by CEM knives in Maniago, Italy for Colt, most likely. Maniago is apparently the Solingen of Italy.

UMC is a Remington name. It shows up on their ammo also. I am generally cautious about knives that are supposedly made by a gun manufacturer.
But I do like my Glock field knife.

I’m just a simple guy that at 66 is just waking up that there is only so much ‘time ‘ left.., and too many projects ,,, time that need to be with grands, wife , grown kids.. do lots of work with them over at their homes (WITH them not just for)
Must have collected 4 to 5 hundred nice knives…
Had a side gig that financed it.. didn’t drink or other vices ,, so knives were mine… if I found a killer deal.. I stocked up… some times traded)
Lately been giving knives away at a good pace. Family n friends …Besides usa complete boxed mint.. bought up over 200 blades ( unfinished ) when camillus closed … lots of nice full tang heat treated ready for handles…, I just don’t see getting to it..
Got a hobby truck in garage …2 years un touched ….
But got to say : I’m enjoying time with family… maybe a lull in this work will give ‘me’ some time.

That Imperial Kemkin (sp?) looks almost identical to my old cub scout knife from the late 60s. I think it was made by Camillus or Case at the time.
    That is one classic pattern.
Oh, Imperial. Was that the precursor to Schrade? Looks like Imperial bought Schrade Cutlery and reformed as Schrade-Walden around 1946.
