great video! and a very good review. I think I watched your video like 3 times. I love the fact you said what you like and didn't like, with the PRO'S and CON'S, and even showing a DIY fix for the issue. My Smallrig shoulder pad and Smallrig VCT-14 BASE PLATE COME NEXT WEDNSDAY (along with some other goodies)! I'll let you know if they fixed the back pin space issue. Your video was a deciding factor for me to get this plate. Question though... what length extension arms did you get for the rosette mounts? I got the ARRI Rosette Arm 1684... I think they might be too short for my needs. It looks like you got the "SmallRig Extension Arm with 2 Arri Rosettes 1807". I hope I didn't just blow $120.00 for nothing! lol Keep up the great videos.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I did actually get the 1684 arms as well, and they are a little short so I wouldn't mind having longer or extending ones, but I can manage well enough haha. Thanks again :)
kickass gear!buying the D850 next year! this little D750 I use is nice but the video settings and video menu is not great!must train my shitty back and tone up my legs to get used to a shoulder mount that u use!such a shame that I saw Sicario 2!meaning they used Roger Deakins for the 1st half of the movie and a generic action shooter for the 2nd half!
The D850 will definitely be an upgrade! The D750 was nice too but mine gave me too many problems and I moved up to the D810 (before switching to Canon). The D810 was a beast though and I'm sure the D850 is even better :)
I have the 1684 arms here, though the longer versions might be nice, and the C200 grip just screws right into them. I'm using a Zacuto extension cable to connect it to the camera.
I'm not sure if Smallrig has fixed this with newer versions but you can contact and ask them about it. Otherwise, it's just a bit of DIY. Annoying and time consuming to sand it down, but it does help :)
It's from Zacuto and they don't seem to have it listed individually on their website. I contacted them directly to buy it. SHAPE also sells one though, and that's readily available on B&H etc. Just search for SHAPE C200 grip extension cable and you should find it easily
This is the review everyone needs to see. All it's upsides, downsides and even fixes for it's downsides.
Thanks so much! Glad to hear that :)
Thank you Scott, really informative!
Thanks so much for watching! :)
Great video comparison Scott!

THERE IS A VCT PLATE MADE BY SMALLRIG (Now anyway, I don't know about the date at which this video was made)
Right! This was made before it haha... I'd love to test out Smallrig's version ...if they're watching ;)
Great review
The Kessler quick release system uses Arca-Swiss plates.
Ah, good to know! Thanks :)
Hi, what are the VCT-U14 issues you briefly mentioned?

Do they fixed the problem with the small rig combo? Thanks

Thank you for watching! :)
What rosette handles are you using? And what are you using to mount the C200 grip to the handle? Thanks!

Good evening Excuse me I have the same problem of playing with the sole or I can buy the two pieces that you have changed please
Thank you

Can you please also link to the cable you've used to extend your handle this way?

What length rods do you use on the back
In this video I think I was using something around 10cm rods... I have a set I sawed down to be even shorter too haha.
@@ScottDumas cool, I am purchasing the same set for the Ursa Mini Pro
I’ll stick with Zacuto rather than a cheap Chinese knock off. Good video though!
Haha Zacuto stuff is great- a little overpriced perhaps but great. Hope you enjoy :)
