As a Finnish person I'm obviously happy to see Finland qualify, but even if they hadn't it wouldn't have been the end of the world. That being said if Serbia hadn't qualified I would've rioted
Finland deserved it. So much time had passed since I first heard the song, that i kind of forgot how good it was.

I love rock music, but Finland is rubbish this year imo. There's a reason Rasmuss had only 1 big hit, and their entry for Eurovision makes this reason obvious imo.
Their previous entry was the same, though slightly better than this years. Finland can do better in the rock genre. Try sending Nightwish for example and you'll have an actual shot at winning.

You have only one task, and that is to visit Serbia soon and feel the taste of phenomenal food and, in my opinion, the best nightlife in Europe. 🏆Belgrade lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 🙌 I live in Vienna, 🇦🇹 but Belgrade's nightlife is much, much better. 🤝👍

This semi healed my heart a little.
Estonia, Poland and Romania were the countries I desperately wanted to qualify, and they all made it in. ^^
I mean, Poland was obvious but I was so scared for Estonia because of the sun issues, I think I made everyone needlessly nervous with my Estonia chanting in the chat 😅.
I actually let out an embarrassingly loud scream when Romania qualified, I'd lost hope since they were called so late. 😂
Way better than semi 1 which was just full of heartbreak and sadness for me, since none of my favorites made it.
I predicted every country right apart from Belgium, but I don't mind that one qualifying either.
I predicted Belgium and also glad they made it.
I was with you for Stefan, I thought he owned the stage like Led Zep themselves, charisma cannot be bought, and he's waited so long to get into the contest too. And his voice.... 😍

I was so happy for Romania and actually voted for them, I also voted for Czech and Ireland. So Devastated for Brooke as I'm Irish too but live in Australia.

thanks for voting for Romania, so many upbeat acts got overlooked by the juries it's criminal. I think Ireland finished 11th due to Belgium getting big juries support to get 10th slot.

Hi Tom, glad you tweaked and re-uploaded this. I think Ireland finished 11th, Belgium was 10th thanks to the juries (similar to what happened with Albania and Switzerland). Now the grand final will be a snoozefest in the middle with so many slow songs. Ireland, San Marino & Israel should be proud they performed really well. We have more than 1 Albina this year.

As an Irish person, with Cyprus as my favourite track this year and Georgia in my top 10, this was a really rough night. I even had to turn on queen Konstrakta hoping that Brooke would get through 😭
I always have Georgia in my heart and I put Cyprus in my top 5 but let's be honest, neither was showy enough on the night. The writing was on the wall.

I’m so sorry to all the fans but I don’t get Serbia 😳 I thought it was a snooze fest even though I liked the message. I am however looking forward to the finale so I can listen to it again and maybe see what everyone seems to see 💜

Look up the lyrics (and their meaning) online, there are plenty of videos here on RUclips that explain them as well. It will probably make things clearer, and the song really sticks after a few listens :))

Finland only qualified as the Rasmus have a nostalgia following. It was the weaker rock song. The vocals were bad in my opinion and the fake audience cheers they used were quite cringe

Funny actually when you look back at the community polls pre- and post-rehearsal; we would have had 10/10 if we had stuck to the pre-rehearsal top 10!
haha nah it was 9/10. If we'd swapped Cyprus (3rd) with Azerbaijan (11th), it would have been perfect!

So sad for San Marino and i honestly don't know what more Brooke coukd have done. All supporters here are so proud of her.
If we can't qualify from a semifinal which has Sweden, Czechia, Belgium, Spain, Australia and the UK voting in it, the future looks VERY bleak for Ireland.

yea i wouldnt be too desperate about it. Like i think they did lots of stuff right, but like WHERE WAS THE REVAMP?! That seems like such an obvious oversight to me. why did they leave themselves so much work to do coming in 18th in the QF odds. Definitely some positives to take from all this, but i dont think "we did everything and didnt QF" is accurate at all
keep in mind around 10 pop bangers qualified last year. 😅

Think our HoD has to seriously produce a national final with a lot more diversity and then roll the dice and see what lands.
Brooke on the other hand should feel nothing but pride with how she has conducted herself over here and in her performances throughout

I also notice that the two of us just dropped Ireland when the chips were down. You barely mentioned her either when your blood was up.
And this is why it didn't qualify, people were more attached to other songs, emotionally speaking.

My feelings aren't actually that hurt. Ireland , Malta , San Marino and North Macedonia deserved to be there (North Macedonia was and is my mom's favorite so she was a little butt hurt) but also some great acts that aren't ballads like Estonia , Czech Republic , Belgium and Romania went through so I'm very content. Belgium really turned the beat around and actually so did Azerbaijan.

it seems according to running order for the final winners of semifinals are Ukraine and Serbia. I reckon it will be battle between jury's fave Ukraine and televote fave serbia
Well Australia, Serbia, Poland, Sweden and Estonia are all next to each other. Last 5 songs looks like i am watching semifinal 2 again 😂. It is so weird what they did. I mean, anyone could've won last nights semifinal. By the way, what makes you think Jury likes Ukraine the most? Because of the politics?? We don't actually know what jury is looking for in songs. Maybe jury likes Serbian wierdness, Polish great vocals, Czech staging...maybe all in one. By the way, i have a feeling that maybe Sweden won televoting and Poland jury votes
How is belgium shocking? They were great and pretty much all the bookies had them qualifying
he had staging issues as His visuals were blocked by the sun. And he had in-ear problems with almost every single rehearsal, which really disrupted him in his dress rehearsal. He was 11th in the odds at the time of calling the results

I think this result will be very damaging for Ireland and RTE. I get the feeling that they really threw the kitchen sink at it the performance this year. How are we going to attract anyone for next year? Anna Bergendahl has Irish roots. Maybe she'll give it a go for us 😬
brooke did great, but the song MASSIVELY needed a revamp. it was a bizarre choice not to change the song at all

Ireland deserved to qualify, period. Good vocals live in comparison to others like Cyprus's and good staging for the first time in a while. If Ireland can't qualify with Brooke, they can't qualify ever again! My father is from an Irish family and even he said it was good! My mother HATED Romania's song, considering it 'the reason why people perceive Eurovision to be bad' and wanted Ireland to qualify too! Finland on the other hand gave me creepy IT vibes and the staging was very risqué.
Cyprus didn't qualify either 🤔
The problem wasn't Brooke, it was the song.
yea the song needed a revamp. i spoke about it with others here how we were SHOCKED she didnt revamp. they were last in the odds at one point. Brooke did amazing, but to say that mistakes werent made is wrong
Honestly the song wasn't bad as it was. The bit before the last chorus where the fireworks are shot out from the stage is definitely the most memorable and impactful part that made me think she was gonna qualify. Only big shock for me in the Semi Finals tbh.
My parents who hated many of the songs in that semi final (including some of the favourites) loved her and picked it out as the winner of that semi final!

Many will disagree but i get the impression small countries are being penalised. Unless they have something in the « fuego league will just not get anywhere. Other countries seem to be able to easily sail through with average songs.

Yea really sad for San Marino and Ireland too. I feel whoever were 10th in semi final 1 were quite lucky. I don’t know what to do about semi imbalances. It’s also quite subjective as I thought semi 2 was way stronger but I know others who thought 1 was better.
Personally I feel bops are slightly penalised too much, although they did well last year so don’t know whether it’s just a normal ebb and flow.
I missed the MBD thing, was it before voting closed? I think he’s well intentioned but he really doesn’t know social limits at all

I was surprised Cyprus didn't make it. The fact that voters voted for Belgium and Finland tells me they don't care about bad vocals.

Felt like Belgium and Finland do not deserve their place in the final. Both are very generic songs and both had problems. Belgium just didn't connect to the audience and was messy, Finland also messy and the song just has no punch to it. Feels like a B-side. Much rather we had San Marino who served and Ireland or Georgia, who I felt just had a much better package.
Suspect Belgium is through on jury as well, not televote. I've been saying for a while now that Belgium is in with a Swedish song, meaning that it's the sort of soulless pop Sweden is known for, the sort that juries will vote for because they are random bastards in the music industry who have accepted the idea subconsciously that commercial viability is equal to quality which if you think about it is a way of thinking that is quite essential to the music industry. Kind of ironic then that Sweden is in with a song that is trying the hardest to not be soulless like this.
Belgium qualified with both and totally deserved. He was vocally top. There was nothing generic about it. Ireland and Georgia were generic, or simple extremely bad and that's why they didn't qualified.
So sad for Israel and San marino . They should of qualified instead of Belgium and Romania.
