liam after watching few of your videos you seem like a top bloke.say it how it is and down to earth went through a similar story with my brother as u did with your dad .cocaine from the age of 12 ect.also took a hiding off him ect mad watching that bought back memories lost my brother due to alcoholism ect....got such a similar story to yourself...anyway sorry about the rant like your podcasts and like what u do
Joe Senior was an absolute gentlemen - always said hello and was always good to see the great man. Had the privilege of working Joe Jnr events and was also a pleasure - nothing but good things to say about them.
Brilliant watch, i could feel the emotion when Joe jnr was talking about his dad being unwell and Roy Shaw turned up, they don't make men like them anymore proper old school, a sad state of affairs these days as a species we just are not the same. Great interview LL&R.
What a brilliant interview. I grew up listening to my dad talking about all these people. He never had a bad word to say about any of them. He used to say the streets were a much safer place when people like Joey Pyle, the Krays etc were around. He grew up in Putney, South West London, as did I. Listening to this takes me back to listening to my old dad with his old life stories. Brings back good memories. Dad passed away aged 84 in 2022. God bless ya Joe, you're a good man like your dad. Take care mate.
Joe Snr was Probably the most respected man in London and was well deserved. I met Joe with one of my good friends Vic and we spent the day with Joe in the Monday Club in Peckham, it was a pub Joe used to go to where he would take the Wives out for a drink while their husbands were doing their bird . Joe had nothing but respect for these wives and made sure everyone else did. Joe Jnr is also a top guy and both Joe and myself have met and have had many a chat about boxing. I respect both top Men and Joe Snrs Passing was a sad loss to the Chaps.💙✊
Cracking chat so far. Only watched about half, will check the rest out later. Joe Jnr looking very relaxed, certainly more at ease by time I had to pause. Nice one Liam.
Looking forward to this I've met joe a couple of times over the years he's a great guy very approachable down to earth genuine guy and stories for days lol.👍.
For sure many of these guys were genuine old school men of there word but what baffles me is why there was so much respect for the men who were bullies , killers and into boys with connections to all kinds of sex trafficking rings , perverts .These types should never be accepted in any communities or society or idolised that is why the world is now such a mess and getting worse there should be a line draw full stop ! Same as grasses who are now being normalised & semi accepted ! Low life's are low life's end of ! They should not be glorified like gods ! Great interview though well done both of you !
Why would a nine year old boy be present at the negotiations for an unlicensed boxing match between the two biggest names in the game.... Seems strange.... Even stranger he was in the actual ring when the fight took place! 🤔
I remember Joe Sr from Coldingley prison in the 90's he brought some of the cast from the TV show The Bill to come and give the drama group some advice. He was also was good at arranging charity fund raisers in the jail. I remember a celebrities V prisoners 7 a side football match. He was very generous in his praise of the Youth project which I was part off too. A genuinely nice geezer..
Joe senior was my best mate and Joey jr learned from him who was the best. Joey jr is now the best and they don’t come any better ❤he’s like my 3rd son
