Out of all of the college advise video's I watched so far (and belive me, I've watched a lot of them) I found this one the most helpful! I'm going to be a commuter too so maybe you could make a video just for commuters as well.
Rate my professor isn't always the best. Yes, sometimes it can be helpful, but also keep in mind that just because other people don't like a certain professor, doesn't mean you won't. I've had professors that other people can't stand, but I really liked them.

GET INVOLVED IN CLUBS OF YOUR MAJOR!!!!! I just graduated and I got a job because I joined and made connections. College isn't just about having fun and making friends, make connections to help you in life.

People always told me my senior year that I would live by ratemyprofessor and I never believe them until I had to make my freshman schedule a month ago... I avoided taking psych 101 with the hardest professors and instead took a professor that had an awesome rating!!

The only thing you have to be careful with buying text books online and not at your book store is make sure that their is not an access card needed or DVD...sometimes online sellers will sell used books that won't include all the features you need for your class.
One of the best parts about college is that the whole freshman/upperclassmen barrier doesn't really exist. Everyone has pretty much matured all they can at this point, so it's easy to make friends with anybody. Also has to do with the fact that it's not as easy to tell how old everyone is.
Just one side note, to avoid going on Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, etc on your laptop during study/ class time, you can download programs that block the, for a period of time. Very helpful for intense study :)
There's an App for Macs called Self Control and it's great. Basically, the app blocks any websites you list for as long as you would like so when youre in class or studying you won't be able to access the websites. And there's no way around it which is good too even if you delete the app or turn off your computer and restart it!

Normally,the people who take the time to write something there (though I would sometimes leave comments on professors who were awesome) are people who didn't do well in the class. So they will write 'they're too hard'. It's college, folks, not high school. You MUST work hard or you WILL fail. It's not difficult to do well. Do your hw, do your reading, study often, & you'll succeed. Know when to go out & when to stay in (before exams/finals)
when I had computer science in school in 11th & 12th grade we would use the school computers and weirdly enough, playing Solitaire and Pinball made me pay attention a lot more because my hands were busy typing and clicking and I wouldn't zone out LOL
It's crazy how I remember watching this my freshman year of high school and now I'm going to be a college freshman in the fall.
