Dr ..thank you for the clear explanation. I can identify with the last two causes..how and who can remedy it? Suffering for over two years. Cause insomnia as well 😢
I thought I had an abscess from a cavity. Dentist said no cavity or infection. Tooth is healthy so I saw a Dr and he said TMJ. Anyone else have dental, ear and jaw pain?
I have no pain or ANYTHING in that list, but the noises. They start when i open my mouth pretty wide, sometimes not even when doing the three nuckles test, but a little after. I dont have them when eating. Will this become a problem in the future? My father has my same problem, no pain or discomfort, only noises
Can you please help me, my left jaw is bigger or can say wider than the right one. Or we can say the right one is smaller than the left one. I am not able to understand what is this. Can suggest any treatment?
@@titan3537 Sounds like TMJ. Get an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon who specialises in TMJ to fit you with a "Deprogrammer", pronto! Don't wait; if your jaw muscles have changed than you're probably already a little too far down the road for my taste!
Yes they do work, they are also known as a "deprogrammer". Try one for yourself. Best to get treated by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specialises in TMJ. However it must be said that it is essential for you to get it treated SOONER RATHER THAN LATER; If TMJ is left for too long and the joints are damaged the deprogrammer won't work and you'll have to have surgery. TMJ ruins lives, get it treated as soon as you can.
What do we do if our tmj is caused by muscles. Also I have tinitus from clenching. Any advice. Please help. I used to wear a splint and it worked but then it broke and my second one no longer works.
I'm going through this muscles and neck pain headaches mirgraines even temples facials behind the head esp everytime i tried to sleep always a struggle my right eye not the actual eye, neck has been an issue tightness, had my wisdom tooth removed right bottom end few years back since then I've been having neck issues facial pain jaw pain headaches sensitive to light sounds even vertigo nausea vomiting heck alot honestly, been going to Chiropractor since last year and they still can't determine which one it is Tmj or neck Oml.... obviously I've been complaining about the same crap , please give some form of idea so i can tell these chiropractors where they're getting it wrong!
Do you find that you can't open your jaw fully, as in super wide? Do you get any cracking/crunching sounds in your TMJ joints? Do you get pain in your face such as your masseter muscle? Do you get pain in your TMJ joints when chewing or speaking? If so you've probably got TMJ. Your symptoms are already in line with TMJ, including the neck pain, and since this started after wisdom tooth removal, chances are it is in fact TMJ. A few years is far too long to go on without having this corrected; uncorrected TMJ causes IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO THE TMJ JOINTS over time! I implore you to urgently book an appointment with an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who specialises in TMJ disorder. If you're having a hard time finding one, call your local pain clinic(s) and ask if they can refer you to one or at the very least recommend one. They will more than likely treat you with a device known as a "deprogrammer". This is conservative treatment that they will try first before more drastic measures are undertaken. Trust me, it's far better that the conservative measures work, so DON'T DELAY, BOOK THE APPOINTMENT NOW! If you struggle to afford it, BEG, BORROW or STEAL if you have to! If the wait time is long, get the pain clinic to refer you, and really ham up the symptoms if you have to: "I can't sleep, I can't work, my life is falling apart, please please help me!!" Let me know how it goes :)
Ive had this for 3 years and it won't go away and I've tried everything at home. Dentists told me there is nothing they can do and there is nothing I can do. Some days I'm ok but other days my jaw and head hurt. I just learned to live with it at this point
Have you tried a deprogrammer/bite splint? Don't visit a dentist, visit an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specialises in TMJ. If you are having trouble finding one, call local pain specialists/clinics and ask if they can advise one for you. Let me know how you go. But for the love of god DO NOT GET USED TO IT! The longer it goes untreated the worse the pain gets and the condition may become IRREVERSIBLE. Eventually it will deteriorate to the point where there is CONSTANT, STABBING PAIN in your jaw/neck/etc. Nerves become damaged, sending constant pain signals. Nerve pain is a living hell, trust me, it feels like you're being stabbed with a knife constantly. And if you like sleeping, you don't want nerve pain; the longest I was unable to sleep due to it was 5 days, at which point I was hallucinating! TMJ is a serious issues that demands to be addressed as soon as possible. Good luck. Book that appointment ASAP.
