I took apart the housing that covers the steering wheel to find that theres no extra wiring for me to add a paddle shift. Theres a different steering wheel (I believe from the platinum) that comes with the paddle shifters but the car doesnt have the wiring. I think only the platinum series came with that feature, correct me if I'm wrong. Happy Thanksgiving :)
From what I've seen and understand, all 07+ G35's auto trans as well as all auto trans G37's and Q40s are pre-wired. 2014 and 2015 Q50 are pre-wired as well as some but not all 2016 Q50s and Q60s. I think the FX37's are all pre-wired but the EX35 are not.
Okay so i already looked and I do have the hook ups for them. Why do I see people taking their steering wheel and everything completely off when you can just do this? If I bought the oem paddles with the plastic shrouds from a S model for mine, it would literally be the same exact install correct?
I believe you have to extend the steering wheel column all the way out to you and all the way down also, you should be able to get it then! Best of luck
@@devilzwanganmidnight5951 not really sure. I would think so because they should make all the cars with it to cut cost down. Best thing is to just open the area up around your steering wheel and see. Takes a few minutes to do. Then you will know for sure that you have those wires, 👊
Yeah, it's a fkn joke infinti can't just throw them on stock. I think ppl pay enough for q50s and any other car that have the hookups already preinstalled but can't throw on some cheap paddles? Pathetic.

Really don't know. You would have to pull the casing from the steering column and see you have those plugs and the screw holes to mount the paddles. That would be the best way to check
UnboundGodz So I think that would be hard to do by myself. But I can tell you that the response time lags a little bit. The slap stick is better. I like it for show and also that it's right at your fingertips if you need it
My 2007 G35x was pre-wired for the paddles and they work just fine. The only problem was that the trim pieces I got were designed for a car with the electric column controls and my G35 just has the lever. So, the bottom trim piece of the new set won't fit at all. It still works pretty good and you can't see it unless you look underneath it.
@@stephen44911 yes I get it makes the drive more enjoyable. I just had the idea that those would only be suitable for manual cars, but hey whatever makes you enjoy your money is what you should do!

is there a certain technique? i pulled the part against the wheel up first. from there it seems like the back part is stuck. i thought there might be clips in there or something so thats what i was afraid to break
This is by far the hardest bit of the job, but the trick is to turn the car back on and rotate the steering wheel so it's upside-down. This will give you a lot more clearance to maneuver the panel down and out of the way. Same goes for installing the paddles themselves- the wheel will need to be turned to different orientations to allow clearance to the different parts of the job.
+yofacei1sh1d1ous it's physically impossible, a manual transmission has a clutch, which you obviously don't know.. and every single gear is in a different location in a manual, so even if you created some device to move the shifter you'd have to be just short of a rocket scientist to make that work flawlessly. a manual transmission is for people that want to enjoy the car experience.. paddles are for kids with autos that think that by shifting manually makes you go faster, which is incorrect.. I know you've been answered, just thought I'd explain it to you since it seems that you don't know the difference really, so now you know
