Having played the role of Jimmy myself several times and having directed it twice. .. I have to say this is a thoroughly professional and enjoyable production for a high school production. Bravo. And as a musical theatre educator/professor for nearly 30 years it truly warms my heart to see high schools with so much talent and dedication. BRAVO.
I don't usually leave comments, but I just wanted to say these kids are extremely talented! And I thought it was a soundtrack! The orchestra was amazing!!! Well done!!
As a person who is able to hear the tonal differences between Cantonese and Chinese...considering Hong Kong was mentioned, I was pleased to hear actual Cantonese words spoken...considering it is not a written language but Mandarin is, I was pleased to hear that spoken too so that the story is satisfied...to an extent...but enough to my personal satisfaction😌
LOL! Of all those to whom I gave praise, I forgot credit the one whose hat I usually wear. Director ... great job! You might be the first director I've ever complimented as I find most directors are, in fact, reproducers who contribute little that is original or imaginative.
@@Broadwaybaby1968 Yes I saw it when it came out at the La Habra Theater when I was in the seventh grade, but that's not what I said, which is that the movie "takes place" in 1922, like in the words of the opening song. So 1922 would be a great year for a remake, maybe based on the musical version.

Next year will be the centennial of the year the musical takes place in (1922)... could there possibly be a movie version in the works???
