***** Oh mai... The fact that everybody has the time to do that.. IT'D BE AWESOME! xD Thanks Google The moment you said that... I thought of it all with Minecraft.
This is one of the few times in a game where I was actually compelled to save somebody because I thought they could actually die. If only the music didn't change when you got near an enemy. I had to run around them so I could listen to this.
+Brendan Risney Oh good lord I know what you mean. Playing the remake right now, and I got so annoyed everytime an enemy interrupted my music... Wish they could have changed that for the remake :L
@@its_sherv they throw death flags at you, and when it begins your instructions are to head to Princess Zelda... not because Zelda could save her, but so Zelda could unlock your transformation abilities, thus no longer needing Midna. You were basically told at the start that Midna would die, and that these would be your last moments with her. So yeah, feeling sad is part of it, but it also has the panic, desperation, and loneliness hidden in the notes as well.
This was my favorite song from Twilight Princess. It combines dread, panic, and peace into one song. Also I was like, "GODAMMNIT MIDNA!! DON'T FUCKING DIE ON ME!!" Smooth McGroove captures this perfectly.
NaiblistheCurious1 I don't mean to discredit Mr. McGroove and I'm not saying his vocal range isn't good, but the range he uses in the video is actually very common for baritone singers and some bass singers.
JesseRalts I'm a bass with a very large range, especially when I clouding fry- the fact is, he uses his falsetto very well, and is consistently hitting low C's in chest. I'd say he has a 4+ octave range, and that's crazy.
Who else thought they were on a timer when you reached this level? xD I thought i was being timed till she died and i was like "FUUUUUUUCK i gotto save her!!"
I didn't really think there was a timer but I still went as fast as I could as if there was a timer mostly for role-playing and immersion. If you dick around you won't be penalized but then the illusion of immersion and urgency shatters.
Does anyone remember when you first heard the song in game? I do, I wasted no time to get to Princess Zelda; it made me feel like i had to get to Zelda immediately, that it was the only thing that mattered, did anyone else feel like that? They really did a great job on the song. Cheers to Nintendo for their music.
I for sure did, I remember playing this and game for the first time and all I could think was "hold on, please don't die! I'll get you there as fast as possible, don't you die on me damn it!" And then the end of the game came and I will admit I was crying because I knew link wouldn't ever get to see his new found friend ever again. They became close throughout the game with Midna going from being annoying and bossy, to relatable. She just wants to save her people. I respect that so so much. I love the legend of Zelda games with every atom of my being.
i remember crying my eyes out as this part when i played it on the gamecube back in '06, and i still do! midna was and will always be one of my favorite LOZ characters
Experience 1% of people had at this part: "Whatever. Midna sucks." Das Papu Except not. I'm pretty sure that particular Link (from OoT and MM) actually dies in the lost woods before he can find Navi. Which is tooootally fucked up for a Zelda game. haha
The first time I was playing TP my jaw dropped when this started playing, you are a literal lone wolf no one can or will help you, hell they won't even talk to you you are running around confused and scared trying to find help with your friend and companions life on the line... This song is good btw
Back when I first played this game, this was the part that hit me the hardest: You're running as fast as you can to protect your only companion, as well as your one chance to save the world. And all the while this song sets the mood, making you feel the tension and desperation of the moment as you run in the rain, tearing through anything in your path in a desperate attempt to reach Zelda before it's too late. I don't think I'll ever forget this part of the game, and how powerful the music was. You've truly done this scene justice, McGroove. Thank you for your perseverance and dedication to what you do.
This marks the first video of yours I've ever seen. I saw your beard and I KNEW... I just knew this was going to be good. 'Good' is one heck of an understatement. This is AMAZING. I love you. Thank you for existing, good sir.
I listened to this when it was out for a week an in school i played this an everyone in music class just listened to your music for the period and its still my favorite
this was my first zelda and I played it when i could still feel emotion heavily. I felt peace, i felt terror, i felt courage and at this..so much pain. she was like the sister i never had and the ending killed me inside. but i can say that this, we loved this game and it will be praised by me till the day i die.
I genuinely started crying when Midna got exposed to the light. Like I’ve been playing Twilight Princess for 12 years now and to this day this scene still makes me cry

Same thing with me. Twilight Princess is my favorite too and probably one of the best games I have ever played. It's almost perfect. If only it was a bit more difficult
***** The DS zelda ganes get way to much hate, i really liked them... in spirit tracks i actually liked the ocean temple(crazy right?) Although in Phantom Hourglass it almost kept me from beating the game...and its because you have to go back to it a ton, and the puzzles get reset each time and *rage* but the companions/helpers/sidekick (whatever you wanna call it) were cool...atleast one of them.
***** Were probably the only two people in the world who liked ocean temples. Although im not forgiving the one from Twilight Princess. Its whats (currently) keeping me from beating the game .
Now, I'm not a huge fan of Twilight Princess. I'm not even a huge fan of ZELDA. But this theme was one of the best moments in the game for me. And now it's being sung by Jesus. *clap*
I love you XD that was amazing. Also I love the guest appearance of your kitty cat...... this is the first video I've seen from you, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last lol keep it up!
Love that you add the scene in the middle!!! First Zelda scene I actually was crying a bit, still feel my heart melt when I hear you doing this, beautiful job good sir

I'm pretty sure my heart is crying just as much as I am. I haven't played this game in over a year now. And I cry everytime. I can feel that emotion through Smooth McGroove's voice Btw I sing this song when i'm working for some odd reason
+Ballofwhacks Productions why does it bother you that I don't like Midna? This is a great acapella cover of a great song. Hearing this actually makes me appreciate her actions and beliefs at the last half of the game.
Man I can’t help but smile listening to this. Just the biggest grin randomly splits my face and I can’t hold it back and I don’t even know while. Just such great vibes.
I found this video again. the last time I seen this, I was around 6-8. I’m a freshman in high school and wow this sure does bring back a lot of nostalgia. I would come back home from school, rushing to watch this video
Major nostalgia over here. I was 9 when I saw my mother play this game, and have loved it ever since. I'm 17 now and this makes me so happy. Such a beautiful job!
I would've cried more if she ACTUALLY died! Being left it TP's large world without a companion, and in the second darkest Zelda game, scares the shit out of me! And Midna's awesome anyway!

I just played this scene yesterday on the HD remake, such a great song! (And my biggest luck that this song is on the soundtrack CD that came in the Limited Edition for the game.^^
I literally don't care about anyone at all but at this moment in the game I was like: Watching the cutscene with zant "Alright you're hear you took my shit now what...oh....OH SHIT" Running to the castle "Oh shit, oh shit. She's fucking dying." Cat helps me "um... Ok"
my favorite track from Twilight Princess & one of my top favorite video game tracks. your rendition of this classic song is both hilarious & beautiful at the same time
Most amazing singing sheep I've ever heard. And it makes sense since Smooth is constantly referred to as some form of "Jesus" (me included, sometimes) and Jesus was a Sheppard
It would have been hilarious if you did the enemy music in the middle of the song, it's what always happens to me when I play. The beautiful music gets interrupted by the enemies.
yeah, but the mirror of twilight (portal connecting midna's world to link's) has been smashed completely BY MIDNA( cause she's the only one who can completly destroy it) soooooo nitendo has got some real hard thinking to do if a sequel is in order....( just saying...)
Midna's Lament from Twilight Princess
^_^
Sorry for my language, but GOD DAMN YOU, YOU MADE ME CRY MANLY TEARS ;____;

Isso ficou muito perfeito! Você é minha inspiração. Gostaria de fazer vídeos como esse, adoro cantar também!
this part of the game was sad, but this acapella is excellent!

Close your eyes and imagine sheep and birds are singing this.
NOOOO YOU RUINED THIS SONG I THINK OF THAT RATHER THAN MIDNA NOOOOO
Haha this is amazing.
lol i like to imagine every voice is aaa different sheep and their all like in a line
***** Oh mai... The fact that everybody has the time to do that.. IT'D BE AWESOME! xD
Thanks Google
The moment you said that... I thought of it all with Minecraft.
Gave me a laugh as soon as I read your comment. XD
Inaccurate it should be interrupted by the battle theme every 2 seconds
ikr
And maybe an occasional ,,F*ck!" To showcase the player that gets stuck in the battles
To counter that, once I got to Castle Town I would just sit and listen to this theme.
Do you want to kill Midna?
Okumist Noooo, I LOVE Midna! But there is no timer, so you can dawdle a bit and enjoy the music.
+Kofu H. (Will) lol, I'm playing the remake as well, and the enemy music really does ruin the mood.
I felt a little worried. But mostly I felt sad.

I had that thought when I first played the game, that's good game design to make the player care about the characters.
Yep it's also how they keep you invested in the game.
Phantom Asriel again, good game design.
DONT DIE ON ME NOW MIDNA U WERE MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN TWILIGHT PRINCESS U WERE REALLY COOL I LIKED UR RUDENESS AND EVERYTHING!!!!
My heart melted as soon as this started.
same bro, same
RhymeBeats your heart thawed by his singing? Yeah, it's very beautiful.

I did too, don't worry😝
+Vgamer311 Exactly.
I did not, but I kinda wish there was one. It would've made it much more challenging and real. Too bad there wasn't one. :(

Yes! My only issue was as soon as you ran into an enemy the theme stopped playing!!! That’s my only complaint but I completely agree

Story of the next Zelda Game: Zelda - Navi returns!
Das Papu Except not. I'm pretty sure that particular Link (from OoT and MM) actually dies in the lost woods before he can find Navi. Which is tooootally fucked up for a Zelda game. haha
And then you go on as Navi on the Search for the next Fairy Boy, to elicit him out of the safe Woods... :D
Never have I been so moved by the sound "ba"
i said the same thing in my head
**sad moment ruined by them leaving the fight music in**
Always neat part of the game still. Fun stuff

You forgot to include annoying enemy fighting music every time Link gets near a bulblin

+Racketyprune 750 I mean if you hadn't played it yet.
Midna is so cute. There I said it.
Quilava WOAH CONTROVERSIAL OPINION OVER HERE
Yes midna rlly cute!
1:00 NICE PIPES, MY MAN!
I just remembered you after 10 years I still love this
I genuinely started crying when Midna got exposed to the light. Like I’ve been playing Twilight Princess for 12 years now and to this day this scene still makes me cry
I remember watching my older sister play this game when I was about nine (I myself was playing it too, but at a slightly slower pace, since I could read just fine but the puzzles were a tad hard).

Nostalgia does not describe how I feel listening to this song. It's a beautiful mixture of dread and peace at the same time, and it truly is a masterpiece.
Michiru Ōshima, I applaud you for being able to write not one, but two soundtracks (the second being _Fullmetal Alchemist_) that have made me cry--and for both soundtracks making me cry during more than one song.
TP is my favorite Zelda game for some reason. It just ... Got to me in a way a game never has. I can play it for days on end if I wanted. I've beaten it around 12 times. So goddamn good.
Same thing with me. Twilight Princess is my favorite too and probably one of the best games I have ever played. It's almost perfect. If only it was a bit more difficult
amen....
my favorite is a tie between skyward sword and spirit tracks. my favorite helper is a tie between Midna and Fi.
*****
The DS zelda ganes get way to much hate, i really liked them... in spirit tracks i actually liked the ocean temple(crazy right?) I like how the music doesn't change no matter the area you go to. Your only focused on helping midna
Until you’re near an enemy and it ruins the song 😭
Smooth, when I die, I want you to come to my funeral and play a song for me.
Now, I'm not a huge fan of Twilight Princess. I'm not even a huge fan of ZELDA. But this theme was one of the best moments in the game for me.
And now it's being sung by Jesus. *clap*
I ENVY the Zelda franchise.. its so great... seriously Zelda is pure genius in creation.

This one sounds particularly good in acapella form. Great cord progressions, thanks Mr Mcgroove.
You deserve some kind of music award, seriously!
You know this voice is magic when you whistle the same time he does and you actually think it's you whistling.

Love that you add the scene in the middle!!! First Zelda scene I actually was crying a bit, still feel my heart melt when I hear you doing this, beautiful job good sir
I think you nearly single-handedly got me into acapella. I say nearly because of the fludd-less levels of Mario Sunshine.
*Lost in twilight hear my cry,
Shun the light seize the dark.
You even tried protecting me,
It was not enough, no
How could I not see, all his lies.
Even in the dark of the night, it still shined,
Blinding me.
Sombre tears fell down from the sky,
They could no hide me
Even in the distance, I still heard you
(and you'd say)
Let it out, let it out
(breathe in)
Break away, break away
Hush and please listen
Come to my need please kind angel
All my trust lies with you
I could not hold back what was feared,
Stolen redemption, still
It was never meant, to harm you
Stray away from sweet fantasies
Prisoner in a dream
When will someone free my demise
There is no hope left.*
I know that song its midna's lament lyrics
explodinblocks REEAALLLY!!?!?!! (sarcasm intended)
Why...?
Can someone give me a link to the video that uses these lyrics? *_*
I just rapped that!
I teared up listening to this theme the first time and I'm not ashamed of it :')
This is actually amazing. I am in love with this song
I got goosebumps, 12/10!
Same
THE FEELS
You have such an amazing voice to produce sounds like that of this great melody. Fantastic!
it's been 4 years and I'm glad you're still making these amazing acapella covers, you're a genius my friend
One of your best works man
While it is indeed painful to see someone you loved leave forever, it's another thing entirely to see them dying in your arms as you desperately try to save them.
Run. Don't even stop, just, run.
one of my fav songs and my fav zelda game
Replaying this masterpiece right now..
Coincidence?
I THINK NAWT!
Same but now instead I three months ago haha
I'm pretty sure my heart is crying just as much as I am.
I haven't played this game in over a year now. And I cry everytime. I can feel that emotion through Smooth McGroove's voice
Btw I sing this song when i'm working for some odd reason
wow, this is such a nice song that you make me care about Midna. such talent! ^-^
+Ballofwhacks Productions who said I have to be a fan of Midna to like the game? Besides, I chose the pic because it's a simple Triforce symbol.
Just such great vibes.
nothing more beautiful
This video shouldn't even have any dislikes this is AWESOME
Your falsetto is crystal clear and has great range, really beautiful. Not a lot of people have that, consider yourself lucky.
I found this video again.
the last time I seen this, I was around 6-8.
I’m a freshman in high school and wow this sure does bring back a lot of nostalgia. I would come back home from school, rushing to watch this video
These is the best song I have heard in my life
i'm going to play this acapella if i ever walk into a abandoned town at night.
Could you please do ballad of the wind fish?
thatd be so freaking cool
It would be awesome!
One of my favorite pieces from a phenomenal game! So freaking happy that you covered this, Smooth.
I love the cat XD
One of the best The legend of zelda games ever made.
Whippersnappers. I still have my gamecube copy of this game. I doubt a lot of people don't even know about the Gamecube anymore :(
My family didn't have a lot of money, so we didnt have a lot of video game consoles.
Lewtable Yeah I got the GC for a christmas present after the price went down, and I bought the TP with my own money working in highschool.
I keep several GC titles including Zelda TP and also have the first The Legend of Zelda in golden cartridge
I know. It's weird to think that I'm not the youngest generation of gamer anymore...
Major nostalgia over here. I was 9 when I saw my mother play this game, and have loved it ever since. I'm 17 now and this makes me so happy. Such a beautiful job!
man I love twilight Princess such a good game
I would've cried more if she ACTUALLY died! Being left it TP's large world without a companion, and in the second darkest Zelda game, scares the shit out of me! And Midna's awesome anyway!
By darkest, do you mean MM? 'Cause that's some dark shit...

your cat must really worry for you. He/she just sits there watching its master make a bunch of random sounds for 3+ minutes
that's exactly what I was thinking XD
3+? XD Try like 40+ It'd take a whole lot of time to do each individual sound and throw em together. But yes. I do agree.... His cat must worry A LOT!
The best part is that the cat just sorta sits there and enjoys the ride when hes dancing him.
Normally I would say "Cats are their own masters!" but Smooth is the master of the universe so I don't have to.
Jonathan Isenhour lol "dancing him"
Man, you've got the most satisfing voice I've ever heard. I could listen to you a whole day. What a skill. LOve your videos ♥
I just played this scene yesterday on the HD remake, such a great song! (And my biggest luck that this song is on the soundtrack CD that came in the Limited Edition for the game.^^
+Der Wrestling-Nerd Same here :)
Great song, until a BUBLIN SHOWS UP AND IT STOPS THE MUSIC FOR A POINTLESS FIGHT
My favorite moment from Twilight Princess. :)
I literally don't care about anyone at all but at this moment in the game I was like: Watching the cutscene with zant "Alright you're hear you took my shit now what...oh....OH SHIT" Running to the castle "Oh shit, oh shit. She's fucking dying." Cat helps me "um... Ok"
So much nostalgia! Midna was such a great character and had a great arc!
1:47 middle left. Best part.
Apparently there's a lot of people mistaking Smooth for a god, let me put it straight to y'all, he's not a god, he's THE GOD.
Poor Charl. He probably had a date with Louise but couldn't make it, what with having to appear in Smooth's beautiful cover of this song.
my favorite track from Twilight Princess & one of my top favorite video game tracks. your rendition of this classic song is both hilarious & beautiful at the same time
This is the sound gods descending from the golden stair to great us mere mortals

+charles williamson There's always time for a spell check
I now have the sudden urge to replay LoZ: TP :3
THIS IS AWESOME! But am I the only one thinking of singing sheeps?
your comment made me laugh SO hard XD
Most amazing singing sheep I've ever heard. And it makes sense since Smooth is constantly referred to as some form of "Jesus" (me included, sometimes) and Jesus was a Sheppard
This was THE saddest part of the game and your vocals made it just that much more intense. The- Feels-
TP is seriously my favorite game.
you should try to arrange the opening of this game, like when you don't press any buttons at the title screen and it shows like that little movie
you gotta love toilet princess mindas lament
how did I get this far into twilight princess when I was 8? my kid self sure was good at Zelda!
ha! TP was waaaaay too easy, kids my days had to beat links awakening or at least OOT, we were so much more hardcore than you
uetzel really? :o I remember it being challenging when I played it, although that was a while back when I played it so idk~
uetzel Link's awakening is probably on of the easiest Zelda games in my opinion :p
uetzel I'm 14 and i can breeze through OoT without a problem, TP on the other hand, not as much
I seem to get worse at Zelda games every year!
this is definitely my favourite of yours. you managed to capture the hauntingness perfectly.
i wish this guy would do a crash or spyro acapella for the ps1 games, as they where the best when i was a kid
Oh my god, yes! I suggested he do Magic Mountain from Spyro 3. He would do it such justice!
It would have been hilarious if you did the enemy music in the middle of the song, it's what always happens to me when I play. The beautiful music gets interrupted by the enemies.
RIP Midna, oh wait, shit, she isn't dead! That means, Twilight Princess sequel confirmed! Woot!
That would be pretty awesome.
yeah, but the mirror of twilight (portal connecting midna's world to link's) has been smashed completely BY MIDNA( cause she's the only one who can completly destroy it) soooooo nitendo has got some real hard thinking to do if a sequel is in order....( just saying...)
Collect all 1000 pieces of the mirror? Lol, no. But It's Nintendo, they'll find a way. :)
Mateus Pieri Amado you know as well as i do that nintendo will find a way around that little issue eventually.
Mateus Pieri Amado Didn't Rusl mention at the beginning of the game the two worlds connect at sunset? Or at least something along those lines?
Mr. McGroove, getting to listen to your Acapella's is honestly like listening to an amazing song for the first time all over again :D
