Hey guys thanks for watching! This is a 1998 Yamaha YZ125 that a subscriber and friend gave to me for free. It was blown up and left in bins for years. I put a ton of time into this design, build and production but it was definitely worth it! Consider subscribing for more content like this! Links to products and tools are in the description 😎 Oh yea... YOU GUYS ROOOOCK!!! 🤘
Hands down Mike this is the absolute best looking YZ125 I've seen ever I love your work bro I just finished up my bike my first time doing one by myself I'll send you some pics of it for you to give me your honest opinion on it
@@MichaelSabo not a problem man you put out some bad ass content and this video was perfect. Long video about building a bad ass bike, get the doritos and some mtn dew it's movie time!
Why not? The purple looks amazing, do you think only girls can ride purple or something? What other reason would you think that purple wouldn't look good?
Purple, green, black, blue. All it is missing is tattoos and piercings. My bikes are functional, not arts and crafts projects. Aside than being ugly, it is a good build mechanically. Sorry, I am a manufacturing and engineering guy. What we did before our schools turned into worthless arts and crafts schools.
I really wish you would do more two wheelers. Your video quality and explaining is much better than the time lapse videos on RUclips. I’m just not much of a quad guy
Holy cow how is it I never came across this channel before. I am just blown away if I had just an ounce of your talent man I would quit my job and do rebuilds all day everyday. Love it, keep doing you. I have some catching up to do and can’t wait to see the rest of your content.
Somehow "basket case" gives you the most joy. It is a money pit for sure, and at times it is super frustrating when you can't get parts or you find unexpected damage etc. but the pure thrill of creating a new beautiful thing from garbage is worth the effort!
The 98 Yamaha 2 strokes were the strongest year for Yamaha. Revamped motor and the basic foundations are still in use today. 98’s were freaks. Stupid fast and tuned hot from the factory. Awesome build Mike😎 you gained me as a sub yesterday🔥🤘🏻
You have one of the best channels out there. The time you spend filming and explaining is amazing. I used your Raptop video to reassemble an engine from a giant box and parts and it fired right up. What you are doing here is informative and entertaining. THANK YOU!!! It's so nice to see you actually fix things instead of just swap parts. Making a bolt? That's something I would do, but most people just buy new parts all the time when it isn't always necessary. 28 - 1 is actually a LEAN FUEL/AIR ratio. Believe it or not, you can still burn up your engine that way. I wouldn't run that too long.
51:49 bro you got some serious production going on in this video! Felt like I was watching a micheal bay movie!! 🎥 another amazing build by Sabo!! You give me ambition to make my shit better bro! Thank you 🤙
Great job!! You just gave me the encouragement I need to get my Son's 01 YZ 125 back on the road. It's been sitting in the garage since a "mechanic" named Erik Fowler stole my Son's $1,700 and core engine.. and left Palm Beach FL moving up to Maine!! I was disgusted with the whole ordeal.. but your video just encouraged me to make this a Father and Son project!
This is hands down the best bike build I've ever seen. I love my bikes, but there's just something about this grape ape, the colour combo is absolutely insane... now I have a new life long goal to replicate this exact bike 🥵🥰😍😎🤷♂️🤣
Anyone who says that bike isn’t beautiful is jealous or blind. I never comment but that was my dream bike when I was kid. Taking those colors outside of the box was a great call. Great job!
hey mike you do some of the cleanest restos I've seen I love the color scheme on this bike I do the same work up here in Canada but more older snow machine restorations. thnx for the nice work u do not letting older machines rot away.
Lovely rebuild. Ever since I saw T2 in the theatre I can't help thinking about John Connor escaping the T-1000 whenever I hear a 2-stroke. Use to have so much fun on bikes like these as a kid.
So amazing!!! I’ve been really exited to see this one and the editing of your videos gets better every time, can’t wait to see how good the next one turns out now!!!
purple is my favorite color and i love a bit of a mix in colors like an accent color to go with something, the green accent with purple and black everything else is 110% the CLEANEST bike I've ever seen! i got goosebumps when i saw the finished product.
Very cool build Mike!! This bike is one of a kind and outstanding!! Love to see your work and enjoy watching as well as taking your knowledge!! Believe me when I say that bike no longer looks like a 1998. Again nice work sir!!
47:05 I swear it's like crack when you finally get everything together after all that work and the engine just fires right up. You can tell by the little smirk on his face in the scene after that he's glowing lol. Good shit man, great build, awesome detail with a good mix of video angles and explanation/knowledge/tips, funny commentary without being forced (be afraid of the green!), ya got a new subscriber here!

Such a beautiful bike I love the purple and green my 2 favorite colors and much appreciated going into such details for the build process really showed me some tips with my builds
This is really cool, Im just now getting into this stuff and had no idea about these different type of tools. Looks like a hobby i could really get into. Very important i find something soon to do and stay busy. Thanks for sharing :)
wow my man thats freaking killer. i have a 1989 CR i bought new and it has about 50 hrs on it in its life. it still looks new and runs like a rocket, i might do a video on it soon. thanks for sharing
Really cool ! Great job ! Only suggestion is hang a halogen work light over your newly painted bolts for faster cure time and baked on finish that's flatter and harder than you can imagine
Man this bike looks insane! I feel like if a big 4 brand had this color scheme and graphic style back in the 90s on their Motorcross bikes they would have absolutely crushed it selling to the mainstream! Can you imagine Jeremy McGrath in 98 winning a SX title with his Yamaha looking like this?! Looks absolutely KILLER! Thanks for sharing
For Future Reference you should always use a Cutting Oil or lubricant when Cutting Thread or Tapping when using Die's. It makes it so that the Die Cuts a Sharper Cut rather than Shearing the Thread when Tapping Nuts and Bolts....Pro Tip
