I finally got to try Soju last night! I tried a Blueberry flavoured one and it's amazing definitely can taste the intensity of the alcohol but it is masked very well by the flavours. Cant wait to try more
You, my friend, are a legend! But i did hate the taste at first as well, reminded me of some home cleaning chemical. But after a few more tries, it grew on me. 😁😅
I ordered this thinking it was a Korean beer at a restaurant once, took a sip and realized it was not. It was my first time and no I didn’t drinking it and I’m a big guy 6’3”210lbs so I usually take a good amount before I feel it compared to an average guy. But I will say I did not pass out but I was felling really good that’s forsure! He says not to drink it all in a sitting but it can be done and you’ll get a good buzz but to be safe share it with a spouse or friend so you both feel just a bit because it will get you going
Bought a bottle for a few bucks and wondering what it was. Very informative. If one did not want to drink it neat or with beer does it pair well with anything else?
I've tried various flavors of soju, one of my all time favorites are the americano, it's a newer flavor that has appeared in my local market. I actually mistakenly bought shochu ? at one point not realizing there was a difference, but that product also has a clean taste.
I believe they dun actually cover the brand, it’s just that the youngest in the group will pour the drinks so they have to use both hands to do so as a sign of respect
I can finish 2 bottle of this easily while watching movies/anime but i don't do it often because it's horrible the next morning. Now looking for a stronger variant of soju
2 bottles! I had the one and then had a hard time convincing myself i still need to wake up for work the next day… I can’t imagine a stronger soju, but do let me know if you come across any!
I had Chatuel Soorok Mandarin and that was a mistake... cause it was the cleaner tasting of the variants hahahaha so thats a new addiction of mine... also standard CS Original is good too which is more dry but also 19.3% so its harsher than the fruit varients
I just slurped a guy in TFT names Soju. Afterwards he proceeded to flame a player named Mortdog for existing. It was weird. This video changed my life.
great review! do you go for the normal one or favored Soju? I like the green grape version as it reminds me of the Qoo Drink, but now an adult version since it has alcohol.. Kinda sweet though..
Thanks for the encouragement! Depending on mood I guess, but my default is definitely the original flavour. The fruity flavoured ones will be if i need a sugar overdose!
Just recently began drinking for the first time, and Jinro strawberry was my first!! Kinda still new to drinking. Any experienced soju drinker, Did I over do it and maybe cause permanent damage? I'm 21, 205 pounds, and in the span of 4 to 5 hours I had 3 bottles of jinro strawberry, then a 4th spread out between 2-3 hours. Was this okay? Or may I have caused irreversible damage?
I can’t speak from a medical viewpoint, so I won’t say much about potential damage to the body. But, our bodies tend to be able to repair itself as long as everything we consume is done in moderation! 4 bottles of soju sounds like a pretty heavy session, but so long as you don’t indulge daily, and hydrate with equal parts water in between the alcohol, I suppose that can help with any potential damage. Hope this helps!
You're fine. Long term, consistent, high exposure to alcohol will result in liver damage. The amount you drank was excessive, but because you are new to drinking you should just cut down a bit next time. My friend got liver damage after 2 years of heavy drinking every weekend. Once won't kill you. Have fun and happy drinking~
Based on what I gathered from my Korean friends, you use two hands when drinking in the company of people more senior than you, and you also have to face away from them as you drink!
I didn't know the thing about removing sediments, I've drank lots of sediments :-). I also didn't know any better so I would just drink 2-3 of these 'fresh' ones without mixing them with anything. I wish I could get soju here in the usa for cheap, but few people even know what it is, and I haven't seen it in a store here ever.
Actually i think the newer soju production methods removed a lot of those sediments, although the alcohol content did also drop from 40% in the 80s to the current 14%! I guess soju is cheap only in Korea! Even over here in Singapore it’s around $15 per bottle in stores, and a lot more in restaurants!
Sorry this is a late comment but if you have a Total Wine near you, they have a lot of it for cheap. I've seen it in a few other places too, maybe it depends on where you are in the country.
There's a saying - want to be drunk, must drunk in style...
Yup, why get drunk when you can black out at a Korean family restaurant!

That sounds delicious! I’ve never tried a blueberry flavour, will see if i can grab one!
Try lychee flavor one it’s so good ❤
@Melissa-hg3de I usually prefer the original!
I just bought a grape flavour soju in Bangkok and it’s tremendous ❤ respect to Korea for this gift to the world
I cannot agree more! Soju is pretty good by itself or paired with food!
I loved this, thank you.
I drink a 375ml bottle
of Peach Soju at Korean
BBQ. I’m drinking it right!
Happy Drinking! 🍑
Drinking it perfectly is when you have 2 bottles! Happy drinking! 🍑🍑🤣
Very informative. I want to eat Korean food with soju right now haha
Thanks for the kind words! Having Soju while eating Korean food is the best combi!
Very neat video. You deserve at least a 100K count ! Thanks for the tips !
Thanks for the kind words! Happy drinking! 🍶
I drank it like a beer, straight out of bottle, I hated the taste. But anyways, this makes sense. Thanks

Went from juice to hand sanitizer and then back to tasting like juice
@@karmacop217 just gotta do a shot of whiskey every now and again to remind yourself how smooth and refreshing soju is 😅
Soju is my new favorite drink! It's much better than Vodka!!!! My favorite flavor is GreenGrape Soju! Cheers!
Thanks for watching the video! I love soju as well, and I recently tried one that is lychee flavour, good stuff!
@@sgalcoholguy looking forward to try all of its flavor! thanks!
soju is part of some food rather than just alcohol. korean drink that when they have meal. so i could tell soju is a side kick of a meal.
Yeah, definitely great with food!
I just learned about Soju from a Korean show on Netflix. I don't drink as much as I used to but I am going to look for the flavored kind. Thank you.
The flavoured ones are easier to drink, but not necessarily less potent! Happy drinking! 🍶🍶

I’m actually in Seoul now and had 4 bottles on the first night. Still thanking the Lord i found my way back to my hotel!
love the picture of the Rex
Thank you! Absolutely loved driving that!
I'm just eyeing the impreza in the background cause mine is getting repaired and I miss it
I know the feeling! Although mine’s more of a poster of the cars i’ve had the joy of owning previously. 😁
Thanks bro.
Most welcome! Thanks for watching the video. Happy drinking! 👍🏻
Fascinating facts, thanks for sharing! A truly international Alcohol Guy :)
Thanks for always supporting the channel! Happy drinking! 🍶
What brand has no sediment in it? Thanks!!
Actually the brands now all have no sediments! It’s a more modern way of making soju, just that the old methods of drinking persist till today
Thank you!!@@sgalcoholguy
oh luckyy, bought beer aswell. can try that
Yeah, really fun drink! Best tried at home though, it hits really suddenly… 😅🍻🍶

Love soju, the blueberry is my favorite, though to be honest I don't know if I should be drinking whole bottles like its a beer well 1 to 2 bottles 😅
Hahaha i think it’s more enjoyable in a soju glass! But then again i am only drinking the original flavour…
I drink the whole bottle + have to add some beers to get drunk. I think we are used to drinking too much in New Zealand 🍻
That is intense! 😅🍻🍻
Can we chill it to temperature of like soft drinks and drink it?
Definitely! It’s supposed to be served chilled! Just try not to chug it from the bottle…
Is it customary to drain the glass in one gulp (like a shot)? I always sip it.
I think it’s just the Korean way of drinking it, but even then i do know of many Koreans who sip instead of gulp!
Bought a bottle for a few bucks and wondering what it was. Very informative. If one did not want to drink it neat or with beer does it pair well with anything else?
It actually pairs really well with juices as well, i recommend watermelon or apple juice!
@@sgalcoholguy thank you.

Americano sounds interesting, i’ll have to keep a look out for that
Would a low carb beer be acceptable?
Definitely! In fact the flavours from the soju will be more pronounced!
Thought you have to cover the label with your hand when pouring 🤔
I believe they dun actually cover the brand, it’s just that the youngest in the group will pour the drinks so they have to use both hands to do so as a sign of respect
when i had that soju in particular i kinda didn't like it, i mixed it with a bit of grapefruit juice and it was BANGING
(i cut a grapefruit in 4 and just squeezed the thing in)
That sounds so much better than the flavoured sojus being produced! 🍶🍶

20% sounds like a good soju. I will hunt it down! Happy drinking! 🍵

How many soju shots will give a booze

My fav is the Damso Original Soju, 12% alcohol by volume, 375ml, straight out of the bottle :) it gets you drunk w/o getting you wasted its great
I don’t think i’ve seen that before!
How to drink soju:
Mix it with beer. Got it!
Oh yes please. Best cocktail for a quick buzz!
They did that to you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😊😊😊🤣😊😊😊🤣🤣😊🤣🤣🤣🤣
Soju and beer is deadly! 😅🍻🍻🍶🍶
Lmao yesterday I drank 4 bottles on one sitting 😂
Sounds like a really fun time!
I drunk soju first time in 2 bites and feels nothing. , 😃
That is a scary way to drink, and an even scarier alcohol tolerance! 🍶🍶
Well shit. I’m half way through a bottle of watermelon soju, drinking it like a beer and I’m just fine. Maybe I’ll drink it properly next time.
I think the flavoured ones can be swigged from the bottle, but definitely the best way to drink it is in those small soju glasses
@@sgalcoholguyyeah, I’ll respect it more next time. I think two bottles may be needed next time though lol

Sounds like a good night to me!
who here after squid game
And hopefully after every Korean show!

That’s an idea! 😂
From a Korean telling you, that is definitely not the proper way.
And i’m still learning everyday! Thanks for watching the video!
ONLY 16.9% 😂😂😂😂
Deadliest 16.9% i’ve ever had! 🤣🍶🍶
I drunk it as an apple soda, then readed the label 🙄
