- How to make a defensive tower that dispenses dimorphodons, vultures, bats (onyc) and featherlights to attack wild or tamed creatures and strip them of their riders.
That was an exceptional video pushing the boundaries of what anybody else is doing. I may even buy a bath towel.
put a parasaur as the spotter and you have an alarm system as well
You put a Doedic because he cant be tamesniped :D if u got a "Flying-Gigabite" you dont need an para as alarm system, better hide it :)
That would be terrifying
Imagine an army, roaming up to a base, ready to encounter rexes and gigas and warfare and all that
But then the sky just goes black as hundreds of dimorphodons swarm in from over the walls and rain hell upon the invaders
Supreme Leader Nugget just run
Well there screwed
Gavin Pasquale *They’re
You literally just back up and bite and it massacres them all.
@fassenkugel Exactly and rexs are more for bosses. How do you think this would fair against the height and mouth size of a giga?
That is a very intelligent design. I like the fact you're making use of the AI defensively alongside building mechanics. It's something no other ark players do much. Would love to see you make a turret tower that enables velonosaurs to shoot out of it, but it is armored from being sniped.
Been done using railings
Very nice.
I was thinking the same thing. Could I put a layer above with velonosaurs. lol.
But PS4 has a animal limit and unofficial doesn’t really matter most of the time it’s easy to get bullet to slaughter or all of those animals!
Bro this is absolutely amazing. Keep working with this mentality. This helps us pvp players like crazy. And this was super fun compared to boring ass turret towers
I would add that you should disable victim collection on the dimorphs so they don't become quickly over encumbered.
Absolute genius man, you have taken the creature mechanics to another level! Funny you have done that ladder thing, I had the exact same idea for velonasaurs but not got round to testing it, great minds think alike I guess 😜
Do a video on this plz captain fatdog
Would love to see something for the velonasaurs
It’s already been done except the person used metal railings. As long as you glitch their heads thru the railings they will shoot enemies and cannot be shot themselves
You two are my source for genius buidling tips. I have seen another vid on velonas, there railings were used to a similar effect as here with the ladders as Jazzy Jay said before me.
You two are THE ARK gurus!
Playing on Nintendo Switch and I did this before the update when argents where king on the island. Didn’t go so well but they did rack up a few kills before they got cheesed by several players going up against me solo. I’m starting my breed line now on rag. Wish me luck! I have really enjoyed your channel and have used every guide you have made. Haven’t had a chance to use the traps but I’ve made all your boats. I am a onewing acolyte spreading your wisdom to friends and terror to my enemies. Thank you.
Played 2500 hours and been in alpha and mega tribes... Never has anyone one of us thought to do this. Feels bad. Thanks for the post.
Nobody really cares about it because one flamethrower or 1 Giga bite just destroys them all... They're simply to weak with health and 0 armor.
@@BornInArona dumb ass they got 5k hp and 500 melee you will die allot more from 20 of those before you even kill 1 with a flamer or giga
Got any connections on pc? I’ve got 2k hours now and I’m now looking to go mega
@@kennyboi01 you walk backwards while snacking them with your Giga, and you look up while doing this :)
I'm not a dumb ass mate...
@@kennyboi01 except for the fact that you can outrun them even when they have 200% speed fairly easily on foot, and flamethrowers ignore absolute hp value. They literally won't get to you unless you're not paying attention or suffer a huge lag spike at a bad time.
Point blank no scope to the compy skull was poetic and ruthless. R.I.P.
Just built one tonight on the server I play on and it’s amazing for keeping out players on foot/wild dinos. I have used your boat builds in the past and when I saw this I knew I had to at least try it and it’s so cool I love it.
"Inside are aggressive penguins" that line had me bawling for some reason. XD
amazing video. I'm grinning ear to ear with what I plan to do with this build! Thanks so much and GREAT explanation!!!
This has worked amazingly in my ice cave on the pvp server I play on. I've built multiple of these and it has made raiding my cave nearly impossible so far
Love it. Saw the pego version of this in one of your vids, wanted to improve the design and use dimorphs instead. And here you've got a much improved but different version of what I was thinking of. Love the ladder tip, protecting the entrances was the part I couldn't work out.
I haven't even played Ark in months, but I still watch all your videos because you're always so interesting and innovative. Great job, again.
Some featherlights could be helpful in blinding enemies from spying of how many dimorphs or whatever swarm creatures you put in. They also look really cool especially when the two of them spins around the target and it looks like neutron stars
I would say include featherlights 1-2 if you can with hp maxed out so the tower is effective against reapers.
This is actually amazing. What a way to think outside the box
3:27 Compy: HI PERSON 3:34 Compy: Wait wait no-
Fuck compys..
Oh hey compy, one second
Ten seconds of reloading later that compy met God.
You have an amazing ability to make this game do so much more than the developers ever imagined.
Wow this is amazing! Thanks for the great tutorial. I play PVE but where my base is a lot of dinos keep falling in and destroying stuff, and I hate building walls on unlevel ground so this is perfect!
Yet another ingenious contraption! You never cease to impress and entertain.
You're amazing at what you do and I hope you never stop.
If anyone is wondering this still works a year later. I would’ve thought the floating bit would be out of date but I used this on my base and it’s really nice
Still true, however flipping the thatch walls seems not to work for me.
how do you make this floating?
Excellent man, your ability to find strange ways to build on official is incredible.
you are the best youtuber who posts ark videos, both your talking style and creativity are a joy to view.
Very nice video! I enjoy the calm quiet commentary as well :) feels almost like a Bob Ross video but with murder birds
This was really one of the greatest videos I've seen for ARK! The idea is incredible and definitely would cause Raiders to work harder to raid us. Thank you very much!! :) #Subbed
I have had an idea like this for awhile but never put much thought into it. This is something i would never be able to think and is amazing.
I'm excited to try this at the opening of the sunken forest. This is fantastic. I can't wait to show my boyfriend. He's going to love it.
you should not have entrusted me with such genius, this is now going to be the bane of every server I join from now on
Your mine is working over time you make me wot your nolage your vids are second to none. Thank you so much for your time
I love watching your videos but got to say I've never loved one more than this one. So many good uses.
Mind blown!
Hey there. I gotta say, this tutorial intrigued me for months...and yesterday I`ve finally built it!!! Took me under two hours... WHAT A BEAUTY! Used a Carbonemys instead of a Doedi and it works PER-FECT-LY! And since my Dimorphodon-breeding (plus 100%imprinting per flyer) is working as well....Raiders gon have a HUGE problem entering my base. Especially since I´ve built a similar turret on the backside of my base...with 28 highlevel (+100%Imprint) TROODONS! (
The ingenuity in this game never ceases to amaze me with the broken ass building in this game
if you put a daedon instead of the pachy (the dino they are following) and put it on auto heal so they will get healed instead of just a following dino
speed killer that requires soooo much food but that is a great idea
would be a full time job stocking that trough with food
I use a parasaur which notifies me when somebody is around.
Isn't auto heal still broken? Like, it stays active from the moment it turns on until the pig's food drops to 0, even if no dino nearby needs it...
Also, Dimorphs should be either 100% OK or plain dead after the ordeal, so no need for healing.
i was already considering dimorphs for defense against corrupted, but nothing like this. this is awesome!
I love ypur approach to this game man...
Really cool and creative stuff as always!
My partner built one of these on our Island server today, it works!! Thanks for the video :D
Awesome video! Very cool to see how well of an area they can cover.
Nothing against PC (I want to build one myself, so I can play StarCraft again), but it's nice to see a fellow Xbox player making some ARK content!
This is an ingenious design for a dimorph turret. I'd thought about trying to build something like this, but never got around to it since I play single player and never really needed it. Most often I just set my defenders to follow a passive dino so that they return to base after a defense.
Just dropping into to say thanks and let you know this shit is really good and i wish you went further with this. Ive not only made this build on small tribes but also have made several water builds. The water is a game changer for the role of the spotter, in the water a tuso spotter with a bunch of tusos around it. This is very hard to deal with alone and all that is needed is the tusos themselves.
the tusos could be encumbered surrounding the spotter tuso and you can just use eels and mantas to chase. Its more about finding a spot underwater and devoloping your taming methods. I do all this solo and it this point im looking for buyers to get my tuso taming method no one else knows so thanks again man. hope to see you back in ark 2
Very informative on turret distance too learned something I didnt expect to great video!
Love your content always creative, some of your designs are game changing like this one
Holy Mother Onewing! you are my hero. This sucker is going up with in the week.
Nice vid as always, I have done similar things with chalicotheriums and dilos on quetz but the main issue is wild titans being aggros to this turret tower, if the dinos inside are on ignore whistle you would have to try not to die by titan whilst remotely whistling passive before it gets wiped, I had aggressive chalicos and titan almost wiped my solo base but was on heed so I didn't lose too much.
Absolutely perfect! Thank you for putting this together! Helped me get some extra defense in spots I had to worry about meshing. Should call this the anti meshing tower lol
Your ideas are just crazy. I bet you leave all the alphas shaking in their boots, how does someone combat a onewing?
his ideas are creative, but overall they are overcomplicated and ineffective ways of using mediocre tactics that have been abandoned months-years ago. This is literally no different than whistling a pack of dimorphs yourself, guess what happens? they use any decent dino and kill all of them in a few seconds, then raid this base you wasted your time and mats on. this channel to me is more about showing off ideas, not actually useful and applicable on real pvp servers(for the most part, some stuff is for sure.)
@@t9t9t9t9t9 Someone wanted to implement bee drones where the queen stays safe while the drones go out and slow players down and dismount them. A player cant use a good dino if they arent riding it. Then the turrets or dimorphs could shred that dino.
I don't get why so many ARK players are always so quick to put other people's ideas down like that.
The truth of the matter is that most raiders nowadays just use overwhelming force in the way of explosives and tames to make up for their lack of strategy.
Things like the dimorph tower are designed to work on a layered level. It works in tandem with other defenses to add even more of a challenge to would be base raiders.
The fact of the matter is that there probably are so many diverse ways to use the mechanics in ARK that we won't run out of new tactics anytime soon.
@@AymaKon How did I put his ideas down? All I said was my honest opinion on the channel and what it represents from my personal perspective.
@@t9t9t9t9t9 Not you, m8.
You're a fucking wizard One Wing. This channel never ceases to amaze me.
I've been playing Ark since 3 months after it entered early access and I didn't know you could use animals to act as spotters for other animals until now.
Great info and great ingenuity.
By the by...can spotters see thru ladders? If so, I'd think using your ladder technique to encase them would be helpful.
The Faithslayer I'm not actually sure but the reason gravestones are used is because there is no blind spots. You can only cover the doorway with ladders, if you shift it any further they become detached so the doorframe creates blind spots. Things can also walk straight through them is they get pushed for any reason.
xONEWINGx how do I use one dion as a spotter Iv has this game from like week 1 and this it new to me as well haha
@@blueberrycrush5420 yere I want to know that to
But they fall through
I also would like more info on the spotters. I THINK that since tames are in the same tribe. The Dimorphodons on "attack YOUR target" treats to spotters agroing as "you"
It's a chain effect that can only last two dinosaurs. Am I correct?
I have one of these set up now. Added turrets on hatch frames, and put a generator on the floor below. Also had dimorphs getting stuck on the floating ceiling with the pilar on top, so I use chairs in a circle facing away from the pilar.
You're a genius mate! Keep pushing the boundaries
Wow... superb vid. Thanks for sharing. I love the lader-technique!
Love your work, brother!
so for people who are playing on S+ servers (different building mechanics) it seems like the core mechanic being used here is that birds can fly through ladders? I've tried doing something similar to this before but could never really figure out a way to get the birds safely back inside the box again after being triggered! This was a brilliant design to see, thanks for sharing it!
Your builds are always spectacular
I'd wondered if something like this (what I was referring to as an 'aggressive tether' for lack of a better term) could be done. What you've done here has far exceeded the hopes of theory craft I'd pondered on in idle times. I was wanting to make a phioma in a stone box with a trough and window to refill that trough. It would have some raptors outside of the box set to aggressive with a large targeting range and short follow distance on the phioma. But this is far more sophisticated and much better conceived than I'd imagined. I didn't even think about protecting the idle aggressor tames or having a spotter. That funnel is a neat trick as well and I'd have never arrived at what ladders could do on my own, of that I'm certain.
Am I the only one who finds his voice commentary relaxing.......
Great video bro u always help in ark with great content and great ideas towards making an unraidable base man ur cool
It's been a long time i didn't see your videos i need to watch them again :D
Been watching this guy got years he definatley knows his stuff. I would like to a velonsaur turrett trap if possible please =).
Love Dimorph's, allways have a pack, gotta turn harvest off, tho, cause they get 2 heavy, and cant move.
they still last hit sometimes, so u could cheese them, if u send in animals/people full of stone, i guess.
the knowlege u got on this game, and how 2 cheese the stupid building mecaniks, is amazing!
Instant stop what you're doing and press play!
I bet the parasaur would make a great spotter, with its detect enemies ability.
yep
I would love to play Ark with you. You're such a chill guy.
The Man does it again
this is an over 100000000.... IQ idea! expensive and tricky but amazing
Looks like something that can be built on a platform saddle. Nice.
That would be op in OSD
Why is no one commenting on the fact that if you are attacked by a Rex or giga then all the dimorphs will be killed instantly?
I would like to see a variation of this for halloween that uses araneo spotters and onyc fighters. Might need to be built for PVE though, but it would make for a nice and spooky addition to anyone's base.
i love how he just slowly reloads his sniper to kill that compy
i just built this last night in single player. Fun build. Cant wait to do this on a PvP server
This Is the coolest thing I've seen in ark.
good to see you building again!
F'n ONEWING! THe Man, the Myth, the Legend! Ark should give out an Innovation Award!
So impressive man, can't wait to try this.
Do it with dragons now with a bigger box lol
and dragons are clunky and easy to shoot
You mean wyverns
I'm using this concept to build defense on a sky base on unnoficial. Except instead of dimorphadon I'm using onyc. The only way to soak the base is with a flyer. There are velos for added damage and Araneo to slow them down.
For those people who play Primitive Plus this could be even more useful. Also even for me on single player since I don't want to invest too much of my resources into turret ammo. Granted there is less of a need for turrets in single player but I wanted to use this and Plant X when I move back to the Extinction Map from the Island.
One of the most intelligent things i saw in ark.
Hi man. Ive made this on base and it works like a charm.
VIDEO REQUEST : SOMETHING FOR VELANOSAURS BASE DEFENSE
Your tower would work amazing with Velonasaur especially with the ladder doors thanks again for a great tutorial 😀
PROFESSOR X I’m wondering about the range difference
Not gonna lie, with the changes in ASA coming up this looks extremely effective. Especially with AI pathing changes. If it allows the defender to use this in caves and they can path find to and back then this is gonna be amazing.
The build up to kill that compy was savage
This is so smart great concept. I will try this on my server
Imagine you almost got a victim, but a ptera or pelag got too close before they did and the dimorphs attacked that instead while the would be victim fled as quick as possible
First off love your videos, very helpful. I just made this today and waiting to try it out more. Do you think it would work on a boat? I'm built on iceberg on island map prim+ and think some of these on boats would be great defense.
imagine that, but built on a quetzal. That would be like a mothership sending out drones in a fight.
Love you content and this video got me to love yout channel❤️❤️
Building in ark is an exercise in futility and a lesson in black magic and blood ritual summoning
Lol you had me at the penguin barks an order lol
Imagine if onewing was your enemy general during world war..R.I.P.
I was thinking about this tower today and am interesting question came into my mind:
How does this tower fare against an aerial attack? There's always going to be quetzal bombers. How high up do the spotters detect? If love of sight is an issue, Would it work if you had both the penguin spotters with graves protecting them for horizontal detection and then a doed spotter intop if that with no roof so it can detect vertically? Also the does might even act as a good decoy to waste their time and bullets if they try to snipe it
Always great videos :) good job 👍
a free roaming aggressive dimorph army... that sounds like something i might set loose into the world.
Love your videos man!
This will be my next build. I love it. :)
Try that with velanosauruses like shooting trough the ladders, maybe thats the way how to protect them from snipers
You are the best👌🏻, keep it up brother 👊🏻
3.35 casually cocks fabi pops compy checks for witnesses. subbed just for that lmao
Who needs a desert titan flock when youve got this!
