The Ovations - Twistin' the Night Away - 1966 on THE BEAT, the ALL BLACK talent pop music show hosted by legendary DJ "Hoss" Allen.
Louis Williams really did his thing. I always wanted to meet Sam Cooke, but I was very young when he was murdered. I met Louis Williams. To me, he sounds just like Sam Cooke. That was a great moment in my life. Rest in peace Sam and Louis.
Wow, that's Otis Redding giving the introduction. How cool is that!!??
Rumor has it the host Hoss Allen was so upset when he heard the how was to be cancelled he didn't want to go on . So Otis Redding hosted this episode
Playa Fly directed me here!
Bill Chill,Memphis own Playa Fly's father!R.I.P..
Extremely beautiful. I just love Louis Sam Cooke voice
Wow...THE GREAT BIG O...INTRO..
The lyric is " Here's a man in evening clothes, how he got here, I don't know. He's dancing with a chick in slacks." That's not what Louis says . 😂 I love the the Ovations!
bill chill is in the

Sounds like sam Cooke"

The Ovations is an awesome group. What happened here, I don't know. You will have to listen to the record. It looks like they told them that they only had one minute for the song. I would suggest you not to give up on the Ovations and find another cut.
The band is rushing the PHUCK out of the tempo.
Damn. Louis could have really done his thing and settled into Sam's tone even more so if he didn't have to speed up his phrasing to keep up with these maniacs.
I'm surprised at Gatemouth Brown - he was usually a better band leader than that.
Which one is Mr. Bill Chill?
He could pass for Johnny Talor a little
i thought sam cooke sang this song
ROUGHCANE He did. This is a cover.
Jesus Christ! Sigh....
