Just finished watching. This is a great and really underrated show, however you have to be able to get over some things like bad acting and plastic CGI, especially at the start. It gets better, though. I'd say episode 10 is the point where the story starts coming together and overall episode quality becomes noticeably higher. Don't give too much credit to the reviews because I don't think any of them went any further than the pilot episode, which admittedly isn't that good. It's comparable to Almost Human. But while in Almost Human you get only the high production value and nothing else (the story didn't advance at all), here you get an overarching storyline, a developed setting and politics between organizations. The world feels more alive. Also, keep in mind that the story is more Blade Runner than Total Recall, even though the Recall themes are adequately represented and relevant to the story. Imagine as if there is a Recall organization within the Blade Runner universe. Give it a shot. Shame there was no second season.
"Imagine as if there is a Recall organization within the Blade Runner universe." I think it's more actually "imagine if all the Philip K. Dick stories were set in the same universe."
This show was so good. I saw it when it first aired, and I was hooked. I forgot how great the theme song was though. I would get chills up my spine when a new episode began and the theme song kicked in.
Hard for me to believe that in addition to "Bladerunner" and "We Can Remember it For You Wholesale," the writer had not also read Asimov's "Caves of Steel." They certainly looked like Elijah Bailey and R. Daneel Olivaw to me.
The 90s were the golden age of television
Loved this series!! the theme always struck me as so cinematic. Too bad it only lasted one season - it was ahead of it's time!
best cyberpunk tv show ever made
