Quantum Leap Theme / Intro / Opening - JUST THE INTRO (episode clip seamlessly edited out)

- This is the Ultimate Quantum Leap intro available because it's high quality, and more importantly because I edited out the episode clip, which changed from show to show, and just left the part you want to see- the opening of the show! The opening I chose to use was from season 4, which I feel was the best version because it featured all of the greatest clips from previous seasons, and it's just before season 5 ruined the opening with the horrible song change. Enjoy!!!

does anyone else tear up when she says? - "and so dr Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap... will be the leap home".
The voice over lady almost does...
And apparently even reading it
Thanks for that.
Yes! As would anyone with a heart and soul befitting a true believer of this amazing show! If we can't feel with our hearts and imagine with our minds then why are we here? Thank you!
And if that doesn't do it, the theme song sequence does. Takes me right back to being 13 and watching QL on my little b&w tv i had in my room with tin foil on the antenna to "boost the reception".
RIP, Dean Stockwell. So long, Al. We'll miss you.
I didn't know that he passed away. I really liked him. I watched him in Quantum leap and as guest star in Columbo and Star Gate SG1. I will miss him.
Wow that hit me.
Rest in peace ,dean stockwell.
@@Lokietekk, never knew either😯
Sg1 and BattleStar Galagtica, too.
Will always be Al from Quantum Leap to me, though.
I loving memories
One of the few theme songs that still gives me goosebumps and still gives me hope. This show was a masterpiece.
so funny you mentioned that...i get goosebumps listening to it too
this song gives me HELLA goosebumps. Great theme!
This theme was a masterpiece. NBC dropped the ball not remaking this theme for the 2022 reboot
@@MyGuyJustinH They sure did drop the ball
@@cheringme I still like the reboot though
The woman who narrates this is brilliant , she seems so invested in it
Power of good acting. She really sells it.
She is the co writer and co producer of the show.
Heard she is the voice of ziggy, if i remember right
@@timconnors9744, did Ziggy ever actually speak? Or do you mean those little noises when Al slaps it?😂
@@ftroop2000 she talks in season 4 premiere, when he leaps home
This show brings back some sweet childhood memories.
The only show I used to watch with father
Love this show
Agree! One of my favorite tv series during childhood
Yes sir
One of the best ❤️
Airwolf, Quantum Leap, Magnum PI, Perfect Strangers, A-Team, MacGyver
Man, THAT iwas some great TV right there. Who's with me?
+steprockmedia - Knight Rider?!?!? :(
+SlickRick4EVER OMG! What was I thinking? Of course, Knight Rider.
Man this theme song takes me back to when I was young.
Don't forget Baywatch
i'm with you
Maybe one day, Sam will leap back to stop the show from being canceled.
lmao....he probably stop the person who create texting lol, like for instance lmao and lol.
+DPRobertz Best Comment of the Thread Award
Maybe one day sam will leap back to stop the show from being cancelled and ending on cliffhanger or stop donald trump from becoming president.
Sam should leap back in time to stop donald trump from becoming president because thats a wrong in real life that needs to be righted that never should have happened in the first place . the president is racist we have a racist president now. i call trumps presidency trumpagedon or the trumpocalypse because it is the end of the world the apocalypse . where is superman when you need him he can save us from the devil and real life lex luthor donald trump.
Corey Nance He should have prevented Obama instead, as well as you too.
They don't make shows like this anymore. Thankfully it will always be here for us to rewatch over and over.
They tried to bring this show back but it was a failure if you ask me. Nothing will ever beat the original. It was authentic, sincere, and an overall good show.
Incidentally I started watching a show from 2009 called Dollhouse. For some reason it seemed very familiar. I then realized that it's just a slightly different take on QL. Instead of jumping body to body, the subject has personalities programmed into her. As I watch it now it feels like an altered copy of QL.
They rebooted it and turned into a WOKE piece of excrement.
Got to be one of the most original ideas for a tv show ever, with endless possibilities
agreed
@Crazy Coyote But did Doctor Who have the premise of the character leaping from life to life in his own lifetime with someone like Al to talk to? There were some elements from that show but the rest of it was completely fresh way to do time travel and anthology.
Sliders was a lot like this as well. Endless universes, endless possibilities...
Know how easy the writing is?? Not having to keep a story going. It really was a great shoe
Theme song really brings me back
This is probably the most original Sci-Fi show I have come across and it still holds a dear spot in my heart. Just imagine, that one time you were feeling down and someone acted unnecessarily nice to you, it could have been sam all along. He's probably saved more people than we can count.
I agree with you. The Pretender was a good show too.
marotaku25 Just like Quantum Leap... :(
Novembre Pleut agreed
Thorizing you could time travel within your own lifetime Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap Accelerator and vanished he awoke to find himself trapped in the past facing mirror images that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better the only guide on this journey is Al an observer from his own time who appears in the form of a hologram that only sam can see and hear and so Dr beckett finds himself leaping from life to life striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home .
Thanks for typing out what we can all hear in the video "Thorizing"
This always reminds me of my late grandmother.... she was never into scifi but adored this show.
When I hear this intro I always think of her.
My Mom loved this show too and she wasn't a big sci-fi fan. We watched a few episodes before she died.
You can make a religion out of this!
Me of my friend who passed away of cancer. I thank him to introduced me to this show.
My grandmother was the exact same way!
My mother's not really a scifi person but she always loved this show too. It definitely has a soft spot in my heart. I could even persuade her and my sisters to watch a little Star Trek with me because I could say, "Oh, look, Sam is the captain of this new starship." :-)
I just clicked on it and started crying! My childhood! I was born into a poor family, poverty stricken and lived in a remote village and the only joy as a kid was to watch these shows esp Quantum Leap. The theme song has been so deeply imprinted in my soul and at the sound of it, i feel like i quantum leap into my past and relive the moments in a second.
It's a great show that has a little of everything in it bakula and stockwell have great acting chemistry
I was a kid also and the music did the same for me
Same. What i would give to be a kid again
@@gentlemangaz3651 yes, exactly. I was in such a rush to grow up, despite the warnings of my mom and other caring adults. And although I adore my husband and children, I sorely miss the light-hearted times of my past, watching my favorite shows on school nights, hanging out at the mall or the park with friends, and best of all... no woke BS ruining everything (which I hear is likely going to ruin the reboot of QL). I miss the good old days. ☹️
@@AprilJoi5 totally agree with you. No worries about anything as a kid lol. Ah I didnt realise they were doing a reboot of QL, i bet its awful haha
RIP Dean Stockwell. Loved this TV series and the theme.
Decided to see Quantum Leap's intro and I see the news. This fucking sucks. Loved Stockwell's acting in Quantum Leap and other projects.
Rest in Peace.
He was the greatest. Quantum Leap, Dune, Blue Velvet…he was and is a legend. RIP. Thank you for the smiles, laughs and cries..God bless you and your family
One of the greatest shows ever. Period.
you have no sole
my favorite tv show period quantum leap isn't just the greatest time travel show of all time it's also one of the greatest sci fi shows of all time.
what about naruto
OMFG.....I watched this as a kid.......and I just found out Sam never returned home. I am seriously crying my eyes out. He sacrificed himself to save the world one Leap at a time. That hits hard.
You can imagine once he learned how to control his own Leaps he just decided to save others one leap at a time like some Guardian Angel stepping in to stop things in some alternate time line where nothing bad happened because one person had the courage to do the right thing with a level headed mind and a kind heart.
Dr. Becket is a hero, he understood the cost that was required.
As Al the bartender told him, those lives he changed touched others. And those lives others. So it wasn't just a few people he changed, it was many many more.
I grew up watching this show. Taught me to see things from others perspective. Amazing meaning in this show.
michael lewis one of the Best shows Ever made!
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could reinstill that feeling in the people of today?
Love that!!! Me too ❤
I always cry a bit at the intro. I was happy that he got to go home in that one episode to his own time that is.
The episode ur talking about is the leap back
Oh truth be told i cried at the end .
Wait what?!! He leaped back?!
Hopefully the reboot happens. Unless they're going to ruin it, then just leave it alone. Please
I loved the one where he was his teenaged self, trying to save his sister and dad.
I miss these days growing up
Ecordio lexa No kidding, Takes me back to my Jr High years
Lee Nix What would I give to have the ability to Leap into people's bodies through time like Sam so I could leap into my younger self in order to could watch this show again :'(
@@marcobrilli8669 No kidding, Wouldn't that be crazy but then at the same time we would be changing our future. Kinda scary to think about. Have a good one.
Now you got trash reality shows
I wish I could quantum leap to my life back then.
Looking back, this show was way ahead of it’s time. Hats off to actress narrating with emotion and the amazing music in the background as she narrates is impeccable
If I remember correctly it was the show runner's wife, who was an actor and producer in her own right, who narrates the intro. It hits hard.
sometimes i come back here to listen to the theme song bc it's soothing and honestly just so good of a song.
One of the greatest theme songs to have ever existed!!!
Agree, I also have to add The Golden Girls and Murder She Wrote. The Nostalgia it brings.............
Totally agree
RIP Dean Stockwell, my mother watched this show on daytime tv before I was old enough to go to school, I vividly remember the intro and song, nice hearing it again after all these years.
My mom and I use to watch this early morning.....I really do miss her....wish i could go back in time
Fascinating show. When I watch the bluray I never skip the titles - the theme is lovely.
I legit don’t know anyone that disliked this show. Whether you liked sci-fi, drama, historical, it had it all
Bruh the reboot is a disgrace to this master piece
I went and found this simply for the sake of nostalgia. Ah, childhood.
also Scott Bakula makes a good pregnant woman.
Political Ointment Same here
How can i grow old?
@@daniwind2598 Stay young as long as possible.
RIP Dean Stockwell. Thank you for your unforgettable performances as our favorite hologram Admiral Al Calavicci.
Back when shows had real intros . Guessing I was about 11 when this show came out and the theme song brings me back to Sittin in my grandma's 2nd bdrm in her small apt chilling watching tv . Odd how things can make you feel.
Exactly how I feel hearing this intro, Damn it takes me back.
The intros are now relegated online (including Netflix and Hulu) and while the main networks still have intros, they shorten it for me ad time.
Don't feel alone, I naturally started liking this show of my own observations as a small child. This show shaped my character.
What a truly unique, hopeful and goodwilled premise. Scientific discovery trapping a kindhearted person in a loop of constantly helping those in need. There is something so... Just so nice about it.
Come home, Sam.
This is one of my favorite shows of all time. I cant believe that it was on air for only 4 years. It needed to be longer it was a damn good show. It would make an awesome movie.
Probably one of the greatest intros to any tv show ever made.
Every film I watch I like to pretend that at the end, when the story is done, the blue light flashes over the main character and it turns out that it was Sam leaping to the next story. I do this because I have no life.
Best comment I've ever read
+J Hallenbeck I do the same when a porno ends

Rip Mr. Stockwell, many, many, many fond memories
I have no words for how much I loved this show I used to have like 20 VHS cassettes with recorded episodes on it.

This song brings joy and sadness, primarily because of it brings back memories of my mother.
This show was a masterpiece.
Hoping each time the next leap...will be the leap home! I always get goosebumps when I hear that part. Great show!

See you at the Crossroads 😢 🙏🌹🕊
Man, I'm glad I lived to see good shows like this. I feel sorry for kids today.
don't worry, my father introduced me to code quantum back in 2015, this is my favorite show with Breaking Bad

Don't talk shite. Kids today can watch every episode of this at the touch of a button.
@@jmckendry84 Yes, you are 100% correct. I should not talk "shite".
Well, at least there’s sixty years of good television to watch due to archiving.

RIP Dean Stockwell, a true legend. I loved him and Scott Bakula together in QL. He will be greatly missed ❤
RIP Dean Stockwell. I had always hoped for a special finale with Sam making it home after all those years away
I can't hear this without reciting along and I literally always end up crying
R.I.P. Dean Stockwell ❤ We losted a legendary actor! You will be surely missed Al Calavicci!!!❤
The voice-over woman sounds really concerned about this fictional character
Yeah she put some emotion in that one.
housewares there are some people who have theorized that the narrator is ziggy and that's why she's emotional.
Especially the way she says “home” - it’s doused in hope
Dorkus Malorkus that's because the narrator is the voice of ziggy the super computer and co executive producer and donald p bellisario's wife deborah pratt.
Also, she is I believe the mother of Troian Bellisario, who was in the episode where Sam was a mother of 3 (the little girl) who grew up to be in Pretty little liars.
In memory of Dean "Al"Stockwell 💔
R.I.P. Dean Stockwell you were the best AL.
❤
I mean...when it comes to awesome TV show intros lol
The intro and theme alone are a work of art..the show itself a masterpiece!
Best show ever.........bring it back!
There is something so charming, so invigorating, so simple yet awesome abotu this instrumental opening. It's almost Speilbergian! Even as a kid, i enjoyed this series, just ffor the opening.
Shenruss you've absolutely hit the nail on the head. Its exquisite...
Mike Post created some proper tuuuunes for 80's tv shows.
Great childhood memories. R.I.P Dean Stockwell
RIP Dean, I loved this show as a kid.
We are watching Quantum Leap in school right now and I love the intro!!!!!!
R.I.P Dean Stockwell...enjoy your next leap 😪🎩
One of the best television shows ever made, PERIOD.
I love this theme song because it represents both the human elements and action/adventure aspects of this show. It was a smart idea not to give it a cliche sci-fi sounding theme.
I know and I love Scott bakula
honestly I thought it was a bit of cliche soap opera theme and a bit cheesy but that's just me.
demoskunk Takes
me back to the late 80's early 90's when I was in jr high.
demoskunk yeah Sam never loved the teddy napmike no.car it.gonna e soon.
They tried that in the last series and it didn't work
R.I.P. Dean Stockwell, we will miss you Al.
What an epic theme tune.
I love this show. Nostalgia. The 80s were wonderful.
I used to watch this back in the 90's.
Haven't seen this show in over a decade, still remembered to raise my eyebrows with him at 1:12
I used to love this show as a kid... it was so good. I wish they had this in Netflix so I could rewatched. Sad he never made it back home.
You can watch it on youtube. I've watched a bunch of episodes here.
It is available for FREE on the NBC app :)
I ABSOLUTELY loved this show growing up it was definitely my childhood
"...an Observer from his own time, [...] that only Sam can see and hear..."
Well, Sam; animals; little kids; the insane and the demented elderly.
"But we can't fit all that into the intro!"
"Okay, then say 'only Sam'." :)
sam you're part of a time travel experiment that went a little caca and we're experiencing technical difficulties in retriving you.
I don’t think it was the original intention and wonder if someone on the writing team decided that it would make sense for the innocent souls (children, dying, animals, the mentally handicapped) who are probably most pure to see Al and see Sam as he is, it would make sense.
This gives me hope
OMG the shlock, hells yeah. I grew up on this show and I still love it
I adored this show growing up, and still do. Thank you for this. :)
I used to try and take so many sick day from school for this show. They used to play it on Sifi and it started once school let out. Just so I didn't miss that first half hour I'd try to miss a full day of school, or "got let out early"
next leap home..Love this show
Yes, Same here I just remember being in jr high watching this so around 1989-1990. Talk about memory lane.
What great writers to come up with a concept and story like this.
One of the greatest shows of all time
I absolutely love this intro best show ever
RIP, Dean Stockwell one of my favorite childhood movies
Here to honor Dean Stockwell, known as Al.
If a show ever needed a reboot then this is it.
That or a movie would be great.
To be honest I'd rather just watch the originals. If a reboot was made, you'd have to endure shaky-cam, constant CGI, awkward sex scenes and so-called 'young talent'.
Yeah, I'd rather have one final movie than a reboot. Donald Bellisario actually has been working on one for years.
Words of wisdom
To be honest I'd rather just watch the originals. If a reboot was made,
you'd have to endure shaky-cam, constant CGI, awkward sex scenes and so-called 'young talent'.
And I'll use 'em in the episode on 1989 of the radioshow!
Yes.. Netflix should reboot it..
I wish they'd give this show a reboot. Since it aired, there's been all kinds of history that our hero could leap into.
I hear there thinking about a reboot
And have them ruin this masterpiece like every other reboot has? No thanks.
Dr. Sam Beckett never returned home.
Dang this takes me back just hearing the song. I think it was my Jr high school days. Crazy to think 30 yrs ago.
This was when shows came from the heart
The narration at the beginning takes me back to primary school. Loved this show!
This has to be one of the most perfectly put together intro sequences ever. These days shows just have sweeping landscapes over orchestral music, that's if they even bother with an intro. Back in the 80s these clips over epic music really hyped you up for the show.
This show brings back so many good memories. I remember being 3 years and i just loved that saxophone in the intro.
RIP Dean Stockwell... the ultimate Quantum Leap.
I'm currently lapping up the repeats on the SyFy Channel. I used to love this show back then and thought it was one of the best things on at the time. The only downer is it's a shame Sam never made it home in the final episode after 4 years of "leaping". As for the theme tune, it's one of the best I've heard. A top class show.
+56postoffice I wish they'd make a comic book or something to continue the series, most of the actors are too old to reprise roles in any way.
Even though this show started 25 years before I was born, I still love it :)
You were born this year? You type well for a 0 year old!
Sorry meant I was born 10 years after it ended :D
Amyks Which makes you about 10?
I'm here to see this beautiful intro. One of the best.
Fantastic series with a theme that can easily get stuck in your head, and i am not complaining.
This show was the best!!! My brother, sister and I would watch It right after school with cookies in our hands. It was a good show and the acting was great too :) - Thank you
Where's Netflix's Quantum Leap revival?!?! That would be amazing!
I just comment that
Yea, they seem to reboot and remake any old crap these days but this classic is left to rot. I need Quantum Leap back in my life.
No, don't let Netflix get their hands on this masterpiece series! Have you seen what they did to Death Note?
I’ve written a great revamped version of the theme music, I might put it up on my page if you’re interested
Dont know if Netflix ever got it, but the "El Rey" network is going to start showing the series starting tonight. (Jan. 1 2018) if you happen to read this reply. I can only tell you that "El Rey" is channel 341 on my directv
Goosebumps for this theme
Such a relatable premise for a show. When it comes down to it, all any of us want is to be able to return home.

The part with the horses and the birds, such great cinematography.

Epic tv show, sucks that Sam never made it back
Robin Sanders or did he
It’s a really fascinating story behind the ending of Quantum Leap. I encourage you to look at what Obscurus Lupa found on that.
Woah, spoilers
Sam did make it back and his buddy Al took his place by going thru the leaps but Sam had to leap back to save Al and got stuck again in the quantum realm.
Some say he's still out there, putting right what once went wrong.
Knowing at any time his next leap can be his next leap home.
