Cindy's Deer Was on the hoof and into the freezer the very same day. Weather has been too warm to hang it anyway......So...Onto that clunk in the truck......
I have a friend who is 80 years old & still shoots 7 deer a year he does not buy much meat at the store. I watched him a couple years back skin & quarter a deer while talking to him. It took like an hour maybe. I was impressed by how fast he done that. Of course I'm sure the following day when he processed the meat it took a little longer. He goes to Florida for about 4 months in the winter & takes a few coolers packed with deer meat for him & his wife's meals. He was a tool & die worker for General Electric been retired since he was 55 years old. You & Cindy will enjoy all that meat over the winter. You guys done well👍
Good morning Gary. I gotta make me a mobile vice like the one you got. I've got an altenator problem to fix now on my truck. Got to keep the old gal going. Thanks for sharing.
Good Morning! It's worth the time to make one! Super handy! Good luck with yours. Some of those alternators are burried deep now and hard to get to. Used to be a 10 minute fix, but not anymore!
Good morning Gary. That meat will sure make some good sausage. If I get a deer this fall, I will make some sausage too. Likely a bit of jerky as well. I think your vice mounted on the hitch is a heckuva good idea. Have a good day my friend.
Good Morning! Really, I think hamburger and sausage is the way to go. You can use it a million ways and no worry about it being tough. I like that vice! Supper handy!
It's a good feeling being able to work on and repair your own trucks. Great Job. Saved tens of thousands of dollars over the years doing pretty much everything myself. We sometime take for granted the skill of being able to do whatever but that is a great thing to be hands on. Out where y'all live, it is even more important. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
Very true! It might not be enjoyable, but it's sure more enjoyable than handing over a lot of money for someone else to do it! Yeah, 90% of the truck problems I can fix the other 10% are electrical that boggles my brain!
Good morning ! It's a good thing you got that u joint fixed now, rather than have it break and fall on the ground 20 miles from home with snow & ice on the road when its only 10 degrees outside !
Nice sunrise!ive used that seasoning before and really liked it.looks good.he was just jelous he didnt have one.(vice)good idea.good luck and have a good one!
Cindy has problems with MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) this brand doesn't have any in it. Yeah, I think if he watched awhile he would be surprised at how much use that vice gets.
Sometimes, them u-joints is just a hollerin' "come and get me", and almost jump into yer ever lovin' hands. Other times, they is the most cantankerous, stubborn, hornery, vengeful, nasty things that seem to have welded themselves in place. Was shown how to defeat the things with a vise, a ball pien hammer, maybe an old socket or punch. The things never bust or go out on me in places I'd call convenient, though. Definitely miles from a vise or my favorite hammer. Take er easy!
It sure can be! I wrecked a truck once that same way. Had it back in and fixed, gave the bolt a good tug to tighten it....and it started to roll! Went into a ravine upside down.....that wasn't much fun.
Used to have my antelope all made into jalapeño and cheese summer sausage back in my Wyoming days. Good stuff! Glad to see you showing us the work on the backend!
Good morning young man and Cindy. Good job on the deer. I like your vice idea. That be better than a hitch to bust your shin on, leave it in. LOL Have a great Sunday.
Good Mornin MUSKRAT & Miss Cindy ,Looks like some very tasty (Sausage) meat, nice to see ya get your truck up to par for your journeys up the mountain. Gives ya a little sigh of relief knowing one less thing could go bad while up there. Sure would love to see a cooking video of some of that sausage and maybe some flapjacks and eggs, possibly steak( venison) n eggs 🥩 🍳.....😊Much Love n GODBLESS Y'ALL
Good Sunday morning Folks!! Watching the hunting in the beautiful country you live in is exciting. A totally different terrain. Hopefully, When rifle season comes we have a dusting of snow... And the potential of lugging a deer up river in the canoe is always an option... Never the less, Being out in the wilderness is the Best place for this fella.. thanks for the video..Adam
I absolutely despise working on vehicles anymore. I have a very hard time getting off the ground, i don't have the arse to break somethings loose and i darn sure don't have the flexibility I used to have.
Hey Muskrat, I've just signed in to YT for the first time in months, having finally been allowed an account. Still no idea why I was locked out . Anyway, I don't think I've missed even one of your videos. Great to be back. I can just about taste that deer. You guys are well away for the winter with two deer; nobody is more deserving. It's been hell not being able to comment or "like". LOL.
Good job on the sausage and packing. Down to my last 2#'s from last season. Hopeful for a refill in a couple of weeks. Have a good day and think you got more weather coming in the next couple of days.
Morning !!! Looks like some good deer meat ! Pulled my lower back Friday afternoon. Been laid up for couple days. Much better this morning. Darn that Gravity ! 😂
I'm 58 and have never owned a vehicle with a working emergency brake. Pretty flat where I am in Michigan and park or first gear was always good enough to hold them when parked on an incline. The road salt usually has long destroyed or seized the cables before I get to to own them.
I'm 58 also. Most of mine haven't worked either. Being a stick shift, I kind of need it. To stop and get out quick I need to turn it off and put it in gear. Not much of this area is very flat. I hate that road salt! Probably what wrecked this one too.
HMMM, that sausage looks good, better than the Farmer John links I cooked up for breakfast. 😂 that vice is the cats meow I think. Kinda would like to build one myself. HAVE a Great Sunday. 😊
We ate a little of it and I think that's the way to go. Really good! Yeah, build one of those vices! I use it all the time! Really handy to have. The base on this one was broken so it doesn't swivel anymore. I wish it did.
Hello Gary... and I grew up in my dad's meat market...if you know any local butcher shop...you can ask for some pork fat...they'll probably charge you a little... but pork loins have alot of fat that's tasty... you can calculate a % of the meat you might expect...90/10...80/20... you can always add more sage, crushed red pepper, or even some fennel seed to the mix, and I like a little oregano or garlic.... some ideas for you...
Ha! That was a dirty joke to play, but awfully funny! If that guy ever found out, I bet he laughed after he quit being mad! He will probably pull it on someone too!
I just replaced the timing cover gasket and new water pump and belt , the gasket was leaking antifreeze into the crank case , boy am I glad it wasn’t the head gaskets, I changed the oil 3 times and filters to clean the motor . And I replaced the oil sending unit back of the motor , what a bitch , the anti freeze ruined it too , had to buy a special socket for that too
@@MuskratOutdoors We buy from a local locker. I grew up with my grandpas homegrown cows and pigs, so I can't hardly stand store bought meat. Good video!
We have, but I didn't like it that much. Someone said to pressure cook it and make BBQ'ed pulled pork type sandwiches. That sounds good. I was thinking about making some pepperoni snack sticks? Mostly I use the meat for trapping bait.
Morning 👋🏻 Ain’t much better than a freezer full of fresh venison before winter hits. Have a great day ❤🙏🏻❤️
It's been a long time since we each got one too. Great feeling!

That's great! We need more Folks like that in this country.
Nice team work guys, thanks for the video
Thank you very much!
Awesome , that’s going to help make the winter……❤️👍
Thank you! It sure will.

Productive day,I still catch a couple beaver, which I use for bait trapping marten. Thanks for another interesting video
That's one of the biggest reasons I like beaver trapping. Castor and meat are always needed.
Good morning Gary.
That meat will sure make some good sausage. If I get a deer this fall, I will make some sausage too. Likely a bit of jerky as well.

A stack of flapjacks and sausage and coffee will be nice in January when the snow falls and wind is howling!
That's for sure! There's a storm outside right now.....I hope it doesn't mess up my beaver plans...
It's a great feeling having a fresh supply of venison. That vise setup is genius.
It's great to have it done and out of the way before Winter! That vice is one of the handiest things I've ever made.

Especially with a broken emergency brake cable.
I've had that happen....not fun!
Yeah, I really have to fix that cable!
That vice is a great idea 🙂
That thing is super handy! I use it a lot. I have a smaller one rigged up the same way, but you can't open the tail gate.

That sausage should be very good!! Thank you for sharing my friends!
We tried a little and it's really good! I think once the spices absorb more it will be even better. Thanks Mark!
Good job Gary on all counts! Thanks!
Thank you Ron....getting set for Winter....
Good feeling when u can stock up on the freezer, appreciate the video.

Used to have my antelope all made into jalapeño and cheese summer sausage back in my Wyoming days. Good stuff! Glad to see you showing us the work on the backend!
That sounds good. We haven't made Summer Sausage before. I want to learn how. Thanks!
Great idea for the burger!👍🏽😊❤️🇺🇸
I think so. You can use it as Hamberger, or sausage. It's good!
Good morning muskrat and Cindy have a great day
Good Morning! You too!
👍
Mornin brother gonna have that Dodge runnning as smooth as new hope you and
Cindy have a great day👍👍
I hope so....I need it to last awhile! The emergency brake cable needs fixed soon too... You have a great day too!

Good morning😊
I'm late! GOOD NIGHT!!
Good Morning. Burger looks delicious. The repair went well for you. Have a Wonderful Day
We tried some yesterday, really good. No gamey taste at all. I hope you have a great day too. A little chilly this morning 25F.

Congrats on your successful hunt.

My dad always told us boys if your going to do it it right the first time then you won't have to do it again
Exactly! That front U-Joint was still good, but now I shouldn't need to worry about it again.

That's a great idea! We are friends with the local butcher, but I never thought to ask him.
Going to be good eating
It sure is!
I will have to remember the poison gland naming. Yep catchem both while the shaft is out😮
Mountain man

Evening, just got in from church and visiting. You could send me some of that, you two are making me hungry.
God bless

Mornin' !
Good Morning!

Sure I like the vise setup like everyone else... but why so high?
I would like it closer to the height of the tail gate.
Easier to see what I'm working on. Either way would work though.
Good mornin and many blessings. I've been meaning to ask you if you eat the Beaver meat when you trap?
We have, but I didn't like it that much. Someone said to pressure cook it and make BBQ'ed pulled pork type sandwiches. That sounds good. I was thinking about making some pepperoni snack sticks? Mostly I use the meat for trapping bait.
@@MuskratOutdoors I tried it once but it tasted like sour meat to me. Real strong. Making meat sticks doesn't sound bad.
Be better off using mule meat for woof bait. Catch a woof sell it and buy a beef.
Kind of short on dead mules though.....
