    Yeah, I cancel these rides because the rider will have an attitude and complain the whole trip. I don’t find riders.

      Right.. I tell them this is not a "search and rescue". We go to where the pin is. Timer starts. I text them, "I've arrived". Last night the guy wanted me to drive around the block to where he was. I told him just walk thru the parking lot to where I am.. He did in 2 mins. He said he had walked after ordering the ride. people seem to think the gps follows them with the ride pin

    The passenger app shows the pick up address pin and the passenger location pin. The passenger can move their pin if needed. But they don’t. I always drive to the green pin to start the wait timer

    Here in Dayton, our bus system uses Uber and Lyft for remote area trips for free to the bus hub. Customers try to text message the driver to change their pickup location to get the ride for free.

    Just Click... ( CAN'T FIND RIDER )... it will not affect your cancelation rate, You will not get pay, but you don't waste time or possibly a passenger complaining or low rating..

    I agree with what you are talking about, but I have been many scenaios where the passenger is not at the pinned pickup location and they are not necessarily at fault so you may have to move to pick them up. If you are waiting on them and you move too far, then the waiting timer pauses, and you don't get you can lose any wait fees as a result. I have hounded Uber about creating an Arrive button like Lyft has, but they won't do it, apparently.

    I get the entitled rider attitude. I will be with a rider and dropping them off. And all of a sudden the next (unknown) rider runs into the street/up to my vehicle yelling, "Where TF are you going? I'm over across the street!". RIDERS.. DO NOT CHASE YOUR DRIVER! Remember this is Not your car until it's your turn. Stop assuming that drivers are Uber stupid. We will get to you. Just STAY off the road/driveway. Wait off to the side where you requested the service/pickup. This is a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!!!

    I was a nine year veteran driver since 2015 with a 4.96 rating and one non-chargeable accident and two months ago I was deactivated after a false complaint and now Uber doesn’t want nothing to do with me whatsoever. They even deactivated my passenger account and just told me to get the fuck out.

    If you move away from the pin, the timer stops counting, so don't move or else you will not be able to cancel the ride and collect a fee.

      i noticed that, need to be at the pin, not my problem the rider isn't at the location that they requested, its bad enough we have to wait 7 minutes to cancel,, 2 they get , 5 for the countdown, happens all the time, i go to the pin fist and wait till cancellation, then i cancel i don't even bother trying to contact them, not for $3.98, i used to call and text, when i was making $20 $25 a ride, but this min fare no bonus or surges,, nah peace out,

    Easy, just collect the cancellation fee don’t interact. Don’t answer texts or calls. A 9 year old can use this app. If they’re too stupid let them learn the hard way.

    Uber app always messing up,I have similar situation, the rider called and screaming where I was I said I am where I am supposed to be,automatically I canceled the ride,I don't take abuse from the rider.

    This driver is way too considerate. I’ll just tell the passenger “ride is canceled, please make sure you have the correct pickup address next time” and then cancel the ride. Waiting around and going through with the ride leaves me open to an altercation and being one-starred. No f’s given here.

    That just happened to me tonight. I arrived at Pin..Hotel front door. Passenger says I'm at the back door. I asked for directions. He got snotty. I cancelled on rider behavior and kept the 8.50 surge and waiting at the airport for next ride with his surge money. I'm sick of assholes with attitudes before I get into car and they are so lazy they can't walk 2 me. They need the ride. Not me. 🤣😎👍✌️😂

    I get crap like this from time to time. I hate when riders put the wrong pick up location and when I cancel it I get penalized. Recently I've had several riders put Wal-Mart pick ups and I just park the car and walk into the store and wait the 7 and cancel them. I will message them saying I am waiting for them or I don't see them and tell them I can't cancel. After 4 minutes I ignore them. I ain't playing with their shopping trip game for $5-9 for no tip!

    There are two Westin Hotels in downtown San Diego. I was at the pin at the one in Horton Plaza and the passenger was at the one on Broadway. I cancelled because she called me and was calling me bad things. I just hope the next driver didn't have to put up with her attitude.

    Another problem I have noticed is that some riders do not know how to use the Uber app. Meaning, some will just use their “current location” for the pick up. I tell people, please verify before confirming! Some do not have a the clue that before confirming, they can actually move the pin to the exact location they want the driver. Uber map is not very good compared to Lyft map. Uber needs to learn from Lyft Map design and tracking ability.

    Hahaha! This is a perfect video and describes exactly what happened to me. I arrived to the pickup location and the rider was not responding to my text messages. So finally just as I was about to cancel he called me. He was a drunk asshole and was 4 blocks away. I told him that he was shit out of luck because I do not appreciate drunk abusive riders. Good luck getting another ride

    This is a scam from the rider, his original pick up location is in a surge zone so he put it a few blocks away and he doesn’t have to pay the extra money that he tells you to come pick him up

    If person starts with an attitude or complaining ride is canceled. Wait at pin, because timer will not start. If not get out of there.
    The $4-$6 bucks is not worth the bad rating, complaints and other possible bad situations.

    Had someone put the wrong pin the other day. Had to wait a few mins for them to walk to me. They ended up 1 star me for "wrong pin location" and "wrong map route". Even though I was at the correct pin where Uber told me. But somehow I am the one to get punish. Also, I really dislike it where they ask me where I am at and what vehicle I am in. I tell them "I am at the pin and it tells you what vehicle I am driving in the app. You also have my license plate number."

    The problem is that people do not double check their pick up location and just go by what the app’s GPS picked up which can sometimes will be wrong. Totally riders fault since both Uber and Lyft’s app will ask if pick up is correct.

    Immediate cancel. Passenger is being "controlling". The psychological message from them is, "My time is more important than your time." These are the kind of entitled passengers that think they have ordered a SERVANT. Puhleaze!!! I'm a 30 year limo driver. Usually the weekends in L.A., especially Hollywood, where I live, are super red hot busy. And, you, controlling passenger, want me to jump through hoops to do your little $5 ride. Laughable!!!

    If it's literally around the corner and traffic is non-existent I'll drive another 30 seconds. If around the corner is actually 2 blocks and 5 minutes then I'm selecting Rider No-show and getting paid.

    What about when you have reservation 3:30am you get to the gate rider doesn't answer his phone or messeges, time is running out, you can't get in, you can't cancel cos you're 200tf away for cancelation fee , and you drove for free. 🤷🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

    Most times is the Uber app making these kinds of mistakes, other times is riders that do not know how to used the app, usually older people going to a doctor’s appointment. As an experience driver you will know when you need to be helpful or when you need to cancel the ride. One last thing, I only drive XL or XXL, so I’m extremely patient waiting for rides that are worth my time and pay me better, so I’m not going to cancel these type of rides that easily but rather be helpful, of course unless I’m smelling trouble or getting bad attitude. So far, so good.

    I feel that some Pax will do this to get out of the wait fee. This happened to me once before, I went to the pin, they contacted me so I went to the correct location. They then took 8 minutes to come out. I could have canceled but I would be out of the cancellation fee+time & gas. Now I say the same thing as that one driver, I then wait for them to update it & if they don't i’ll gladly take the cancelation fee.

    In our Bar District downtown there are 2 designated Uber pickup locations. Uber defaults the driver pin to one of these 2 locations regardless of where the rider is located. This is a huge issue because the rider could be blocks away instead of walking to the designated pickup area. Usually I will just go get them if i can see where they are, however other times I text or call them to let them know where i'm at. If they get snotty with me I cancel the ride because that's a definite 1 star once the ride is over.

    Torsten, I encounter this a lot. What I’ve found from talking to the riders, is that they usually don’t tap in an exact address.
    Instead, they use GPS & then the GPS is off… especially when it’s busy or if they’re at an elevated height in the upper floors of a building.
    So my top tip as a driver going on nearly 15,000 Uber trips in almost 7 years is to ALWAYS tap in the exact address, then double check the location on the app.
    Doing that will eliminate most of this from happening.

      When that is the case, cancel right away if they don't give you a gate code. If you are too far from the pin, the timer won't start.

      Same shit here in Florida constantly. These rideshare companies need to better understand communities that are call box gated and guard gated. They both suck bull balls. The riders know this and so sometimes they don't answer or even they don't call the guard at the gate to notify they're expecting a driver. We pay the price for the Rideshare companies ignorance and this has to stop. I'm setting my own up and using the experience to make sure my company does a better job with the dumb shit!

    It seems whenever people use the My Location feature, the pickup point is always messed up. I encourage the rider to use the business name or street address for faster pickup.

    This happens EVERY night! all the time! the address, pin and person are three separate points. The guy I picked up last night said that 2 ubers had cancelled on him.

    Some riders game the system with this, they know they won't be ready in time so they put the pin at the front of an apartment complex, corner of the street, etc, and you can see they're about 400 feet away in a house or apartment. They ask you to come to "building 12" or "to the corner" to get them. When you hit the pin, the wait timer starts counting down, but if you drive away from it 200 feet or so, the timer pauses. The rider then gets extra time without having to pay the wait fee. Always stay at the pin unless you can see the rider walking to you, and if it looks funny, cancel at 2 minutes.

    Absolutely not you picked the place you get there. Move the pin I'll cancel, uber is great about changing a ride offer for the worst especially if you have surge. I don't advise any edits to original request. Rider can cancel and try again.

    I see a lot of these, especially in gated communities and malls, and when you move from the pinned location to the rider’s live location Uber pauses the timer so you get waiting time and Uber will not compensate for additional travel to rider.
    I just wait for waiting time to end and cancel.

    Sometimes they would drop a pin but that road has been closed down, either for construction or by the cops and the rider then doesn't want to walk to you and then when you cancel it hurts your ratings also

    The thing is uber put the pin at random places and its not the riders fault uber expect them to walk to the pin and most time the riders don't know. It happen to me alot using the riders app I'll always have to manually set my pin 📌 where I'm standing.

    I encounter this at times, after 2 minutes I cancel and drive off

    The problem with that as well is you won't get paid for wait time and that really counts especially for comfort ride I'm not moving

    One time I was picking up my riders from the rental car pick up location at Ontario Airport was a few months ago
