Diemer also happened to be a very dedicated Nazi, even after the war, and I'm guessing that's why Will is electing to simply refer to this opening as the Blackmar Gambit.

A very nice checkmate there Will. I wonder if after dxe4 you have ever tried the Hector gambit with Bc4, can often lead to lines from the Von Hennig gambit or Von Poppiel, it is a bit less well known and you know the value of a good unexpected attacking move. Thanks Will.
