Flying Squirrel Surprise!

Northern Flying Squirrel finally captured on a Trailcam in the Boreal forest in NE Ontario, Canada. Seen evidence and still photos that looked like one but finally have a video of one at night.

Aww! Sweet! Not sure if they are they same critters, but I get big eyed squirrels at my window feeder at night. Their eyes are huge!!

I believe they are as the Northern Flying Squirrel is across most of Northern Canada including the Yukon. They usually congregate in groups and share dwellings in conifer trees to stay warm. Look for the flabby belly skin and the flat tail. They're usually nocturnal so hard to see during the day.

@@NorthernRetreat I think they must be the same. They are so cute! I do get several in the feeder at one time, which NEVER happens with regular squirrels!😆

I usually hear mine running on the cabin roof and siding during the night.
