  • Forestry mulching a pond bank with the Takeuchi TL12R2 and the fecon. This is another site for the water company and I have mowed around it before with the brush cutter. They are wanting to keep up the pond bank to better maintain it and keep some of the limbs and leaves of the pond. There were some pretty big trees on this one I took down but pushed in the woods instead of grinding up the whole thing. This will be another site I will have to keep mowed with the brush cutter a few times a year. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #Fecon

    Great vid man! I get asked all the time “why do back up so much” and “you waste too much time backing up” but they don’t understand that when you back up and drop that head to the ground, mulcher or rotary cutter, it really processes everything down better and makes it look really nice. The drum mulchers really do a nice job of leaving a nice fine mulch if the job needs it, way better than a rotary cutter. The end result looked great!

I think you and me are a dying breed because we are more focused on quality and not quantity. Yes I want to make money but I also love what I do and I want to blow people away on every job. I love these machines, so fun to watch running, like a brush hog on steroids. Have you watched any of the other people here on youtube running these things? Upstate Brush Control and V-belt & Son both seem to have enough experience doing the work to have good systems down for working it. What I was thinking, is knock the ones on the dam over, then use the mini-ex to get the material where you work it without having to be all over the dam or have trash fly in the pond. Check those two out, especially upstate to see what I mean. Not trying to insult ya none, brother, just trying to knock some of the learning curve out for you if you do get one.
    The people I see locally advertising for work with these advertise trail building for horseback riding or subdivisions to have nature walks, right of way maintenance, see them down in retention ponds fairly often, and for farm field edge reclamation. Best of luck with it, thanks for the videos.

    That mulch head just doesn't seem to be up to speed, really I would go as far as to say it's a dog. I would be very unhappy with it's performance. It looks like it's the Bullhog head, but if it's the Blackhawk, that explains it, the Blackhawk is junk IMO. It's good for briers. Did you check your Aux. flow menu screen to make sure it's at 100%, 40.4 gpm, cuz that's what I'd be shoving down it's throat. I run a G4 on the exact same rig w/carbides and it will walk the dog in 4" to 6" material. I don't think that PC is correctly set for that head. Oh well, you did a nice job, turned out great. You just had to bust your butt to get the desired outcome. Take care!

    02/13/21•Dear diary,
    Today I went to the woods for some quiet time. To my dismay, the calm was broken by a mighty roar.
    At first I I thought it might be a bear But, to my knowledge, bears do not beat on wood.
    I hid in hopes that the beast would not find me. Yet, I hoped my safe harbor would permit a glimpse of it. At last I saw the monster from which the roar arose. It was red & white with huge black feet.
    Alas, I’d spotted the elusive Bigfoot.... Sasquatch in the native tongue.
    While searching Google to find where to report my sighting, I ran across a Company called Elite Earthworks. Right on their RUclips page was a video showing the beast in action. And there I learned that it was not a Bigfoot. Oh, no.
    Instead I’d seen something far more fearsome and elusive. I had witnessed the terror of the North American Coochie.
    Dear Diary, please keep my secret and comfort me, from beneath my pillow, as I try to sleep.

      @@littlefinkle7757 it was either going to be a Feral Sasquatch or a Fecon Coochie! Getting too close to either would make me shiver too much to sleep!

    How do you charge for that work?

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  3 года назад

      I just charged by the hour cause I’m new to it and it’s tough to how long it will take by looking at it. I took the price of the rental for a week, fuel, transporting it and what I wanted to make for a week added all that up and divided by 40 to come up with the hourly rate

    Just doesn’t appear you have the right equipment for the job, I believe you brought a knife to a gun fight. Glad that is a rental unit.
