    It’s like Dodge ford chevy many manufacturers make great mulching heads. Buy what you can get serviced to close where you operate

    Great video. I mainly excavator mulch but I just bought the same CAT you have in this video. Couple questions for you. How do get away with running no auxiliary hydraulic cooler in Florida? and do you use most knife style teeth or carbides? I work in Montana and we have lots of rocks.

      When the machine is running optimally it sits at 172 degrees with the Blackhawk. I was expecting a decrease but there are some issues I’m still chasing. (Head balance/ proper tuning… just some tweaks from the factory to make it run better.) I only run knives. I have carbides on the edge of fae mulcher which I like but knives get the job done quick and make it look great. On a skid steer for you I’d recommend carbides and just let your excavator run the knives.
      Typically I find temps spike when I’m in lots of tall palmettos or if I’m going up and down hills (yes we have a couple hills in Florida 😂) I may add a cooler at the end of the year just to bring the temps down a bit more. The cooler I personally like is the FAE cooler. Key Land Management has a nice cooler option for sale too.

    Mulcher works well. Never understood why people hate palmettoes so much, are they afraid of snakes? I want to see how that thing mulches elephant grass or brazillian pepper. Also is your cab sealed well enough not to have you itching like a dog full of fleas if you mulch up some velvet bean? I guess it is easier to load smooth on the gooseneck trailer with tracks than with wheels.

      It’s sealed about 80% on a good day. This head runs through pepper likes it’s not even there.

    I've always heard nothing bad about fecon I think they are the best in the mulching industry

    • @TheTreeShop
      @TheTreeShop  Год назад +3

      Any bad thing I have heard about fecon can typically always be attributed to lack of maintenance or improper tune and balance.
      I’d expect 10,000 hours out of any fecon product.

    What machine do you use to remove the bigger trees and to grind the bigger stumps?

      310 or 315. We don’t grind big stumps just haul them whole to the dump.

      @@TheTreeShop Today was practice sessions for the 777X, 737Max, Mirage and F35. I was only watching because we need to get our plane fueled for tomorrow. People were in awe of the Mirage then it got spanked by the F35....which was hilarious. I have a lot that might need clearing down in Punta Gorda, let me know if that is too far (1.3 acres).

      Love the F-35. My sister and brother are very familiar with that jet from their time in the Navy. Super cool plane.
      You should call Lacey in the office at 386-843-5266 regarding your land. She can get you scheduled and such no problem. We work in Punta Gorda all the time.
