Please react to the amazing live performances of these songs - Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer remix from their SWC5 concert, Sherlock Clue + Note from their SHINee World IV or SWC IV concert and Everybody ar Tokyo Dome.
Lucifer dance practice is ICONIC and made dance practice popular. Sherlock is in the top 50 greatest boy band songs of all time by Rolling Stone Everybody… let’s just say no one has done a proper cover of that song because I don’t think any group can do that except SHINee. Thank you for trying to discover the PRINCES OF KPOP, iconic, and legendary SHINee!!!
That's SHINee for you, pure greatness. And pretty much no one will argue with you on that fact. LOL :D "Sherlock" is a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note." That's why the title of this MV is "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to listen to the album you would see that they are two separate songs, but when combined they become "Sherlock." So, in the MV you hear the mashup of the two songs. (Just like with SuperM's song "One (Monster & Infinity)") SHINee were the first to do it yet again. In the MV the boys are Sherlock-like detectives who are looking for clues in the spooky mansion. The "ghost" girl -- who is played by Jessica Jung, the former member of Girls' Generation -- is helping SHINee solve a mystery by leaving them clues. At the end they realize that the girl they have been seeing and chasing after all day is actually the girl that was originally involved in the mystery when they find an article talking about her from 1910 and they discover that they must have been seeing a ghost. SHINee are supposed to be detectives, so the choreography has been designed to give them Sherlock-like poses and to show them investigating clues, and taking photos, etc. That is why they do that Sherlock Holmes-style exaggerated march, and why you see them kneel down and draw a line on the floor, and why they hold their hands out like they are snapping a photo, and they have that move where it looks like they brush the dust from their sleeves, etc. Yep, the brand name on the computer was iWatson. Like Sherlock Holmes' sidekick Watson. The computer helped SHINee solve the mystery. And, yes, this was the era of Taemin with long hair. Although, in the MV, Taemin's really long hair was a wig. If you notice he only has long straight hair during the dance breaks, but during the story sections his hair is much shorter and kind of curly. However, he really did grow his hair long for a while. Taemin with long hair is one of his most iconic looks. I didn't really like Taemin's wig look, but Taemin with naturally long hair is one of my favorites. (He is actually known for making girls jealous because his hair is so perfect.) Many people thing that Taemin with long hair made him look pretty like a girl, but I actually thing it's kind of a masculine look on him. "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" came out in 2012 -- 4 years after their debut with "Replay." So Taemin is now 18 in this MV, Onew is 22, Jonghyun is 21 and Key and Minho are 20. Taemin's hairstyle also made him one of the most popular of the members with their Japanese fans. This was the era when SHINee really started to solidify themselves as Japanese artists, so Taemin's look had Japanese fans gravitating to them. (SHINee debuted in Japan in 2011 and now they are considered one of the most popular artists in Japan. They are so popular that they are part of the mainstream music scene and most Japanese citizens don't even consider them foreign artists. They spend about 50% of their career in Japan, so they are fluent in Japanese and they have just as many Japanese albums and songs as they do Korean.) The choreography for "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. Once again, SHINee were trendsetters and, because of SHINee's skill level, SM became the first to see the value in using a well-known choreographer to help create their dances and to strive for a level of choreography and video production that surpassed anything that had ever been done before. (Now, SHINee -- and numerous SM groups -- have worked with Tony Testa multiple times over the years.) Today it's common place for Kpop companies to have really famous in-house choreographers, and to seek out people in the industry who are really making a name for themselves to choreograph for them, but SHINee was one of the first. If you want to see the choreography for "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" better you should check out SHINee's "Sherlock" dance practice video and the performance version MV, or better yet, one of their live concert performances of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)." I recommend their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul from 2015, ruclips.net/video/M4pINahBoRY/видео.html. If you think the MV is good, just wait until you see them perform it live. SHINee live is on a whole other level.
Just found your channel! You should react to their live performances since they are known for it. Especially the Sherlock live & Everybody live performance 🔥🔥🔥
In "Everybody" SHINee are supposed to be toy soldiers and they get their energy and power from the fans. So in the MV the "creepy" boy or robot, or whatever you want to call him is supposed to represent the fans who are using their energy to power the SHINee members up. The boy plugs in the power which sends the electricity to the grid on the floor where the members are laying and it activates Key, which then sets off a chain reaction that proceeds to activate the rest of the members. The fans power SHINee up with their energy and that's why in the beginning they wake up from the floor and in the end they run out of energy and they disengage and fall back down to the floor to wait for the fans to come and power them back up again. All the moves and everything you see, including the way they are dressed, is supposed to remind you of how a toy soldier would look and move. At one point you see Minho give the members an energy boost by pulling Key's pull string, winding Jonghyun's windup key, using a defibrillator to jumpstart Taemin and activating Onew by turning him on with a remote control. In the middle of the performance, where they come together and create that picture in their dance, they are supposed to look like an airplane, that's why Onew spins his arms round really fast like the propeller of a plane. The plane has to do with the fact that they are soldiers and they are depicting a scene from a battle during the Korean War. And the chess board is showing how they are soldiers engaged in battle as they advance across the chess board. It's a metaphor for how life is full of a series of moves and countermoves. Similar to the scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets where Harry, Ron and Hermione have to play the lifesize wizards chess game to get to the Chamber of Secrets. Yet again, SHINee are trendsetters, EDM Dubstep was a new style of music and sound when "Everybody" came out in 2013, and they introduced the genera to the Kpop industry. And combining that with popping, locking and robotics as part of the choreography was also new. And yes, 4 out of the 5 of them have major high notes in "Everybody." That is what makes SHINee so mind blowing. :D If you like this choreography, than you have to check out the dance practice for "Everybody," ruclips.net/video/GUf7hbpmFLg/видео.html. Make sure you click on the CC button so you can understand what they are saying at the beginning of the practice. This is one of SHINee's most iconic dance practices. And if you want to hear the Japanese version of "Everybody," check out their performance at their SHINee World Concert 2014 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, ruclips.net/video/P_VJ_flgEVo/видео.html. This is considered one of their most intense and difficult dances and yet they are able to dance just as hard as this, all while singing live and killing it the whole time. Fun fact: Every time they performed this song as part of a comeback stage performance their military-style outfits were a different color. They even had an aqua blue version that was the same color as their fan color. SHINee's comeback stage outfits are some of my favorite of any Kpop group, and they are different every time they perform, but they always stick to the theme of the song or album so it's fun to see every one of their performances just to see what their outfits look like each time. In your free time look up some comeback stage performances and see what I mean. "Married to the Music", "Dream Girl" and "Everybody" were some of my favorite eras.
In the "Lucifer" MV the SHINee members don't have superpowers, but the "smoke" or "light trail" you see is supposed to represent the aura of a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lines in the song say, "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (They are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) In other words, the woman or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles. In the MV you see them trying to fight against Lucifer's powers and resist her attempts to try to make them bend to her will, etc. That's why in the choreography you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot -- for example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them. And they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. (FYI: That vibration you saw them do is 100% them actually shaking like that, there aren't any camera tricks. If you pay attention when they perform Lucifer live, you will see them do that exact same thing. :D) LOL we have no idea why they had to be dancing in front of a sports car, but that was kind of an iconic thing that Kpop companies did back then in a lot of their MVs, The group would dance around a fancy car to show off their coolness and to give the video a more futuristic, expensive looking aesthetic. "Lucifer" was released in 2010, so this was just the look that a lot of MVs had back then, in part because everyone was following SHINee's lead. Just take a look at TVXQ, Super Junior, Infinite or 2PM MV, etc. from around that time and you will see a similar look and style. SHINee was setting trends in the industry with 'Lucifer." As trendsetters it is SHINee's job to introduce the next song style and dance trend to the industry, and when SHINee has a comeback the industry takes note and follows suit. It is said that within 3 months of SHINee's comeback you will see that same sound, style and dance trend being duplicated across the industry for both boy groups and girl groups. That's how influential SHINee is. I'm not sure why people are often so thrown by their hairstyles and outfits in this MV. :D I think they are actually all pretty cool for doing something different that sets them apart from everyone else in the industry. And that is what makes SHINee legends and why "Lucifer" is such an iconic song and dance. You're not going to remember a group or a song if they look and sound the same as everyone else, you remember them for standing out and not being afraid to be unique. SHINee are also known for never being afraid to experiment with everything they do, including their style, and as the fashionista and stylist of the group, Key is always looking for ways to be unique, so his head was really shaved on the one side. What you see is his hair was bleached blond on the side and then shaved down to his scalp. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. That's why Key's style is often just straddling the edge of outrageous, but somehow always manages to look cool. Fun fact: I think one reason why Minho's hair is so short at this time is because their previous comeback was with their song "Ring Ding Dong," and all the members had pretty long, shaggy hairstyles. However, Minho has never liked having long hair. So, I think for "Lucifer" Minho decided to rebel and go really short. This was also the era where Taemin had long hair and it made him one of the most popular of the members at the time, especially with their Japanese fans. The Japanese culture really embraces men with long hair and the members said that he was one of the most popular at the time because of his style. Taemin with long hair is so iconic and many in the fandom were really sad when he eventually cut his hair. So, in this MV, Taemin, with the red pants, had just turned 17. Onew -- the one with the fur on the back of his vest -- and Jonghyun -- the one in the backless vest -- are 20 and Key and Minho are 18. With SHINee's experimental concept, nothing they do will ever be like anything they have ever done before and that includes all the songs on each album. Every song and MV will be completely different from each other with a whole different, look and style every time. Whenever SHINee releases something new, the only thing we expect is that it will be a brand new sound, look and dance style that we have never seen before. That's why their discography is so diverse and why they are able to continue to stay relevant even after almost 14 years. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines, if you haven't yet, you have to check out their iconic performance of "Lucifer" Live in concert. Check out their performance at their SHINee World Concert III (SWC3) in Seoul from 2014, ruclips.net/video/Fm5n8Q2XO34/видео.html. This is a perfect example of how you can tell they are singing live and killing it every time. SHINee doesn't need auto tune, and if you hear them perform the song live, they often don't use it. "Lucifer" is actually known as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow. Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. It only looks and sounds simple, because SHINee makes it look that way. Check out this clip of SHINee teaching a group of actors and comedians "Lucifer" as part of a challenge on the variety show "Invincible Baseball Team," ruclips.net/video/0V02cQwYLMQ/видео.html. It's funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D
You definitely should check out the dance practice. SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever released specifically for fans. SHINee is the group that started the trend and they are why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D It was the very first dance practice video to go viral. Back then dance practice videos were filmed for the group and artists to watch to help them remember the moves and to fix mistakes, etc. They weren't intended for a mass audience. But SM realized that fans were starting to try and copy SHINee's choreography and they decided to film a dance practice and release it to the public. SHINee's dance practice videos became so popular that other companies and groups started to do the same and show off their choreography by releasing dance practices too.
Thanks for the reaction, I highly recommend their live performances, like: Evil from SWC 3, Sherlock, SWC 4, Like a fire SWC 3, excuse me miss SWC 4, Hitchhiking SWC 3, why so serious SWC 5, Stranger SWC 4, Picasso SWC 3. Odd eye at Inkigayo. And other performances of their beautiful ballads like An Encore, Sleepless Night, Love, etc... It would be ideal if you can watch an entire concert, once you see SHINee live, there's no way back! 🙂
Thank you for the amazing reaction!! Lucifer's dance practice & choreo was really popular when it came out. For Sherlock, the girl in the mv is Jessica Jung who was ex member of Girls Generation. The choreo for Sherlock was choreograph by Tony Testa who choreographed for Michael Jackson. While for Everybody they supposed to be like toy soldiers & it is one of their hardest choreo. Sorry for the long explaination 😅 im sure someone can explain better since my english vocabulary is limited. Btw I hope you can react to their live performance. The live vocals & the dancing is crazy
You have great English keep it up and yeah SHINee is a dope group I need to dig deeper into their discography they have amazing vocals and those songs are so unique.
Please react to a guide it has tons of info on there music, who they are and there solo work. But the live performance of excuse me miss tells each name of the members but the song is so R&B and it is a song that everyone loves. Thank you so much you made my day.
Yay, more SHINee!! \o/ Thx a lot for your reactions 😍 I just love these three songs and I highly recommend the live versions of them!! 💎✨ In your first reaction I made some suggestions and suggested some guides to get to know the members better, I keep suggesting the same things! 🙂❤️
Keep suggesting it the guides I tend to watch on my own so give me the one you feel I get to know them better. Thank you for watching I appreciate you and everyone who watches my reactions.

That's SHINee for you, pure greatness. And pretty much no one will argue with you on that fact. LOL :D "Sherlock" is a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note." "Lucifer" is actually known as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song.
So iconic 👏 Love Why So Serious!
5HINee and TAEMIN's live stages and dance practices are always awsome
5HINee is THE LEGEND
TAEMIN is THE KING of kings
Thanks for the reaction. They just keep giving and its a journey for sure. Loving it
Thank you for the amazing reaction!!
