I have been going to Magic Mountain since the 70's, & have ridden the "Metro" monorail. My favorite Metro station to get on was the tunnel station at Samurai Summit. That station is now the tunnel launch for Full Throttle, the Spin Out attraction was right around the corner. Hello From Phoenix Arizona 🌡 🔥
I remember riding the monorail back in the old days. But now the scrambler is part of the past too, bummer I like that ride. Thanks for the updates on the park Dylan!
Hey Dylan, enjoying your content. I've been going to Magic Mountain since about 1974, amazing how many changes have occurred over the years. It's a shame to have destroyed so many trees for one attraction, the flora of this park won't be the same. This better be a great Coaster.
I totally agree with that. That would 100% be my pick for Pistachio Park. I'd also like to see Dive Devil replaced by a Big WaveZ so we have a ride that is both a water ride and another flatride in the park.
I rode the monorail back in 1993 when i was still up, flashback was there and before superman i think there was eagle flight ride sitting on that spot right
The Sian is the early 80s change from the old u0s font 82-84 sometime. I was but a wee lad. Lol. What if they change the park all together? Make a parking structure. a new street to enter in the back side of Apocalypse, Riddler, and Batman. Then expand the park along with their proposed future hotel along the ride side over by the RV park area.
I agree if they do anything with the slides smooth them out they kill my back and scratch the hell out of it. I’d also love to see an upgrade in character meet and greets give me some b side classics characters like Elmer Fud , FogHorn leghorn, give me some slowpoke Rodriguez !
Okay, so this is from my research. It was known as Magic Mountain from 1971 to 1998, when it was renamed Six Flags California to include Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor. I wonder if they will eventually change the sign at the toll gate, park entrance, and fountain?
@@richafig- I also liked the "Eagle's Flight" Skyway. They took that out after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. The structure was damaged beyond repair.
“Apparently somebody is very ugly… don’t worry, there is someone for everyone”. I just love you Dylan haha. Thank you for this content! I’ve gotta make it out to MM soon. I’m so sad about Superman! It was one of my favorites! Do you think that they would do an upgrade like Top Thrill Dragster 2?
I hope they take the six flags off the marquee sign and then get ride of the six flags sign that’s in the fountain and just have Magic Mountain there I hope they plant some new trees once their done building the new ride that side of the mountain was always on of my favorite parts of the park just too much sun for that park now
That hair wave is adorable and fitting for a dude who loves coasters, lol. Living your truth I suppose is the saying. Riding the rails to 100k in these coming months hopefully. Hmm, I just had a Pastrami sammich from the Hat for 12.60. I did add onion rings for another 5 basically.. tho I will say I got so many...I was munching on them on the drive home. When I got home I had so many left it was a legit large serving left and super crunchy and flavorful. Totally worth. Plus half a sandwich was leftover for the next day cause it was so stuffed. I suspect Superman will go before Viper considering it's cost to operate with it's high energy costs. Tho Viper would fall not that long after considering it's age. So there is so much potential coming into play after the new coaster.
Watched a vid of MM back when it was only around 10 yrs ago. Although it wasn't a coaster-thrill fan's park, it also seemed more well-balanced. However, it still wasn't a Knott's or Universal type park, but it also didn't seem like what it has since become. Or more like a 1960's amusement park in its twilight, such as the Pike in Long Beach or Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica. The profit margin of MM may not support it, but it would be nice if millions of $$ were put into improving the park's looks, particularly adding hundreds of trees. Areas like where The Scrambler once stood should be quickly bulldozed & replaced with at least landscaping.
Scrambler has been at that spot since the park opened I think it needs to stay just put in a new scrambler don’t know what’s taking them so long to do that
Current rumor is that Viper is next up for a repaint. It's a low-maintenance, reliable ride. I can see the trains from Anaconda coming out this way for parts to extend the service life. It would be nice if they swapped out the restraints for vest restraints and did a touch of reprofiling. Viper is one of my favorites in the park and I'd love to see it get the TLC it really deserves. The Scrambler going away makes me sad. That's my favorite style of the old school flat rides. I always preferred them over Tilt-A-Whirls and Gravitrons. We'll see what replaces it as I am sure the park is going to get a lot of love over the next few years because of the LA Olympics in 2028. It wouldn't surprise me to see another major coaster after the Golden Bear project, truthfully.
@@kirkgilmore765- The station for Flashback is still there. They use it for the Halloween maze in the area. The land that Flashback sat on is part of Hurricane Harbor. This is next to the Emporium at the front of the park.
It was cool to meet you in the park yesterday. Depending on the timing I wonder if those boys you heard being stupid in calling someone ugly were the same boys in front of me and my friend when we were in line for Twisted Colossus that made us say to each other "this is why we like enthusiast meet ups". If they want a girlfriend they should try not hitting on a girl old enough to be at the front of their classroom telling them to pay attention (I'm literally a teacher, that's why I use that metaphor). Speaking of those guests, I have mixed feelings on chaperone policies. On one hand we need them for people like that but on another hand, many of my pivitol enthusiast moments happened when I was alone in a park, younger than 16. My first ACE event being the most notable. I know kids today who are in the same boat, boxed in by those Chaperone policies. There should at least be an easy way to get exempt, to give young enthusiasts that freedom. Now as for my thoughts on the actual changes going on: I'm cautiously excited for the new coaster. Mostly excited but say, if the Great Adventure coaster (AKA Six Fails Over Merger, and one new coaster I don't need to know a thing about to have my opinion on it set in stone) ends up being the same model it'll leave an extremely sour taste in my mouth to put it mildly. Scrambler has been gone since December, but it was a classic that had its fans who deserved more than a "one day it was there, the next it was gone". As for the sign I feel weird about it, I would think it's cool if it weren't so much of a Cedar Fair-ism (along the lines of something like Flight Deck becoming The Bat) with my feelings on the merger being abundantly clear Cedar Fair aesthetic choices at Magic Mountain isn't something I'm super in the mood for, but as long as Zimmerman keeps his hands off the current coaster lineup it's honestly negligible.
According to other SoCal coaster youtubers I watch, they took out the Scrambler months ago. I wondered why you hadn't mentioned it. It would be cool if they filled in new flat rides at the empty spots. There are so many next-gen rides in Europe and Asia that we just don't have here.
My last trip to Magic Mountain was in 2003. I'm glad I got a ride, Superman, back then. If it's run is over, RIP Superman. Thanks for the memories.🦸♂️⚡️🥹
I’ve thought that a street car that travels throughout the park might make a nice transportation ride, though I wonder how much that would bottleneck the pedestrian traffic?
I think the metro should return but I think it would be real difficult for it to get up the left side of the park and back down to the plaza so I think a turn around in metropolis back to Goliath would be the best option but we all know their not gonna spend money on any transportation ride system they have been making us guests walk now since 2001 why build something that will just bite into the cost of operations
On September 5th 2025 I will be at knott's berry farm for my cousin konrad birthday hope to see you there at the calico mine ride or berry tales ride as well ok.

I would bet on just the one's that are well known enough and not really called Six Flags and their name anyway., The 3 parks that this is the case most often are Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, Fiesta Texas
That person throwing the water bottle had too much of a difficult time trying to find a recycling bin, or a trash bin. He/she has to have someone else pick up his/her trash.
The food is a total rip-off but if people continue to pay those prices, Six flags has no reason to lower them. Also, you get 50% off? You must have the absolute best pass/membership because I have the grandfathered gold membership and I only get 5% off food.
All theme park food is over priced, that;s why you buy season dining. SF season dining was dirt cheap for decades and just went up somewhat near normal industry levels recently. I still have the legacy membership dining with 2 meals, snack and drinks at every park, it's just over $80/yr, which is ridiculous. My Cedar Fair legacy dining for just 2 meals at all parks is $155, drink plan is another $35, which is cheap, but not dirt cheap like Six Flags legacy

Thank you buddy! So many people are down right now.. and you are being so happy and positive!
The highway sign looks like the same font as space mountain at Disneyland to me at least
Love your curly hair!
They should paint the coaster's name right across the concrete seating with some cool 3D art.

Hey Dylan, you're an expert on all things theme parks, so why do they do the whole chaperone policy? Cause they must have a reason for doing it right?
Because the kids get too rowdy and don’t know how to behave themselves. So it’s a way to combat that.
Interesting, I would think that other parks like Disneyland and Universal would do that as well.
