Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information on how to chose the correct cage type for a chameleon. Screen, hybrid, or glass are simply tools and it should be a basic husbandry skill to select the correct cage type for your environment. It is unfortunate that we have such resistance to intelligent cage type selection in the chameleon community. I can only hope that the next generation of chameleon keepers and "experts" can start beyond the old tired myth that chameleons should always be in a screen enclosure. We have been working for over 20 years to try and stamp that out! Thank you for your help in setting the community free from this myth!
Thank you! After making this video I realized I had completely forgotten to mention hybrid cages, so thank you for bringing those up! Hybrids can also be fantastic options.
I started off a screen enclosure but I couldn’t hold on heat or humidity with it even side’s plastic off so I went to a glass enclosure and so far so good
Love your videos, they inspired me to get a leopard gecko and he is doing awesome! We love him so much, thank you for introducing me to such wonderful animals ❤️
love what you said about screen. vs. glass for chameleons. I use to keep my veiled chameleon in a screen enclosure, but I also really struggled with dehydration. Currently, I don't keep chameleons, but considering to in the future and will look more into using a glass enclosure!
Okay. I got one. I live in Houston, Texas. It is humid OUTSIDE, year round. BUT!!! At best, the humidity INSIDE my house gets as high as 40% (we also keep the temperature between 70 and 74 during the day, 68 or 69 at night because otherwise we all feel uncomfortable when sleeping). So, for a panther chameleon in a house under these conditions... screen or cage?
If you didnt silicone that background you shoukd really consider just taking that thing out because your live feeders will burrow/eat that styrofoam I seen it happen to my buddys just a few months back…. Just kind advice but im prob just assuming so my bad!
I didn’t know this was about cat geckos I was looking for info on the chameleon enclosures. Maybe next time keep it on track and get right into the chameleon info and save the cat gecko for another video or the end of the video. Thanks for the info it was good to hear your view on glass

I hope snake discovery invited you to the 'build off' I feel like you need recognition for your enclosures!
Thank you! Unfortunately I wasn’t, but I’m sure many other talented people will be setting up amazing enclosures!

Hey! What's your substrate mix ?
I never got a Chameleon because of the screen enclosure. The Kat geckos are so cute.
The drainage lair, does it just constantly absorb excess water? Does it drain anywhere?
Love your videos 🥰 any advice on Pygmy leaf chameleons? Recently got one and it’s really hard to find information on them.
I’ve never kept them before so unfortunately I don’t really have any information on them. They are quite difficult though
@@EmmaLynneSampson thank you for responding 😊
I'd love to work with pygmys. Good luck with yours!
@@wildside306 Thank you so far so good just went through her first shed and it went well. Very interesting species.
Those are super hard to find, where did you find yours?
Great video. !!!!!
Did you plant your plants in the substrate?
Where did you buy Moira and Finns enclosures?
I live in Las Vegas Nevada what do you recommend I use ?
Great video

Rubbing alcohol (or a dry erase marker) will remove sharpie if you need to correct future incubation lids! Congrats!!
Thank you 😊

Just skip over the part where she talks about the geckos. The majority of the vid has tons of great info on chameleons and glass enclosures
A reptile species you want to get within the next year?
Emerald tree skinks! Other than that I don’t have any plans for new reptile species
@@EmmaLynneSampson someone been watching Clint's reptiles 😄. ... Me too :p
will you ever get pygmy chameleons
Maybe some day! Not any time soon though
@@EmmaLynneSampson they are so rare but very intriguing
Where can I get those big branches from?
outside
You should get a garter snake they are awesome
I love garter snakes! I’d love to own a group of them at some point in the future
