I love how Line 6 is always coming up with new ideas for devices. I'm not going to get this as i have a Helix already, but i think it's cool for folks on a budget or folks who dont need/want much.
My first Line 6 product was a Pocket POD I put on my pedalboard to cover amp modeling. This looks like everything I loved about that setup x10! Nice work L6 👍🏼
Bought one and currently using it in 2 different contexts: firstly, it's replaced the tuner and various distortion/overdrive and effects pedals on my pedal board (making presets is easy and fun). Secondly, it's doing alright as an audio interface. The helix amp sounds are pretty decent for recording. Minor gripes: very slight occasional crackling when using it as an audio interface. Really need that software release so we can dial in settings more precisely. I'd like to have a precise BPM on my settings rather than rely on the tap function. Overall, well worth the money. I've spent more on pedals that I've used less, so I'm pretty happy with this.
I’ve already got an amazing, VERY small setup that can run direct into the front of house. My Quilter Labs Super Block UK. It can also power a cab easily. I do love that this is just a little smaller and I can just roll with a couple of pedals as well. Crazy awesome!
Does Playing Boss LINE 6 POD make anyone else really happy? LINE 6 POD is quickly becoming my favorite pedal. It's just so beautiful and sexy. Practically free and the second you drop her on the board that chill ass mofo gives you a Rich Dark Gushing Robust tone.. And you also get this cute little 1/1 feedback response usually too harmless to be forgotten. But more than that, the Line 6 Pod is just so positively alluring. It comes on the board like "do you want to cast a spell?" and I'm like "yeah Line 6 Pod i do want to cast a spell let's do this shit" and when she attacks she's like "SPELLS ARE FUN" and I'm like "yeah they are SO FUN." She doesn't say some bullshit macho shit like "I will destroy you" she's just like "nah spells are fun and voodoo spooky.” And she looks so happy. I mean this is an inanimate object that literally brought my guitar to life by magic. It understands it's life is a temporary magical gift and the dude is just fucking loving it. I mean just look at her face she’s just so happy and cute as a button. I am literally never sad when Line 6 Pod is on board. IDK if she's gonna ever make it into the pedal HOF or not, but for now she a super dope chill pedal.
Unbelievable how much Line 6 have streamlined the UX these days - maximising the functionality and features while minimising the physical size of the unit
can you use the cab alone ? ie disable amp sim but use cab with effects - i have analogue amp pedals i would like to play into this? if not - could that be in a future update? if not possible i should go for boss IR2 instead perhaps?

@@kernelspy No. Most people need a simple amp sim pedal for their pedalboard switcher/looper setup and go straight to PA. MIDI would be used for switching presets only. Way more useful than the ctl/expression pedal port they went for.
I have it and it sounds amazing. Only 2 lacking to me are not having clean/crunch option/switch and not having an edit tool like line 6 edit since it has the usb c connectivity!
If I am going into a passive DI with this using an electric guitar, will I still need a pre amp? Basically do the batteries run the pod itself or do they run the pod as well as act like an active signal at the end to go into a passive DI?
I get overwhelmed by the number of effects and parameters in my HX Effects unit. This looks like a really simple plug-and-play option to prevent right-brain from overtaking left-brain creativity.
there is a bug in this pedal, this sounds great, but the footswitch keeps on when you change to a new presents, is annoying. I dont think this supposed to happen. I use external F3/F4, but when I assign them to anything, It keeps on (Delay, distortion..) , even if i go through all my presents they are still there on, this is weird. I think line 6 should fix this.
No bluetooth or internal battery? This should be in every product from now on. I cant say How much these things made my life easier on stage/ Studies etc...Cuvave Sound is Far from Helix and others but these things They did ARE Just soooo helpful, makes me Wonder why these giants don't do It.

LINE6, you need to add a few things to a version 2 of this to COMPLETELY sell the shit out of these things and cover every player that would use one. 1. The USBC needs to also power the device (if it doesn't already) 2. Integrate your wireless Receiver into the input also allowing the Transmitter to charge in it. 3. Integrate Bluetooth 5.4 Stereo Pairing to any Phone, Speaker or Headphones. (Allowing Recording via Bluetooth on your phone also) 4. Allow 1/8" MIDI control 5. A Wireless/Wired Midi Pedal with more Stomps or at least support 3rd party devices in this way. (Allowing Amp Channel Changes within the same preset and such) Those 5 things would make for the ULTIMATE pocket device that you could use in so many ways. Only thing you need then is an extra Stereo Input Cab Sim iR loader Pedal (which they could probably add to the output in V2 on the side [or expand the pedal formfactor slightly] with a selector as well). Unless the CABS this has can be end of chain and the amp can be moved around like Helix? 2&3 are must haves, period. Bonus idea, a predetermined Compressor on the input per preset with a way to turn it on or off.
It feel like you created a cheap looking box to differientiate from your more expensive products. Why not give it your best, even 40$ Joyo pedals have a metal box. Are your more concerned about undercutting your products or about giving more to your customers?
I own several Line 6 products. I will no longer buy another. They have orphaned and abandoned all of my products that I paid thousands of dollars for. UX8, Variax Acoustic, X3 Pro. Long and short pedal boards. They used to be a great company. They have since fallen down down and fallen short. What a shame! They gather dust now and go unused.
Really interesting interface. Disappointed the price is so high. $99-$129 would be a must-have. For $179, I'd rather save for a Pod Go or something like a Katana
The Go is more than twice the price. I can see this appealing to a lot of tech-shy players, for less than the price of many one-trick pony stomp boxes. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of recommending it to one of my bandmates who fits the bill so he doesn't have to carry around his acoustic and electric amps that we mic.
Just grab some cheap used studio monitors like JBL MII 306's. I have them and they sound great. Look at the Trio+ as well- amazing band in a box...very light on effects. Some distortion. Drums and bass plays along with you and it has a looper.

It was one of the most useful devices in music in 1998
Several important and loved albums were recorded on the original POD. It showed its age at the end, but it was pretty great.

You will not need a pre-amp when using a passive D.I.

The POD family is very much alive in the 2020s. The POD Go was introduced in 2020 and the wireless version more recently than that.
