I live outside Atlanta & the Tabernacle is by far my favorite indoor Venue! This was my 5th TTC show & it was AWESOME, 1st row, lower balcony, Professor side. Was really looking forward to the Infinite show but wasn’t sure what to expect since Tyler was only listed as a “Very Special Guest” & was performing BEFORE Sturgill. He was great, as always, but I could only take 3 songs of Sturgill. I’m being generous...I would have left during the 1st song had it not been for my friend who went more for Sturgill than Tyler. Prior to the show, He & I debated wether or not Tyler & the Boys were considered the opening act. My theory was, Tyler was helping out SS for being his mentor, friend, producer & somewhat of a Living Legend who could ride on Tyler’s coat tails for a tour to cushion his retirement funds??? Don’t get me wrong, I love some good ole Sturgill but he ain’t no Tyler & boy did that ever show, as 1/2 of the stadium cleared out shortly after Tyler ended. When he 1st came on, I was like WTF, I’m used to his mumbling lyrics but I had to put in my ear plugs during that loud mess & also wasn’t feeling his outfit. I actually felt sorry or embarrassed for him. The next time I spoke to my friend he was quick to say that Sturgill was going back to his roots...PRAISE JESUS 🙏🏼 & I hope he made enough $ $ $ for he & his family to live comfortably from here on out. The Pandemic did him a favor cause they have insurance to cover everyone still getting paid when tours get cancelled. It’s time for him to give up his 👑 on top of 💩 Mountain until he digs up those roots from wherever he planted them. Am I the only one that got the same VIBE? Not hatin just curious. Man we have all been taken by storm with Tyler's sound and songwriting ability. But I have to take a moment to caution Tyler Childers about his latest message posted on RUclips dated 09/18/20202. I am commenting here because the comments are turned off for that video about racism and police violence. It was gut punch to hear his take on what is currently going on politically in this country. I love his music but now it seems tainted to think he is "WOKE" like all the other "Hollywood Elites". Man I am very disappointed that someone as smart and talented as Tyler can be so blinded by headlines and fake news media to actually try and lecture "rural white people" as he put it, about how to think about BLM, Antifa and police. You can be dropped by your fans as quick as we picked you up. Tyler, you mentioned having a platform, if you keep this message up you will not have it for much longer, that is unless you go urban cowboy/Florida Georgia Line or rap for your fans. I found this music looking for hope of the old sounds and ways of life, not to have left wing politics rammed down my throat once again.
