5800x still solid 3 years later. Not much reason to upgrade if you game at 1440p or 4k.
I just checked this out cause of the finals only game where i feel like i might need an upgrade while running 4k with dlss
@@rasmust8044 too many cheaters for me to take the game seriously. Always some dude every match going 25-0 as a light lol.
For fortnite the 5800x is not good wnoigh anymore, no stable frames, down to 30 in the 1% lows
@@Max-df5zpi get 360fps lock with 5800x and 3080ti
@@Benchmark_Guy what do you mean by 360fps lock? I also reach high frames but the ones that annoy me are the lows that are not good enough. Average is 250 for me but the lows in fights are 30 to 80fps, which is the point that matters to me. Not to have high highs but to have high lows. I would rather have 140 to 160 than 40 to 250.
What I like about fact of buying 7800x3d is that AMD already said next 2 gets of CPU will use same LGA1718/AM5 socket so as long as you will buy better range of mobo and not cheapest one ur safe on upgrading to next gen
right but it would be stupid buying R7 7800X3D and then buying Ryzen 8000 when it comes out. Unless you have a lot of money and dont know what to do with them. Waiting for Ryzen 9000 is something else ofc depending on the performance increase
@@SkillerWolfCFMryzen 12000 gonna be the move
Can you test these in escape from tarkov ? (Its very cpu intense game) also low 0.1 and low 1% would be nice
The higher the resolution, the lower the CPU usage meaning that the most noticable difference is gonna be in FHD but that also depends on the GPU as 4090 is an overkill for FHD. By that I mean if the GPU is barely enough, doubt that CPU will improve the performance that much
Good Bechmarks. I'm keeping at 5800x for now, but buy new gpu.
which gpu are you buying, i am thinking to get a rx 7800 xt for my ryzen 7 5800x
After much thought and saving money, I decided to go with 7800xd3 and a 4090@@kevinnovak9440
@@kevinnovak9440me too
@@kevinnovak9440 that's what I'm rocking right now, 7800xt and 5800x very solid
@@kevinnovak9440 I am thinking 7800 xr or 4070 ti super (16gb vram) just more expensive... i have 5800x
I always get fomo. But benchmarks like these keep me in check. My 4090 and 5800x should be good for quite a while.
overall it is 8% better at 4K IF you run a 4090...any lower cards even the 4080 the advantage drops to 5% wich is absolutely not worth it having to spend on a new MB + RAM + CPU to get it running.
Somewhat dissapointing for high res gamers.
Does 5800x is good for RTX 4070?
@@leydercalderon9543 Definitely; this is a great combination.
what i have a 4070 and i want to upgrade from 5800x to 7800x3d, is it worth it?
@@Jun-tv8xh Depends what games you play. Triple A-games in 1440p og 4k - then no. But if you game like CS2 in competetive settings and want 200-300 more fps - then yes.
@@klunkermagnyl And for valorant there it's how many FPS for both ?
5800x and 7800x3d owner:
It's a solid upgrade especially if you get the 3d for a good price like i did.
I liked the speed of the 5800X for editing but the 7800x3d does even better.
While i would only recommend looking in to this cpu if you are already on AM5, def cant go wrong with buying it
I just upgraded two 5800X systems to 7800X3D as I found locally two new 7800X3d for $260 and $220. The 5800X were pushed down to other PC's and 5600/5600X are getting sold off. It's all about the price for me and also selling old hardware off before resale drops off the cliff.
I have 5800x, 7800xt and monitor 390 hz 1080p. I want buy r7 7800x3d
Thanks Sir i was looking for this everywhere found it finally after i did update
wish you would do 1440p benchmarks as that what most people play at
most people play at 1080p but 4k is technically standard now adays. honestly 1440p is pointless
@abcbizarre Pointless? It's the perfect sweet spot, looks way better than 1080p and has better performance than 4K
It's the perfect middle ground for most people.
pointless ur ass, sweetspot@@abcbizarre
@@abcbizarre lmao
Steam Hardware Survey says that:
59.58% gamers play at 1080p
16.39% play at 1440p
and, for the technically standard resolution now adays:
3.77% gamers play at 4K
4K is so not worth it unless you really want a 30"+ monitor and many people don't go for displays that big. Also a fun fact: more people play at 1366 x 768 resolution than 4k.
@abcbizarre Barely anybody plays in 4k, dude.
thanks
Why such a boost, just from CPU...
These games are CPU bound? Cpu upgrades never used to provide FPS jumps like that... 20 FPS, 30, double... wtf
its on 1080p
@@pineconepinapple471 They were not all 1080p.
@@pineconepinapple471 Look at battlefield 5, 4k. Look before you speak.
@@xnotx2 the difference at 1080p on battlefield was 135 fps but when on 4k it was only around 20 this is expected bc the 7800 x3d is alot better than the 5800x
@@pineconepinapple471 Not my point. 20 fps from a cpu upgrade was non existent 10 years ago. Then you came in here and wrongly said "they are all at 1080p" and were wrong. And you're now comparing 1080p to 4k. 20FPS gain from a cpu upgrade is nuts.
Maybe you're young and just don't understand? But just stop trying to pretend like you know what you're talking about. Thanks.
so what im getting here is the 5800x does horrible in 1080p. but in 1440p and 4k, the gap between the 5800x and the 7800x3d close a little bit. im not sure why that is lol
It's because higher resolution gaming is more gpu dependant.
Higher res is more gpu intense wile lower is more cpu intense
using your brain for 5 seconds would allow you to figure out why.
@ancientflames It's a valid question for a newbie, no need to be a dirty cunt hole.
gighend CPU ..and Highend GPU.. and you play 1080p.... fail..
It's to test CPU, noob
@@maxkade9133 Test in 4k... Nobody plays in 1080... We need results in 4k..
@Tostog in 4k it becomes all about gpu not cpu
@@Tostog The point of the video is testing the cpu. There isn't much difference in 4k as you're gpu bound so it wouldn't be a helpful test. Also the VAST majority of gamers don't game at 4k. Like 95% game at 1440p and under.
